I feel like Myriad Reality is somehow the secret glue holding this entire site together

People like to nudge aside the fact that there's a level of commitment to hosting, and joining an RP. The majority of players don't have it in either case, regardless of how interesting an idea is.

I've been gone so long that I forgot what the status bar was like. It's like coming back to an old apartment, except it's not an apartment anymore, it's just two walls and a lot of heroine addicts.

The fist beneath Jenso sunk back into the mountain, as did the one from earlier. As he climbed higher though, vines launched out and wrapped around him from the stone itself, and a hand emerged, fingers coming down to crush Jenso, who was trapped in the palm.
The woman didn't respond immediately, but she dropped to all fours and began crawling around him like a curious animal. "Void," She whispered, pointing at Ren. "Where did you come from."
Vale shook his head and snickered loudly, before looking back to Jeff as all the tension in his face melted away, replaced by a void expression. "Ra'Ja'Ka didn't kill you for a reason, there is no heroism to be found without challenging his resolve. Do you realize that? Are you even aware of his power, or the power of those who follow his greatest triumph? Of course not! Aiming high will only get you killed, fledgling!" Vale shouted angrily, unsheathing an ebony, straight-bladed Katana from a sheath on his back and pointing it at Jeff from afar. The blade's length revealed two lighter circles of white details near the base of the blade, which glowed with a soft intensity. He then offered Jeff a soft smile and tilted his head to the side.

"I believe in fate, m'boy, a fate dependent on what some may consider dead magic, from which taps, oh so gently, into the void betwixt our worlds. Do you understand, me?" Vale asked, shaking his head. "You wouldn't, couldn't shouldn't! Stupid boy! Alas, I find refuge in the story which depicts the order's ejection from this universe, I mind it very much as a possible outcome! But at your hands, as you are not, not even the slightest bit, weak little boy!" Vale twisted his sword vertically and pushed it forward slightly.

"You are needed elsewhere, yes?"
Orobo's fist was larger than a small house, and spread even wider when he unfurled his fingers. Jenso himself felt the earth around where he was grappling push forward as well, shaping into yet another fist. It continued to move out, faster and faster, attempting to launch Jenso off the mountainside. If he was launched, he wouldn't be able to return like Dacer had. Jenso had to find a flat area quickly.

Fortunately for him, the mountain was littered with relatively flat plateaus, but the closest landing was far above. He would have to make it there without getting launched off, or he would meet an untimely fate..
The path was no more treacherous than it had ever been. Wooden fences blocked off dips in the landscape, and signs marks dangerous expanses of swampland, or abandoned sections of the wood that had become overridden by beastly creatures. Oswald's path was simple, forward, and without pause. He made his way forward, up until the point where the trees grew so closely to one another, that their roots were entangles and their leaves suffered from a lack of nourishment. If they were not so tightly packed, sun would've shone through relentlessly.

Unbeknownst to him, somebody took advantage of this covering to sneak up on Oswald. He was walking for several minutes, unable to skew off the tightly surrounded pathway. But every time there was suspicion, the stalker dove into the trees like a termite. It wasn't a quiet sound, and Oswald would hear the scampering of something particularly large from behind. Somebody was following him.

The path eventually became far too over-grown to follow, but the trees were still thick. There was a small shard of wood embedded in the ground, surrounded by splinters that lay scattered across the grass. It read '-nger' just barely legible, and faded to a dull blue.

"Oswald!" A familiar voice shouted from behind, "It really is you!"

It was a shorter man, who looked to be in his mid-late 40's. Oz might have recognized him at Fredrick, or much rather, Freddie, the head woodsman. Well, the previous head woodsman, who lead many expeditions into the forest before the paths were even built. He looked much older, and wore the same work uniform as every other wood-cutter, albeit worn and torn, covered in stains, and a few sizes too large. Freddy smiles and opened his arms, approaching slowly. It was a strange meeting.

Especially since Freddie had been announced dead for over 15 years.
"Hardly," Vale spat, disgusted by Jeff's actions, "But you've met with the Choofa! What a wondrous day, I'm so relieved!" He cheered, raising his hands in joy. "Fate is a wondrous thing! So Wondrous! Jeff! My blade hungers for fate, and you have reached a point where I may be of service to your oh-so-horrid little existence. You wish to be a hero! This is true, yes?"
Tiger followed after Jenso, scaling the rock wall with Ease. Dacer groaned but nodded happily, and smiled when Jenso's eyes flickered. He'd never seen that before, and didn't make much out of it, but that was definitely the pure essence of Ki. Perhaps this wasn't a lost cause after all..

As the two made it further up the cliff, suddenly, a large rocky boulder jutted out of the wall and knocked Tiger off, into the sky. Dacer shouted, but swung his bow the opposite way, pushing the two towards a lower portion of the mountain. They landed hard and found their bearings. "What the hell!?" Dacer screamed, barely audible below Jenso. If Jenso looked up, he would notice that it wasn't just a boulder that jutted forward... It was a giant stone fist.

Found By The Lost

Ren found himself tumbling across a cold, red cobble-stone floor moments after his fellow villagers disappeared until he came to a stop, inches away from the bare feet of a short woman that overlooked him with black, barely visible eyes that sucked in the small amount of light that a few torches in the room provided. He body was covered in a suit of fluttering darkness that hugged her flesh and ended near her knees, neck, and elbows, and he hair was pitch black, just like her eyes. What was familiar, was her mask. It was just like the mask Nexus wore, but less separated from her being, as if it were a part of who she was.
Laura backed away from Ren, as did most others as a black mist enveloped his very being, pulling him into nothingness. "What the hell?" Ralph called out, rushing towards Ren's decaying body. "Ren? Ren!" He shouted, attempting to stop his friend from fading. But before he got close, a dark figure appeared out of a puff of black smoke, and stabbed its right hand, coated in sleek black energy, through his chest. As the smoke settled more, it revealed a woman's figure with darkened black skin, hair, and a pair of hollow eyes rested within an earthly mask that covered her already obscured face. She backed away from Ralph, and left him to fall to his death, disappearing again, along with Ren's entire body.

Within moments, Ren had vanished, and nobody knew where he had gone.

~ End Of Chapter 1 ~
"Um.." Dacer frowned and scratched the back of his head, letting out a faint, nervous chuckle. "It's kind of embarrassing actually.. Her uh, her weird magic made it really difficult to ignore her. She must've snuck up on me and gotten something into my body somehow, and then it was like, 'man I love this woman!' for a while. And uh... Then we kissed, and she lit a candle and I kinda just don't remember much after that. Don't even know how long ago that was," Dacer explained, pausing at random between sentences.
