I feel like Myriad Reality is somehow the secret glue holding this entire site together

People like to nudge aside the fact that there's a level of commitment to hosting, and joining an RP. The majority of players don't have it in either case, regardless of how interesting an idea is.

I've been gone so long that I forgot what the status bar was like. It's like coming back to an old apartment, except it's not an apartment anymore, it's just two walls and a lot of heroine addicts.

The man facing Jenso took the strike, stumbling forward and dropping his staff. He was still conscious, but Jenso felt the hold on his powers slipping ever so slightly.

Both of the men in front of Bruce tripped forwards, toppling over the other two men, and leaving chaotic mess of bodies behind him that struggled to stand once again. They were quick enough, lining up their defensive line again. But instead of charging Bruce, they all went after Jenso, who'd been defeating their comrade.

Higher up in the temple interior, the large halls, lined with sporadic pillars, appeared to have walkways lining their tops. Two men had found their way into vantage points at either end of the field, and began firing arrows down at Jenso an Bruce.

Luke's eyes twitched, and he fell down on one knee, aiming his rifle up at the ceiling viciously.
Jenso's attempt to block the staff with a single hand was immediately disrupted. The force of the blow smashed his hand right out of the air and sprained his wrist. Without his prenominal strength, the power of a weapon easily outmatched his hand-to-hand abilities in strength and durability. The man followed up immediately, pulling the head of his staff back, and swinging the opposite end towards Jenso's head.

Bruce's opponents did not seem too frightened of the spears, readying their staves for combat. It was four VS one, and the tunnelers were far from helpless. They quickly rushed Bruce, one of the men narrowly ducking beneath his first thrown spear. Two approached from either side, swinging their staves overhead, while the other two charged him head on, aiming to ram the heads of their staves into his chest and gut.
The people here seemed ill-equipped to fight Jenso and Bruce, immediately losing their composure when they revealed their arcane abilities in combat. All but the two who had aimed their hands at Jenso and Bruce turned tail and ran off, each getting struck by a projectile of mud. But before Jenso or Bruce could follow up, their bodies suddenly lost every shred of energy within, and felt heavy, as if they'd lost their super-human reflexes, and magical abilities, in an instant. As Jenso lept forward, his fist struck the man's head as intended, but he did not go down, merely flinching before raising his staff and swiping at Jenso's body.

In a similar Fashion, Bruce's wall collapsed, revealing the three spearmen, now turning back with mud rolling off of their backs. They rose their spear to Bruce, who could no longer summon his weapons.

Took aim at the men cautiously from the doorway, waiting for any signal that he would have to step in himself.

Prove It

As Jenso Bruce and Luke ran into the temple, they were immediately swarmed by 5 men wielding staves. One of the men rose his hands up high and then pointed them towards Jenso, another to Bruce, while the other three threw spears made of wood at both of them.
Luke stood silent for a moment and looked at Jenso with a great deal of worry. Would he be able to do it? Even with friends like Bruce, could Jenso continue going forward unharmed?

~ End Of Chapter 95 ~
Luke spun around and grit his teeth. He thought about it for a moment, before slinging his gun over his shoulder, and nodding reluctantly. "Don't let them cast anything," Luke muttered, "Or you won't be able to fight back."
Luke shoved Jenso away and groaned in annoyance. "Jenso are you crazy!?" Luke hissed, keeping an eye out. "I'm not risking even a moment! That's all it takes, you turn your back, and bam, they're walking again! The electricity from this gun would kill them no matter what part of the body I struck, and even if it didn't, I'm not going to risk all of my people's lives just because you don't have the heart to kill," He growled, charging towards the entrance of the temple.
As soon as the three men ascended the stairs, Luke caught site of a man casually strolling across the balcony, reading from a script. He looked up at Luke, dropped his paper, and rose his hands in fear. Luke aimed quickly, and once again, popped the man's head with a shot from his lightning rifle.
"Bingo, there aint any other options to weigh," Luke mumbled, pulling up his rifle and immediately squeezing the trigger. In a flash of silent light, a bolt struck the child's head, popping it like a fleshy balloon. The child fell to the floor, and Luke stood up, with his gun at the ready. "Move!" He hissed, running across the clearing.
Luke slowly turned to Jenso and placed his hand over Jenso's mouth. "Are you crazy!? If that kid even hears the slightest upset in this clearing, we're dead!" Luke shook his head. "There's no wildlife, there's no tunnelers outside the temple. If something moves, that fortress of a temple goes on lockdown," Luke tried to free his gun from Jenso's grip slowly, without making a sound.
