:3 Okay~
I think this side character will also help Triver understand the condition of his home and just the kind of reputation the royal family has.
I'll get a post up tomorrow.
It would be an understatement to say that she wasn't worried about the man. He had been acting strange since he handed the gun over to her. Sam was worried as well because he was still half asleep and had no idea what was going on. "Look at me," He grabbed Joel by the shoulders and swiveled him around to face away from the window. "What did you see?"
By now the others were awake as well.

"I told you there was something out there!" Jeff said as he pulled Avery closer to him; the younger boy was still trying to sleep, unaware of the danger that lurked outside. Lee was pissed off. She was tired and had been woken up by the screams of a lunatic. Honestly she didn't see what Joel did and it was getting on her nerves.

Sam was trying his hardest to keep everyone under control. They all began to talk at once, some said that Joel had gone crazy while others, like Sam and Rowena, believed the man although they couldn't see whatever it was that had scared him.
Rowena still clutched the gun in her hands, mindful of the trigger.

"I don't know what the fuck it is." Joel said as he pushed his hair from his eyes. It was still there, luring about like the cat after an unsuspecting butterfly that he had seen in the park a few days ago.

Sam looked at his sister before looking back to Joel. He didn't know what to think at that point but it was clear that they needed a plan soon. Vincent was the next in line for guard duty and Rowena carefully handed the gun over to him before looping her arm with Joel's and dragging him to one of the back tables. Sam was helping Jeff and Valencia with moving around some of the tables to make a barricade while Bob was busy watching over Avery. Lee leaned against the edge of the table with her arms crossed over her chest.

"What did you see?" Rowena asked, "Was it an animal or was it something else?"

"Like what?" Lee asked with a raised brow. She didn't buy into the idea of there being something out there. To her, the man had simply lost his mind. There was no other explanation for his behavior.

Once the barricade was built Sam and Valencia went back into the kitchen to get breakfast.
Ah!
I've had past partners be against any side characters I've brought in so I've always been a bit worried that current partners will as well.
I had a small idea that he would have seen someone who fit Inaris's description so then our characters would have another reason to stay around southern Danycia. Don't worry though, this character is probably just going to stay for a post or two or until they head out from Port.
Hm. I might bring in another side character but how should he know the twins? He's going to be an ordinary fisherman who is around their age, maybe a few years older.
Sorry for the short post!
"We have different mothers." Ser'deni said as she helped her brother sit up. He was a little pale and weak but at least he was alive. "And do not apologize for being injured Daryn Lyker, things happen that we cannot control." Triver looked around the home with a confused expression before Ser'deni told him of what had happened.
There were fuzzy bits in his mind that were flashes of blurred color or jumbled words muffed by the same fog. With the information that he was given, the prince's eyes widened and he looked at the older mage. "Thank you." he said as Ser'deni helped him to the table. He sat across from the female knight. To his right sat his sister, her hand gently clasping his. The two used to be affectionate with each other as children. Triver thrived on physical contact with others, particularly his sister and Inaris, and it was a habit that persisted.

Triver shook his head, "I didn't think you knew about that." He told the younger mage. She shrugged and scooted a cup closer to him.
"I have known for many years, now be quiet and eat. Thank you Lady Amaria, for healing him." Ser'deni said with a polite nod of her head. Triver had been gifted with the looks of his mother: fair hair and skin, well defined features and a sweet smile that tugged a little more to one side. His eyes were all his father's from the shape to the color. He was an uneven mix of his parents. In contrast to Triver's lighter appearance, Ser'deni looked like her mother's people. Dark skinned with long dark hair and dark tattoos that ran from the border of her lip down to her throat. Only her eyes showed any resemblance to those of her father's and brother’s eyes; of course one could only notice if they were opened. While they might now have looked like brother and sister there were a few things about them that gave the subtle hints. They were just little habits that one would catch over time.

"Should we stay in Port for another night and gather some more supplies?" The mage asked, half of their supplies had been lost with the horses. Other bandits probably already got to them by now and it would be useless to head back to check.

Triver was eating quietly next to her, they needed a map of some sort in order to plot their route. He assumed that one of the twins had a map that they could use. He knew that they were instructed to search the southern part of Danycia for any signs of Inaris.
"We need to see if any one has any information on Inaris." Triver said as he glanced at the twins, Daryn in particular. "How is your injury by the way? I trust that your brother is fine?" He was concerned for their well-being, they were his knights after all.
Posted!
The ride to Port wasn't rough on Triver, he couldn't feel the horse beneath him and he couldn't see anything beyond just blurs of color that bled together to create dark areas. He didn't feel bad; he knew that he was dying. There was something that he found to be peaceful about it and it was the fact that his body was numb. If he could have felt anything then maybe his reaction would have been a bit different.
There were so many things that the Prince needed to do still. He needed to find Inaris and take him back home, he needed to make sure that Ser'deni wouldn't cry, he needed to ensure that his knights were safe...he wanted a family; he wanted to fall in love and get married. If he died now, he would regret everything in his life.

After some time the Prince simply passed out.

Ser'deni was afraid for once. Usually she could handle things like death and being injured because that was what she had been taught to do. It was different when she cared for the person who was dying. She had never felt this before and the feeling on its own was frightening and confusing. The woman fought to stay awake throughout the ride.
When they slowed and she could hear the sounds of a sleeping town, she let out a deep sigh. There was hope for Triver after all. They were taken down from the horse one by one and honestly she was a bit frustrated. She was a mage, not a kid and she was sure that she was older than the twins anyways.

Triver could hear the fuzzy and far-off voices of everyone around him. He could hear the twins and the stranger and even Ser'deni.

The mage tried to get up from the cot but she felt so sleepy and she nearly fell forward. "It'll be okay." She said to Triver as she reached for his hand. One of her hands was placed on the table to keep her balance and the other gripped the Prince's hand. He would have gripped hers back if he had the chance. Ser'deni sighed and pressed her lips to his forehead before smoothing back his sandy hair. The woman scolded her and the mage was about to say something back when something was thrust into her hands.

"A blanket." The woman said before moving about, grabbing things to heal the prince. Ser'deni felt useless as she felt her way back to the cot. Once she was curled up into a small ball and she had the blanket draped over her, the mage began to cry. Was she going to lose the two people that she held the most dear? She had lost her mother but she had been too young to understand or remember her clearly.

In the morning the mage woke with no memory of falling asleep. The only thing that she remembered was Triver was on death's door. She sat up too quickly and her mind spun as she looked around the room. Although she was weak with mind magic, Ser'deni could reach out and poke around at the minds of other people. She used it as a means of moving through crowded rooms without the need to openly display her disability. He's still here. She thought once she came into contact with Trivr's dreams. She knew it was Triver because everyone had a unique color to their thoughts. Triver's was a deep and dark royal blue. Inaris's had been a muddy gold. Even the twins had their own color.

The mage tumbled to the floor, her feet tangled in the blanket and she furiously kicked it away from her before scrambling to Triver, who had been placed on a nearby cot.

He was asleep but alive and that was all that mattered to her.
