Hey remember when this site didn't have 3 tabs in the IC threads? Crazy.

I feel like Myriad Reality is somehow the secret glue holding this entire site together

People like to nudge aside the fact that there's a level of commitment to hosting, and joining an RP. The majority of players don't have it in either case, regardless of how interesting an idea is.

I've been gone so long that I forgot what the status bar was like. It's like coming back to an old apartment, except it's not an apartment anymore, it's just two walls and a lot of heroine addicts.

Vale closed his eyes and turned his head away from Jenso. "I'm not leaving Lark's side," He spat angrily. Lark chuckled under his breath and coughed a few times.

"It won't be much longer now, old friend," Lark said quietly. "Jenso, come here."
Lark laughed weakly and shook his head. "Pij's soul was exterminated by the red-coated devil. There's no way to bring her back, and without her, my soul has nothing binding it to this world. I'll die soon. But not before I help you," Lark announced. He looked to Vale. Vale looked at him, and then looked away. Lark creased his brow. Vale peered back over and shrugged. "Damien."

"What?!" He shouted.

"Tell them," He ordered. Vale frowned and rolled his eyes.

"Sera's Ki absorption device can't be reversed, but the king knew where they might've been hiding out. I can take you there to find Sera," Vale admitted.
Lark sighed and shook his head. "Five years ago.. When he was chased off of ancient Gaia by that masked woman... He must have been drawn to your unusually powerful Ki. Maybe he saw in you what I saw in Jenso." Lark began coughing heavily, and turned his head back towards the ceiling.

"Quit talking old man, you'll waste what little time you have left," Vale insisted, rushing to Lark's side and readjusting his pillow. He turned to Jenso as he remarked and grunted. "Lark insisted, didn't you see? I couldn't turn down such a stern order."
Lark frowned and looked towards Jeff. "You know my son?" He asked, wheezing through his words.
"I suspect Sera is the first Gaian energy that I feel. I couldn't tell you whether the second is Dacer or not. But I didn't even know Ross was alive until recently. For somebody other than Dacer to be walking around freely is highly unlikely," Lark explained.
Damien rose and cleaned his face, revealing his reddened teeth with a chuckle. Lark looked at Jenso and frowned.

"I know," Lark admitted, "I've known for a long time. But for the order of chaos to have kidnapped him... That might explain why I can feel two Gaians in this city..."
Lark looked over at the kings body after Jeff put him down and the bots began to examine him. Vale scoffed and shook his head.

"Rossario deserves what he gets, as far as I'm concerned. That renegade fool abandoned Gaia long ago," the vampire insisted. Lark shook his head. Vale looked at him and frowned before crossing his arms and turning his head away from the conversation. Lark inspected the king closely.

"That man will not survive. His Ki has been forcefully ripped from his body. Any attempts to revive him will, at best, give you a husk of a man," Lark explained. He turned to Vale and cleared his throat. "Damien, could you-"

Vale spun around and smirked, before walking over to the king and grabbing him by the arm. "Always a pleasure," He announced, before digging into the king's neck with his viciously sharp teeth. Mikey flinched in disgust and surprise at the sudden display of violence, and the med-bots backed away.
"Who is that guy?" Mikey asked, pointing to Jeff briefly.
Lark chuckled quietly, quickly tripping into a series of weak coughs. He sighed and turned his head to Jenso. "I can't summon my soul breaker anymore, I can't even walk. My Ki is fading rapidly, and my emotions are beginning to dampen, but you weren't in the wrong. If you hadn't fought Rajaka, he would have rampaged through Feralda, and killed everyone, including young Mikey here." Lark paused and turned to Mikey, who looked a little confused and alarmed to be acknowledged. Lark turned back to Jenso again with a wide smile, shining past the gruff stubble that lined his face. "Remember what I said, a loss is only the end if you let it consume you... Don't seek vengeance or act rashly on my behalf," Lark stopped hard on that last word and coughed quietly several times. He turned his head back to face the ceiling and sighed. "I'm such a hypocrite, haha... If only I was quicker. I could have killed Rajaka before his friend had a chance to assist..."
Lark's eye muscles tightened and Vale turned to Jenso slowly. "It's fine, Damien," Lark mumbled, clasping onto the vampire's wrist lightly. Vale sneered and pulled away from Lark, sitting down on a nearby op-table. Mike didn't jump down from his table, but he nodded to Jenso.

"Have it your way, Larken," Vale mumbled. Lark shook his head and smiled for a moment before his expression once again fell to pieces.

"Pij is gone."
