When you are listening to this year's from now on your Egyptian Silk (it must be Egyptian) deathbed, understand that we are young and stupid(well not really stupid) right now, any mistakes made at this point in our life should not be held against us. I don't even know why I am doing this stupid thing, should have just written the essay instead, would have been easier.

Anyways let's start shall we, my name is Eugene James Mckinney, you may call me Eugene and that only, I do not go by those ridiculous names people have given me (I am speaking to you, Terry). I just got to BHHS this year and let's just say it's an experience and move on. I hail from the lovely city of San Fransisco (I miss it dearly) and I have two loving parents and a...twin. My mother and father are Jenifer and Terrance Mckinney, two simple Californians who made their fortune dealing in real-estate and bank investments. They also leave each other so much that they would drop everything, rip their family up at its roots and move us to Beverly Hills. Wait there is more, not only did we have to move right before junior year, but they also left me here with the gorilla in the next room while they go galavanting across the globe. Some shit about 'rekindling their marriage'...whatever it's too late to change anything now, plus the house is not that bad.

Speaking of my twin, his name is Terrance and quite honestly for a long time I was convinced he hated me. It has been weird these past four years, not talking to the only person you literally are supposed to be able to talk too. Once upon a time, we were inseparable, two peas in a pod, our aunt would say he was stuck to me like white on rice, in a glass a milk, sitting on a paper plate, in a snowstorm. But that is all in the past, he hurt me and I hurt him back...the issue was never resolved until now and things are starting to get better. I am struggling to trust him to gain though, it took a lot out of me to deal with the rejection he constantly threw in my face, and don't get me started on his shitty friends. Even our father pushed me aside to be with his 'star' boy, all because Terry preferred his ball to my book, yeah that hurt tremendously, the old man missed out on my birthdays, award ceremonies, promotions, the fundaments of my childhood.

Oh well, Terry can keep the bastard, I have our glorious mother who raised me properly. I did notice that the break opened the gates to a majority of problems in our house, it was not like we suddenly had a fight, it was more like a poisonous gas filled every room and killed our relationship over time. The realization of what had become of us hit me like a truck, he had his friends and I had mine, he wanted to party and fornicate with anything on legs, while I preferred to pass my classes and not kill my liver. You guys should have seen family dinners, every night our small fractured family trying to put on faces and talk about our days. It was like watching someone eat nails, or at least that is how it felt. Don't get me wrong, I miss our bond (who wouldn't), but to many things have happened for us to just switch that shit back on. Terry has some explaining to do...and so do I, but he more so than me.

It does feel good to be talking again, it was like our parents leaving lifted some weight off our shoulders and allowed us to see each other again, and not just 'his' son or 'her' boy. I have faith that we can recover from this, I know we can, I just hope that Terry stops trying to stuff every male he finds with some form of muscle on their chest down my pants, it gets annoying. What makes him think I don't like females? I love women, they are beautiful and have nice...parts...ah whatever, the point is he needs to stop hooking me up. Going to BHHS has helped, I have made a few friends, I think I have some enemies but...well I will quote Terry 'fuck em'. Now I have to go, Terry is in the kitchen again and he can't cook for shit. As Yagi was reading and listening to his eyes lit up at the word "Swords" in "Swords of Valor". He immediately thought about how many swords there were? What design? How were they used? All types of questions flooded him, except the most important ones. His first chance to truly taste the flavor of this countries steel, and test out (what seemed like) a dangerous man. The bounty hunting process did seem different out here than back home, most people wanted dead more than alive (because of honor and all) and Yagi was used to living off prize money from his winning his challenges not os much hunting someone down. This is what caused him to hesitate, this was not a challenge, this was a hunt and things like honor and respect played no part in it. The game and rules are different in Raelin and Yagi had to learn quick so he could not only survive in this new place but thrive as well. On a side note, his blade was getting heavy and that meant it has been too long since Queen last gave out her royal punishment, so this was everything he was looking for.

"The Swords Of Valor", huh? Sounds like a good challenge gotta start small though, the old man would be screaming about how I needed an plan and all that. Whatever right? Yagi was cursing his father, even if he was a whole continent away the man still had a way of worming his way back into the boys head. He taught Yagi everything and then threw him out in the worst way, cursed to wander until he learned some stupid final "lesson". Bullshit. Yagi felt that the old man could not take the heat any longer and feared being replaced, but its old history now and today is a new day. Yagi did leave with a parting gift, he stole the man's wakizashi, and Yagi could only hope he did not miss it.

When Yagi was about to ask for more information about the woman listed he noticed the man with the rifle staring at his swords."Hello? I'm gonna take Hemmings...she's a chick, right? Never heard the name "Gibril" before. Any more information on her?" Yagi said looking at the man confused then nodded at him, then turned his attention to the guard and proceed to mispronounce "Gibril". He then turned to the man with the rifle and lifted the blade (still sheathed of course) in front of him. "Did you want to see her, you're not a lady so she won't burn you." Yagi said, there was no trick or malice, just an offer, and a serious face.

Name: Shiba, Hato

Gender: Male

Age: 17 (real age 120)

Appearance: Hato stands at 5'9 and weighs in at around 155lbs. His purple hair is trimmed short down on the sides and kept a little longer on top, to create a lazy mohawk. The image is pretty accurate.

Personality: Meet your resident lazy swordsman, Hato Shiba. Even though he has a demon of many colors on his back he is the embodiment of sloth. He enjoys wasting away in the sun on a good day and relaxing under a warm blanket on a bad one. After his death, Hato lost his spark, he lost the color in his life and chose to live in a constant state of grey. He feels as though the "life" after death means just as much as life itself, and that you will not amount to any more than you did when you were alive. This thinking is what drove him first into a depression and then into a perma-high of laziness. He is not hard on taking orders and respecting authority comes natural, it is execution he lacks, most of the time the easy way is the best way (in his eyes). Hato would say; "Doing nothing is often the best thing in most situations, who are we to mess with the universe."

The only few times you can get him out of a nap and active is in combat. That flame he used to have while he was alive can be seen in his eyes, small it may be it is still there and comes alive in during the heat in combat. He is still a sloth, cutting corners, fighting dirty, not being an honorable combatant all so he can end things quickly and return to his grey haze. Cheap tricks and out of pocket gimmicks are no strangers to his fighting style, and his lethargic nature drives him to come off as disinterested and disrespectful to his enemies. Most of the time he can be seen yawning and with a rested glaze covering his eyes, in and out of combat. His actions are not a testament to his education or talent, the boy is smart, as reading is one of his few escapes left from his colorful reality, and his skill in some areas of combat cannot be denied but its application and execution that keeps him down.

But after he died and came to the Soul Society he was left with a bitter taste in his mouth and chose to live out the rest of his existence in sleep. He wanted nothing but to be left alone and to wander endlessly until it was his "time" again. Death at 17 left a bad impression on Hato and this only furthered his resolve to stick with his act of solitude, but that becomes a hard task after meeting the head of the Fallen Shiba clan.

She is a violent and brash woman who rocked Hato's fragile little world, she met him after he left his job and was on his way to find a place to rest his head. It was the middle of the night and from Hato's point of view it looked like she was being assaulted by three different men and something snapped in him, it was as if the little spark that was left in him went into overdrive and forced him into action. Now Hato, being the fool he was, did not know who she was nor could he recognize her strength, so when he made a scene to get their attention and ended up fighting the three of them to protect her "honor", it was all very funny to Kūkaku. What caught her interest was a flare of his reiatsu, he had a strong presence and she wanted that in her clan. After that night she would seek him out, no matter where he worked, and petition him into joining the Shiba Clan until finally, he did. Hato could not stand the constant bother she was and ended giving into woman's request, feeling like a weak fool for his lack of resolve.

His life with the clan was easy enough, he had duties was given an allowance and was not bothered much. Hato did not mind the minor training sessions and accepted most of the things he was taught. He also picked up his habit of reading while he stayed at the Shiba house. What Hato was not aware of was that Kūkaku was preparing him to join the Academy and become a shinigami. He had little interest in it, but Kūkaku had grown on him and become a new "mother" to him, so when she asked that he join, Hato could not refuse the woman who had pulled him out of his black pilgrimage, and into a sort of grey light (which he is still thankful for). On the day he left, Kūkaku gifted him with a purple sash that had their clans mark stitched on it, a memento to help him remember where his home is.

When he was accepted into the academy, Hato felt a sense of joy, something he had not been familiar with in a long time. As his lessons intensified, and training become more rigorous, Hato began to show skill in hakuda and zanjutsu. But his lack of control over his reiatsu slowed his progression. He graduated long after his peers did and without the skill to even use a kidō it was a slim graduation at that. Hato was told that the only reason he passed was due to his skills in other areas and his overwhelming reiatsu, but it was one of is teachers that reminded him that "a large bag of icing is only good if it can be used properly and not make a mess." During his time in training, he grew close to his zanpakuto, Iro no Akuma (even though he prefers not to use her), and it seemed as though she wanted him to graduate more then he did. They went forward and forged a strong bond, strong enough the Iro handicaps herself so Hato can properly use her Shikai.

Now a fresh Shinigami, still without a care in the world, Hata is trying his best to represent his clan and live up to expectations. He knows most think he should not even be in the Gotei 13, but that does not stop him trying to achieve his own personal goals. He wants to master control and for once be of some use to those around him, even that seems better than the lullaby sung by his bed or the seductive touch of his next reading.

Former Life:Hato was raised in a normal two-parent household in Okinawa. He had a younger sister who adored him, parents who tried to make sure he could grow up to be a strong man and take care of himself. Most would think that being surrounded by the pressure of so much love would make diamonds, but in Hato's case, most would be wrong. He hated the looks of love and joy, the happy times and most of all the caring. The was never any spoken reason as to why Hato was just abrasive. He wanted the conflict, the pain, it made people seem more real to him then the "love" he was always getting. As he got older he quickly became a delinquent, fights, ditching class, dying his hair, everything from a-z, until his family had enough. After a normal day of being reprimanded after a fight, Hato went home to find his parents waiting for him. It did not take more than three minutes for an argument to occur, and Hato was loving the wide and frustrated hand gestures, the angry tones, the flame of furry in their eyes. In that moment he thought the color red looked good on his blank parents. After the climax of the argument, Hato left the house (which is normal in this case) and as he was leaving his father called his name while he stood in the middle of the street, unbeknownst to Hato a car was flying down the small road and hit him before he had a chance to register what happened. He died an hour later while in a small hospital in his hometown.

Zanpakuto

Inner World & Spirit:

Description: Hato's inner world is a giant lake as far as the eye can see with a that looks close enough to touch and that stays have risen in the sky. At the middle there lies a wooden walkway similar to the design of the Ugendō Quarters in the 13th Division. This walkway makes a square and at the center of this square is a small garden with a cherry blossom tree that stays in bloom. A small bridge connects the wooden walkways to the garden, the walkway forms a square around the garden and the water within the square has koi fish of different colors swimming around. The spirit that dwells within this world is Iro no Akuma. She is a small teenage appearing young girl that always wears brightly colored yakuta and has a glint of mischief in her eyes. She can be seen most time with her umbrella drinking tea under the cherry blossom tree or walking throughout the walkways.

Zanpakuto Personality:

Iro is the representation of Hato's bottled up feelings. She is his vibrant, colorful, attitude that he does to show to everyone else. Iro helps him paint how he feels, the anger, the sadness, the passion, the love. All his feelings are shown through his spirit and her many shades. Iro is not an Akuma for nothing, she can be very mischievous and playful, not really taking things seriously and understanding the severity of the situation. One thing she and Hato share is the sin of sloth, both are lazy and see extra work as unnecessary. The girl loves to fish, one of the reasons Hato's inner world has a koi fish is so that she can fish for them, but she never catches any.

"Kessaku o kaku, Iro no Akuma" ("Paint a Masterpeice, Iro no Akuma")

Ability:
Iro no Akuma gives Hato the ability to agument his reiatsu with different elemental properties based off of color (i.e red is fire, yellow is air, blue is water). He can currently only apply the fire agumentation and even then due to his large amount of reiryoku and reiatsu he lacks contorl and focus so he ends up causing more harm then not. He has only be able to maintain his reiatsu (with help from Iro) to the extent that he can use Akai Oni (Red Demon), it is a simple slash the exples a large (and wasteful) amount of his augmented reiatsu that burns and scorches whatever it hits.

Abilities: Hato is showing promise as an adept hakuda practitioner and some talent for zanjutsu. His reiryoku and reiatsu are far above average but he lacks focus and this drove him to work harder in other areas so that he could be an asset in some way. Hato prefers to fight up close and personal to his enemies, sometimes even disregarding his zanpakuto altogether (if he does not need it). Despite his preference, Hato is a flexible fighter, often alternating between using his sword and his fist and attempting to catch his enemy off guard. If he can he prefers to end things quickly and smoothly before he is pushed into having to summon Iro. His hohō is average at best and due to his lack of control, he does not even attempt kidō spells.

Weaknesses: One Hato's biggest weaknesses is his lack of control over his reiatsu. This leads to major complications when using his zanpakuto and using any kidō spells. Even though he has an overwhelming amount of reiatsu he lacks the focus and precision it takes to properly manipulate it, this is the reason his progression with his Shikai is slowed and he is only able to use a single color. Aside from this, Hato is a lazy individual with a one-solution-fits-all kind of attitude, he likes to formulate plans on the go and is stubborn to boot. Most of the time making mistakes while going after little objectives instead of looking a the bigger picture.

Other: Iro helps Hato by regulating control over his reiatsu, this limits his ability to use more colors than red, thus stunting the use of his Shikai to its full extent.

Yagi looked around the guardstations with curiosity as he ate his warm pastry. Raelin was the first place that he visited in his exile, and it was living up to its reputation. Yagi came here first because he learned that the knights of this country are pretty strong and would give him a good challenge. He also wanted to get as far away from his shame as possible, Yagi was getting suffocated and this was a good change of pace for him. As he walked around the station he was listening to all type conversations...job this, and report that, it made no sense to him.

"-looking for a man to hunt." Someone said behind him. Yagi turned around and looked at the soldier standing close to the man with a gun. He never really cared about the weapons, but the proposition of a hunt sounded "fun". He hoped that this station contained his opportunity to find some strong opponents and test his blade against Raelin steel. So he looked at the board with interest, hoping to find the job for him.

Most would think that being surrounded by the pressure of so much love would make diamonds, but in Hato's case, most would be wrong. He hated the looks of love and joy, the happy times and most of all the caring. The was never any spoken reason as to why Hato was just abrasive. He wanted the conflict, the pain, it made people seem more real to him then the "love" he was always getting. As he got older he quickly became a delinquent, fights, ditching class, dying his hair, everything from a-z, until his family had enough. After a normal day of being reprimanded after a fight, Hato went home to find his parents waiting for him. It did not take more than three minutes for an argument to occur, and Hato was loving the wide and frustrated hand gestures, the angry tones, the flame of furry in their eyes. In that moment he thought the color red looked good on his blank parents. After the climax of the argument, Hato left the house (which is normal in this case) and as he was leaving his father called his name while he stood in the middle of the street, unbeknownst to Hato a car was flying down the small road and hit him before he had a chance to register what happened. He died an hour later while in a small hospital in his hometown.

Zanpakuto

Inner World & Spirit:

Description: Hato's inner world is a giant lake as far as the eye can see with a that looks close enough to touch and that stays have risen in the sky. At the middle there lies a wooden walkway similar to the design of the Ugendō Quarters in the 13th Division. This walkway makes a square and at the center of this square is a small garden with a cherry blossom tree that stays in bloom. A small bridge connects the wooden walkways to the garden, the walkway forms a square around the garden and the water within the square has koi fish of different colors swimming around. The spirit that dwells within this world is Iro no Akuma. She is a small teenage appearing young girl that always wears brightly colored yakuta and has a glint of mischief in her eyes. She can be seen most time with her umbrella drinking tea under the cherry blossom tree or walking throughout the walkways.

Zanpakuto Personality:

Iro is the representation of Hato's bottled up feelings. She is his vibrant, colorful, attitude that he does to show to everyone else. Iro helps him paint how he feels, the anger, the sadness, the passion, the love. All his feelings are shown through his spirit and her many shades. Iro is not an Akuma for nothing, she can be very mischievous and playful, not really taking things seriously and understanding the severity of the situation. One thing she and Hato share is the sin of sloth, both are lazy and see extra work as unnecessary. The girl loves to fish, one of the reasons Hato's inner world has a koi fish is so that she can fish for them, but she never catches any.

"Kessaku o kaku, Iro no Akuma" ("Paint a Masterpeice, Iro no Akuma")

Ability:
Iro no Akuma gives Hato the ability to agument his reiatsu with different elemental properties based off of color (i.e red is fire, yellow is air, blue is water). He can currently only apply the fire agumentation and even then due to his large amount of reiryoku and reiatsu he lacks contorl and focus so he ends up causing more harm then not. He has only be able to maintain his reiatsu (with help from Iro) to the extent that he can use Akai Oni (Red Demon), it is a simple slash the exples a large (and wasteful) amount of his augmented reiatsu that burns and scorches whatever it hits.

Abilities: Hato is showing promise as an adept hakuda practitioner and some talent for zanjutsu. His reiryoku and reiatsu are far above average but he lacks focus and this drove him to work harder in other areas so that he could be an asset in some way. Hato prefers to fight up close and personal to his enemies, sometimes even disregarding his zanpakuto altogether (if he does not need it). Despite his preference, Hato is a flexible fighter, often alternating between using his sword and his fist and attempting to catch his enemy off guard. If he can he prefers to end things quickly and smoothly before he is pushed into having to summon Iro. His hohō is average at best and due to his lack of control, he does not even attempt kidō spells.

Weaknesses: One Hato's biggest weaknesses is his lack of control over his reiatsu. This leads to major complications when using his zanpakuto and using any kidō spells. Even though he has an overwhelming amount of reiatsu he lacks the focus and precision it takes to properly manipulate it, this is the reason his progression with his Shikai is slowed and he is only able to use a single color. Aside from this, Hato is a lazy individual with a one-solution-fits-all kind of attitude, he likes to formulate plans on the go and is stubborn to boot. Most of the time making mistakes while going after little objectives instead of looking a the bigger picture.

Theme: Siege

Other: Iro helps Hato by regulating control over his reiatsu, this limits his ability to use more colors than red, thus stunting the use of his Shikai to its full extent.

One of Kay's biggest fears is commitment. His entire existence, Kay has watched his parent's marriage deteriorate beyond repair and that frightens him. What if he gets caught in the same toxic cycle? What if the love he desires really does come at a great cost? Its questions like this that permeate his thoughts every time a prospect comes along that show interest in courting him. Another big fear is rejection, and that one seems to have a home closer to his mind than his heart. He spent his entire childhood being told no, that his ideas were not good enough, he could use some more work, and that he would never be ready. Over the years he covered this fear up but it is still a major weight on his shoulders, to such an extent that he gets anxious when receiving essays back from teachers or when he is given any type of criticism.

What can you do when your progenitors are in the next room bellowing (quiet loudly might I add) about how much they are dissatisfied with each other? Most kids would listen, some would cry, shake with the fear and uncertainty in the future, but Kayleb picked up one of his fathers old Spiderman comics and dove into a different world. Kayleb was born in New Orleans, Louisiana, to the lovely Marie Anderson. She was a strong mother who raised three boys while climbing the power ladder in her law firm until she eventually became a power tycoon in the southern legal system. His father was Levi Carson, a plastic surgeon who was a famous for introducing "The Hollywood Fix" to the South. Both parents married out of false love and a need for money. Their union was a lie for their partners and investors, as well their three children (who they had out of wedlock).

Kayleb was the youngest son, and the last one still living at home, he was the knot that tied them together. Kayleb had a lonely childhood due to the fact that his parents refused to put him in the public education system and had him homeschooled instead. Both his brothers were off doing their own the thing, having been fed up with their parents, and would visit rarely. His mother and father were perfect in the public eyes, but at home, it was a constant battlefield. More times that one, Kayleb was a victim of a stray bullet or a misfired mortar, but he would suck up the pain of being called an "accident" and a "mistake". Even at a young age, he had to learn to smile and do it with the genuine spark that would help cover up his pain. It was on a summer afternoon at the age of six that he discovered the world of superheroes in tights and gun-wielding spies. His parents were in the next room blowing each other's brains out with their weapons of hate and malice, while Kayleb stumbled upon a box of his dad's old comics.

He sat for hours in the closet reading and reading, learning, absorbing, and slowing erecting a wall that he could use to block out the hate surrounding him. It was not until nightfall that his mother even called out to him and he came from his hiding place, after that he began to ask for more things related to this topic. Maybe it was out of pity, maybe it was because these were the only things that put a shit-eat grin on his 6-year-old face, but his father indulged and began to feed into his new found addiction. His father paid for it all; figures, movies, comics, games, tickets to events, anything to get that spark of joy back on his face and maybe not feel like such a bad parent. Kayleb loved it all, he was asked to keep up with his studies and playa sport, and in exchange, he got to meet his favorite actors, see the premieres for his favorite movies and get as many first editions as he wanted. Kayleb would call his pre-teen years the "Blissfully Ignorant Times", but that would come to an end at once he started high school.

It happens to all of us, it's like the veil is lifted, some rug is pulled out from under us, or the light is finally turned on, we become aware. We start to notice things, become exposed to different influences, and have all kinds of experiences. Kayleb was no different, freshman year was his first time dealing with other students, granted it was a private school but still the culture shock hit him like a train. He saw actions and attitudes he had only seen on social media or television, and for a while, his defenses crumbled and he fell into his own character. It scared him that outside of track and fiction he had no identity, no major likes or dislikes, no opinions on the hottest trends, no idea about sex or what he really liked. Like magic years of evolution kicked in within weeks of entering this new atmosphere and his fight or flight instincts drove him to fight and become better. His first two years were spent refining his character, becoming someone he could stand to look at in the mirror. His parents noticed his changes as well, the piercings, tattoos, new clothes, need for social interaction, Marie thought it was healthy that her "loner boy" was finally growing up but Levi (although he would never admit it) began to miss his boy.

As he got older and was actually living life, Kayleb began to take even grander steps in developing himself. Diving into his sexuality, his passion, while never losing his love for the comics that saved his childhood. In fact, the ardor grew even stronger and expanded into a whole new realm for him, showing him career opportunities and hopefully a happy life. At the end of Kayleb's sophomore year, Levi was offered a position at a private practice in Beverly Hills and his mother also had an offer on the table in LA. His greedy parents could not resist the guarantee of more money so they quickly packed up and left for Southern California. Kayleb was excited too, making more friends, going outside of the state for the first time, a real house (he lived in a condo back down south), and he would get to see his brothers more often since they lived there. As they drove down the 60, connected to the 10 and then entered Beverly Hills, Kayleb could only shake with excitement at his new life but his fears still held him at the neck. All the what if's and anxiety that came with them amplified the new school fears by 100. It was too late now, he was already moved in, the Carson name was out in the town and all he could was buckle up and prepare for the ride.
