I feel like Myriad Reality is somehow the secret glue holding this entire site together

People like to nudge aside the fact that there's a level of commitment to hosting, and joining an RP. The majority of players don't have it in either case, regardless of how interesting an idea is.

I've been gone so long that I forgot what the status bar was like. It's like coming back to an old apartment, except it's not an apartment anymore, it's just two walls and a lot of heroine addicts.

"The king is on an embassy trip to Tech-mo city. But you're welcome to tour the castle," One of the guards responded.
The crowds that gathered turned towards Alvios as he made his way forward. "Alvios!" A woman called out, followed by the echoed voice of her little girl.

"Alvie!" Little Rebecca said, rushing towards him. Her mother didn't even bother trying to stop her.

"You're just in time for the festival! I was about to get back to Jerry and get to work on the evening Pies- Do you think you could watch Rebecca for me?" The woman asked. How typical of Mary, to immediately ask a favor of the first capable person in sight. Alvios was known for his kindness, though. Would he really turn down a helpless old woman? Rebecca looked up to Alvios hopefully, bouncing up and down. Another day with big brother Alvie? The kid was always happy to get away from her mom.

Meanwhile, deeper in the crowd, a stream of jet-black hair squirmed between the people. Men and women were shoved aside as whoever the culprit was dashed closer towards the statue. Most didn't catch much of a glimpse of the blackened hair that followed her lithe figure, but it was most certainly a young girl. Curious though, as nobody who actually saw her could remember who she was.
@Kiss Of Night I'll leave this Hero tale up, cuz I kind like this one's start a lot, along with your character. Take your time!
Will post eventually.
YOU'RE ALWAYS IN MY THREADS I LOVE YOU ALL IF YOU'RE ACTUALLY READING THESE.

The Light Of Arcadia

The sun's warm glow beamed through Alvios' window with unrelenting strength, striking his bedside like it had done every morning to wake the boy from his sleep. Today was the day, Arcadia's festival of Lights! A rather mundane festival, created and celebrated to acknowledge the longest day of the year. The town would soon gather around the statue of its founder, who died over 500 years ago, their grand hero Helios who was said to have pulled the sun from space to light the world, to honor his give on today, his supposed birthday.

Unfortunately, nobody really knew when Helios was actually born, so the elders of Arcadia came together and decided it would be the longest day of the year, at some point. A lot of people honestly question the nonsensical mythology behind Helios and his feats, but they kept to themselves. No need for negativity on such a joyous day, after all.

Especially with all the free food flying out of the local shops in honor of the tradition.

Marble Floors And Castle Doors

As Jenso reached the castle grounds, he noticed that guards were lined up along the walls sparsely. It was strange. Not only were there very few of them, but they weren't wearing the armor that all of the other guards wore, nor were they wielding swords or magical artifacts. It looked like they had guns, but... Glowing metal guns. Were they magic? Even stranger, they all had black visors over their eyes that seemed attached to their skin.

The main courtyard was a large marble staircase, lined with at least 4 of the strange guards, and reaching all the way up to a huge pair of marble doors, where two more guards stood. As Jenso approached, they waved at him with smiles, as if there was no problem.
Jenso made his way to the castle, but in moments, he was spotted by some of the healers from the tent. They casually walked off, towards the healing tent. Minutes later, Sera stood outside the tent and held his walkie-talkie to his face, pressing the button gently.

"There's a problem."
