One of the many round armored knights glanced and Jenso angrily, holding one of his stubby fingers between his eyes, as if to make a 'shoosh' motion. Jenso's loud mouth was certainly annoying those guys! What a bunch of assholes.

Appearance:


Damien isn't a very muscular man despite his lineage, standing just shy of 5'8'', weighing 160 lbs, and lacking a particularly defined muscular structure. His skin is very pale, and when the sun hits him just right, it's easy to discern his bones hugging flesh around his face, collarbone, and wrists. He has no visible scars to show off, but he has a strange obsession with baring his teeth whenever prompted to speak. His most notable features are the elongated canines that can be seen whenever he smiles, his white hair which he wears tied back in a long braid, and his pale silver eyes. He wears gloves to cover both of his hands, and does not have any jewelry, unlike the visual suggests.

When the moon is high in the sky, his features change slightly. His overall bulk increases substantially, noted by a somewhat visible muscular transformation, and a slight increase in height. His iris', once silver, fill with a blood red hue. Lastly, his canines become more pronounced.

In a word? Verbose.

Damien is a man of whimsical nature who finds joy in the strangest practices, particularly in those related to poetry and philosophy, which he projects onto his speech more often than not. It's often very hard to keep track of what exactly this man is saying most of the time, as the true meaning behind his words is often shrouded behind a plethora of confusing soliloquies that baffle and irritate the common man. Since he often speaks with alliteration, rhymes, varying tone, and infrequent pitch, it wouldn't be a stretch to call this man utterly insane. Although his behavior is constantly aloof, and he pays little mind to the feelings or queries of those around him, when he finds himself on the brink of death, or met with insurmountable anger, Damien's tone of voice changes to one of sincere rage, and his whimsical poetry evaporates, replaced with blood lust, and a grandiose illusion that he himself is an immortal god. There are also occasions where he will speak with a serious demeanor, but only when he truly fears for his life, or the lives of any who might be important to him, few though they may be.

History:
The Valefor family name is known well enough for its cursed bloodline, tainted by a unique mutation of vamparism several generations earlier when Sophia Valefor was attacked in her home by a creature of the night while giving birth to Damien's great grandfather. Fortunately, the baby had survived long enough for its father to return to his dead wife, who'd bled out long before the vampire's curse could turn her. The baby and all of its future offspring however, are doomed to carry distinctive marks of the vampire, setting them apart from other humans, and ultimately laying filth upon the Valefor name.

Many would be quick to exile any who carry this curse, and they have done so in the past. Damien's relatives, both living and deceased, are shunned by those who know of their family's horrible fate. The years have been kind to Damien's family lineage though, granting each new generation far less pronounced traits. Damien himself no longer thirsts for blood, despite having the strange ability to smell the crimson elixir through the flesh of man and beast alike over long distances. His physical attributes, although more significant in the moon's presence, are not grandiose enough to make his strength monstrous. Even his tolerance of the sun has improved, allowing him to walk freely in sunlight for nearly an hour before sustaining significant damage to his skin. Despite this all, Damien's temperament can sometimes overpower his more rational though processes in the moonlight, forcing him to quench a new-found blood lust before he can calm himself down.

Damien himself has taken up the reigns of a hunter, much like his great grandfather before him, wielding a ludicrous weapon with the intent to exterminate all evil beings within his reach to redeem his family name. At lest, that was once his goal. As time burrowed its way into Damien's resolute mind, it slowly carved away at his sanity. Eventually, his goals shifted to selfish desire, turning his occupation into a hunter into nothing more than a quest for thrills and vapid entertainment. As expected, this has preyed upon his reputation as a hunter, and continues to make his social life a hellish nightmare, but he could care less. A man's opinion was only as good as his sword hand, after all.

Signature Weapon:
Cross-Blade
The cross blade is a large broad-sword encased in cross-shaped sheath that Damien carries around on his back. When enclosed in its sheath, the cross-blade resembles a giant holy cross with the handle sticking out of the top end, engraved with golden details, and several rare jewels along its length. Its sheath can be used on its own as a powerful blunt-force weapon, similar to a hammer. The blade within is double-sided, and laced with a thin layer of silver, sharpened to rend flesh and bone with ease. The handle is guarded by a full basket guard, despite the blade's apparent offensive nature.
Vamparic Properties
-Attributes improve and change during the night
-Very sensitive to sunlight, but unless exposed for a long amount of time, it cannot cause him serious harm.
-An extremely heightened sense of smell for blood.
-Shares several other vamparic weaknesses, to a reduces degree

Yami ultimately smashed the bottom of his shell against the fallen Asus with enough strength to crush his entire upper body, including his skull. Three pirates dead now, with only two more to go. This is what came to stubborn rookies that couldn't accept their place in the world. This is what happened to amateurs! Perhaps it was Yami taking too much pride in his kill that distracted him, or maybe the force of his Kame~kame protractor stopped him from dodging. Whatever it was, he felt something slice into his left, front foot as he emerged from his shell. Abigail struck his tough skin, ripping a small cut in his limb before he lashed out with his head to try and bite her leg in return with his strong jaw.

Meanwhile, Zypha's attempt to light his spit on fire was a failure. It seemed that his ability was inherent, but the acid wasn't eating through the ground very well at all.

~~Nifty Nonsense in Newjinsland!~~

Newjinsland Central Square

_{Several minutes before the Royal carnival}

Ah yes, the quaint town of Newjinsland! Home to many different types of people, hustling and bustling through the dirt roads as they prepare for the passing carnival with great haste! Mundane humans left and right, exchanging greetings and wishes of luck for the upcoming pie-eating competition, Mages congregating in privacy as they muse over the joyous nature of this little town, and very short... Round people in armor? They'd apparently been part of the forces that made up Yeven's Royal guard, but they were so short, standing only 2 feet tall, and very... Round! Well, they were there to help set up the carnival, so maybe these little people were just a cheaper source of labor for the king! Good help is hard to find nowadays, after all.

Now where was the Carnival's host? Nearly everyone was prepared to witness his speech in the central square to kick of the festivities! It was practically a mob! Well, minus the torches, pitchforks, and general unpleasantness that accompanied such a thing.

The stage was set near the edge of the main plaza, but the curtain was still down. The little round men who were helping set up were lined up across the stage, but they didn't seem to be doing much, aside from mumbling to one another while peering at the crowd curiously with their beady yellow eyes, which seemed to glow from behind the darkness of their little helmets.

They seemed like swell fellas!
