I feel like Myriad Reality is somehow the secret glue holding this entire site together

People like to nudge aside the fact that there's a level of commitment to hosting, and joining an RP. The majority of players don't have it in either case, regardless of how interesting an idea is.

I've been gone so long that I forgot what the status bar was like. It's like coming back to an old apartment, except it's not an apartment anymore, it's just two walls and a lot of heroine addicts.

As Jenso dodged and the white blast blew a hole in the ground, the electrical bolt fizzled out. Jenso threw his fist forward, and the man rose his bow horizontally to block, but the sudden kick from below sent it flying into the air and out of his hands.
The electrical bolt curved around the rock effortlessly and headed for Jenso at a slightly slower speed, but the man responded to his second rock through by quick-drawing a white energy blast and shattering it to pieces. The white arrow of energy followed through and headed for Jenso. These white blasts seemed awfully strange, though. They weren't normal attacks.
The bowman's balance was upset, but as Jenso moved to punch as him as a follow-up, the electrical bolt from earlier curved around and headed straight for his back.
Jenso didn't have enough time to dodge with only one leg on the ground at the time of attack. The bowman's draw speed was faster than average, and the white stream of energy tore through the edge of Jenso's lower abdomen and crashed into the ground behind him. The bowman drew his bow again and fired off a crackling bolt of yellow energy that headed for Jenso's head.
The stream of white light struck the ground behind Jenso and scattered rocks in all directions. As Jenso moved towards the attacker, he rose his bow vertically to his right to block his attack, and pulled back again with another stream of white light, releasing it at Jenso from point blank range.
Jeff looked into one of the huts, letting his curiosity get the better of him. The room inside was small, forcing him to enter bent on his knees, but it was rather sparse as well. There was a pile of black berries near the far wall, and a small thick piece of paper next to them, as well as a crudely made bed of hay and dirt.
The voice didn't call back, but the bow-man braced himself, rose his weapon, and pulled on its drawstring. Though upon closer inspection, Jenso wouldn't notice a drawstring. Still, a stream of white energy appeared between his fingers and the tip of the bow, and in a few moments, it was flung across the plateau towards Jenso at top speeds as a stream of white light.
The man was crouched down, but slowly rose to his feet, clutching an ornate longbow in his left hand. He worse a red T-shirt and a pair of shorts that were torn to shreds around the right knee, and his hair was a messy, dirty blonde. As he turned, Jenso could see scars slicing through the front of his right knee and elbow, but what was more concerning, was the purple glow that replaced the white in his green, soul-stealing eyes. The man didn't respond, but Jenso heard a voice echo from behind him, somewhere within the mountain.

"Ohoho! Isn't this a scene to behold! Ki V.S. Ki, a maelstrom of rippling might that practically oozes with sex appeal!" A woman's voice cackled, "Two would-be Heroes forced to clash on the side of an ancient mountain! How cute! Give me a show to remember, my handsome boys~"
Jenso reached the far wall and began to climb, but out of the corner of his eye, something sparked and flew behind him. It spun around and struck the jutting rock that his hand had just latched onto, and created a small electrical pulse of energy that was strong enough to blow the rock apart, and make Jenso lose his grip on the wall. As he fell back down though, there was nobody in sight. The projectile that knocked him down seemed to come out of nowhere. That was until, somebody jumped down onto the plateau and landed behind him, facing away.
~ Chapter 34 ~

A Wretched Discovery

Further up the mountain, Jenso eventually reached a small plateau, just below the swirling dark clouds. It was large enough to fit a house, but there was nothing here, nothing except more mountainous wall to climb on the far end..
