Nationality: Japanese.

Biography: Kazuo Sanada is a young man who would be considered as a "city boy", having recently moved to the quaint but beautiful village of Nakalla from Tokyo. Born into a middle-class family, Kazuo is quite the average male. Both of his parents worked hard to supply their son's future, and in return, Kazuo grew up to become a respectable and hard-working young man who could independently look after himself. He has a bright and friendly personality, but is politely conservative when meeting new people. He has quite a laid-back attitude, but do not mistake it for him being a push-over. If anything, he can be as stubborn as a horse.

Before moving, he was a university student but decided to forgo his last year. The reason why? He was not that happy living in Tokyo. The stress, the obligations, the tight confines of a very busy city...he needed a break. Though somewhat disappointed, his parents complied with his decision when he told them that he decided to move to the country-side. Choosing Nakalla Village as his new home, he packed without any hesitation and left his old, busy city-life behind and began a new adventure that starts with a breath of sweet, pure air of the country.

Other: Kazuo has been living in a small apartment for three months now, having been hired as the school's librarian. Currently, he is very happy with this new and gentle lifestyle, becoming friends with the locals fairly fast. When he's not working or lazing about, he likes to help around the village with odd-jobs.

Personality: Zico is an individual with a cool-headed personality, often showing a strong sense of willpower and optimism. In his mind and heart, he had already came to terms with the worst-case scenario regarding every possible situation he may encounter, and therefore, proceeds with a sense of confidence so that he may not be broken and hindered mentally. Zico's moral senses has not been shaken yet but he does understand that in some cases, one must pick the lesser of two evils when it comes to a difficult decision. He can be stubborn and hardheaded.

Medium-length, disheveled black hair, deep brown eyes. Usually wears make-shift cloth mask to protect against harmful inhalants and debris. Also protects his appearance for anonymity.

Skills: Proficient in using firearms, adept in outdoor survival which includes hunting, tracking, providing shelter, and supplying the bare basics of first aid and cooking. Tools - Travelling rucksack with necessities (dry foods, water, camping gear), combat knife, silenced M1911 handgun, FN SCAR-L Close-Quarter-Combat Variant (last-resort weapon).

Even then he was nothing too special - just a guy who was in his junior year of college like the rest of the young adults his age. He came from an upper-middle class family, with a father who owned a small-time machine shop, and his mother who was a secretary for a big hospital. Through them, he was able to become a well-rounded individual with a bright mindset that would set him off to a (hopefully) successful career after he graduated. But just as the world sunk into an apocalypse, so did his future. When the undead first appeared, there were many causalities during the evacuation procedure, and his campus was left abandoned as it turned into a scenario where it was every man for himself. Having no other choice but to secure his own life, the young man stripped an assault rifle from the dead body of a soldier, and disappeared into the night that was painted red with the blood of mankind.

Motive: To make contact with his family ; so ensure his own survival.

Will also post up a CS tomorrow when I get the chance. :) I do have a question, though - are we assuming that all of our characters are somehow already in a group (if we want them to be)? Or would it be solo-play and then having a first-encounter type of dealio?

Planning to make a support-type of character, if that's okay - someone who is dependable and capable of maintaining morale, as well as being proficient enough to scout, back-up, and supply time for an escape if the group are met with drastic situations. :p

EDIT: Also, quick question. Are military-grade weaponry allowed? Specifically full-auto assault rifles. Planning to have one for my character, but if you want to stick to ordinary, civilian firearms that'd be ok too!

Ah, haha! Well, I wouldn't say Yaozu would hate him for that. Yao doesn't really care about what others do as a martial artist - all he cares about is if he could beat a challenger if they proved themselves strong. Though Yaozu would regard Hikaru as a 'weak' fighter, that does not mean Yao would dismiss him and they could even possibly be friends if they wanted to. :)

And hm, those are pretty good options. But before choosing, I'd say we should have some time for everyone to interact with each other and develop some backbone before rushing the plot towards a dilemma. That's just my two cents though. :) I'm happy to flow with whatever the group decides.

EDITED: I also updated my CS, officially made Yaozu walk the path of Kurai and added his magic abilities. LostSamurai, let me know if I need to change anything. :)

Yaozu's Magic Abilities

1.) Shadow Cloak: Mystical shadow envelops Yaozu, giving him a boost to defense. Although the resistance is fairy weak compared to other magic-based armor, its true power lies in its ability to induce illusions thru afterimage to confuse his opponents, as the Cloak gives Yaozu and ethereal-like and hazy appearance.

2.) Black Flames: Yaozu can manifest flames of blackness to his hands and feet. This enhances his offensive power, as it gives him the ability to impact his hits with cauterizing force. It burns fiercely and brilliantly when activated.

3.) Shadow Breath: A powerful and primal technique that dispenses a lot of Yaozu's Kurai energy. Usually used as an ultimate move or sure-hit finisher. To prepare it, Yaozu must internalize a great amount of energy and condense it, which puts a lot of strain on his body. The longer he charges, the more devastating it is and the more it cripples his body.
