People like to nudge aside the fact that there's a level of commitment to hosting, and joining an RP. The majority of players don't have it in either case, regardless of how interesting an idea is.

I've been gone so long that I forgot what the status bar was like. It's like coming back to an old apartment, except it's not an apartment anymore, it's just two walls and a lot of heroine addicts.

Geode didn't nod, but his expression detailed progress. The mechanical prison turned towards the blackboard and extended one arm towards a silhouette that looked like Jenso.

Ki, in its rawest form, is simply why defines us as individuals. Any living thing must have Ki in order to... Well, exist consciously. Even some plants with minimal levels of sentience can sometimes develop a spark, something I like to call a Fleeting Ki Crash. This type of spark is similar to the burst of energy that living things release upon dying. It allows a collective Ki to break through the fabric of reality, and sink into the void, which is the endless nothingness between worlds, an energy type that consumes all." Geode tapped Jenso's silhouette. "Jenso's Ki is the most common. Mikey referred to is by colour, but that was silly of him. Ki can change in colour between white and yellow rather easily within the natural spectrum of Ki, and if we were to define Jenso, he would be defined as having heroic Ki. I know that sounds too appropriate, but trust me when I say, I don't use the term Heroic to refer to his actions or destiny. Having heroic-type Ki does not make you any more morally obligated to do the 'right' thing. Heroic Ki is simply more reactive with emotions than any other sort of Ki. It has some of the most potential, while also being restricted by very glaring weaknesses. For example... Jenso's particular sub-class of Heroic Ki has found itself most accustomed to Anger, Hope and Courage. It is active, and reactive, allowing it to grow constantly, seemingly without a clear limit. Although Jenso over clocks himself constantly, and has damaged his soul quite significantly, his Ki type has the perfect composition for this. Thus, it has granted him access to astronomical strength and durability. He is the most resilient of us all, simply because his Ki has gone through the wringer so many times, likely from birth." Geode stopped and moved on to Bruce and Alvios.

"These two also possess heroic Ki. Bruce's particular composition has allowed him to build up overwhelming energy reserves, likely through some kind of repression, whether it be through discipline, or emotional baggage, is not my concern. Due to this, he main never exhaust his energy supply in a normal fight, and maintains rather amazing stamina and composure, but his attack power is gimped by that same methodology. That being said, his Ki takes a much lighter tone, and is much easier to manipulate, granting him easy access to manifesting physical reparations with his Ki. This is why he can create weapons so easily."

"Alvios on the other hand has the opposite problems and strengths. His Ki is absolutely explosive, making him one of the strongest outright attackers in our group. It's so powerful that it can actually convince other Ki sources to repair their hosts. At least, that what I theorise. I'm still not sure how his healing abilities work, they're actually quite outside my realm of understanding. Still, this is why his Ki is the most radiant, and darkest in coloration. It is dense, powerful, and easily expelled from his body in large amounts. Of course, this comes at the expense of control, as you might expect, making him less powerful than he might seem." Geode moved towards Jeff.

"Jeff's Ki is not of a Heroic variety. It falls under the second classification of Ki, Villainous Ki. Again, it has nothing to do with morals. But, unlike Heroic Ki, Villainous Ki is far more reactive to thought, and the arcane network. This makes it extremely difficult to control without a specific type of mind. Additionally, due to the fact that it cannot be improved in sheer power, or magnitude, the only way to improve Villainous Ki, is to improve one's control over it. This kind of Ki appears in all sorts of colours, but always maintains one crucial component to its makeup. It has far more potential that normal Ki in terms of flexibility, and can create some of the most powerful Arki components. Even though Jeff lacks the explosive power of Heroic Ki, his Ki is far more accustomed to arcane fusion, and has given him far better control over his body, which has improved his speed and agility astronomically. And then there's you," Geode groaned, slapping his hand against Oz's silhouette, "You do no have Ki."

"Well, that's a lie," Geode admitted, after a brief paused, "You do have Ki, or rather, you were conceived with Ki. But now, your Ki has taken a new form, that cannot be considered Ki."

"I'll make it simple for you. Ki, arcane energy, and void energy make up all matter and energy in the multiverse. They have rules that cannot be broken. Arki is not a true fusion, but can break some of those rules. However, when fusing void energy with Ki or arcane energy, the results are..." Geode shook his head slightly and tapped the last silhouette on the blackboard. It was a collection of figures that resembled the order of chaos. "These monsters."
Geode scoffed at Oswald's question. "Nothing you should concern yourself with. You're here to learn," Geode promptly directed Oz's attention to his lesson, written on a makeshift blackboard that Jeff had found for him. "I hope you don't mind low tech. I don't care for any of this city's technology." On the blackboard was a series of pictures, each depicting an outline of the trumps, including Jenso, all the way through to Bruce. "Today we're going to talk about your Ki. I assume you're already aware, your Ki has a unique tint, and property to it?" Geode sat down and pulled a chair towards him with his foot, prompting Oz to sit. "That's because your Ki is not Ki."

A Unique Power

Oswald was ordered to meet with Geode while the others maintained their practical training procedures. Unlike everyone else in charge of keeping the trumps on a strict schedule, Geode had other plans for Oswald. He waited in his room patiently, toying with the husk of a body he'd been left with after his confrontation with Jenso at the Golem citadel. Thoughts of his defeat still whirled around impatiently in his head, but he'd slowly become... At ease with the results.

Nexus Diary 2 - Where?

Several days earlier

Dacer posed with his shirt ripped clean off, flexing his muscles on command for Ada, who sat comfortably on her purple linen bed, with nothing but her covers to keep her figure concealed. Ada giggled to herself and twitched in place like an impatient school girl, "Oh yes! Having you by my side will be so much fun!" she shrieked. Just then, her door swung open, and she pulled her covered up quickly to cover her entire body. Nexus walked in, paused, and glared at both Ada and Dacer, while trying to ignore the piled up corpses that lined the edges of her dungeon-like chambers. Ada looked as if she was about to say something, but Nexus shook his head.

"I don't, and I'm being completely honest when I say this, I really don't care, and I'm sure you don't either." Ada looked at him blankly for a moment, and then smiled. "That smell is starting to seem out of your room, though. I would be nice if you cleaned up some of this... Mess."

"Please, you spend so much time asleep that it shouldn't bother you at all," Ada rebutted, lowering her blanket to expose herself freely. She stood up and snapped her fingers, allowing Dacer to walk off of his own accord. He stomped past Nexus angrily and headed down the length of the tower. "Be back before sundown, darling!" Ada called out with a gentle wave, "He's a nice boy, really, he is!"

"I don't care. I need something from you."

"Oh?.. Oh!!" Ada made her way across the room slowly, accentuating her hips until she found herself at Nexus' side, standing just below the height of his shoulders. "So that's how it is?"

"No. I need you to create something for me."

"Oh." Ada grunted, stomped back over to her bed and collapsing into the mis-matched ocean of ripped sheets that she'd collected. Some looked like they came from clothing, while others were far more refined. There were a few dresses mixed in as well, including her favourite violet gown that she wore when confronting Jenso in the past. "Is it something stupid and boring? I'm awfully busy, you see, recovering and all that." Ada face Nexus and sensually glided her fingers across the lower arc of her belly, just below the imprint that Jenso's fist had left. "I'm dreadfully exhausted." She huffed and mocked Nexus with a huff before dropping back into her sheets.

"Yzeira ordered this." Ada snapped back up and smiled ear-to-ear, beaming through her mask.

"Well! You could have just said so!"

"I did? Like, just now-"

"You've got no patience for any semblance of coy fun it seems. Pfah! What a bore." Ada turned on to her side and glared at Nexus longingly. "Well? What is it?" Nexus looked back at Ada hesitantly.

"Something alive."

As Jeff left the room, Mikey glanced back down at his hand. Part of his palm shifted in an out of a state of violet discoloration. He sighed and leaned over the edge of his windowsill. "Think about it, huh?" Mikey groaned to himself, "Thinking about it isn't gonna change anything.."

Mikey looked away from Jeff and rested his head on his head. "I suppose so." He didn't seem to enthused about anything Jeff said, but part of him lit up slightly. A sliver of hope that what Jeff was saying had some truth to it. "Sorry, but, I think I'd like to be alone for a bit. Could you tell Jenso that Luke will be training him, today?"
Mikey pondered the thought of sage mode. Maybe that's why he could never perfect it the way Jeff had. Even with everything he'd researched, even with his complete mastery of energy control, he just didn't get it. "You've known me for long enough to see it, haven't you? The way I act, and the way I think, it's... It's different now. I feel like, this whole strategy thing, this teaching thing, this was never me. The amount of growth I've made as a person in the span of only three months... That's not normal. It's not normal at all." Mikey looked down at his right hand. "When I first met Jenso, back then... I feel like I was just like him. Naive, haphazard, perhaps a little more coordinated, but privy to the same mistakes- There! There!! Just there!" Mikey grunted angrily, "Privy? I would have never said something like that a few months ago! I would have never been able to do anything like this. So, what changed?" Mikey pulled his hand to his chest and tapped a few times. "This isn't me. I'm not losing confidence, and I know I'm doing a good job, but all of this? None of this is who I was. It's almost like I feel... Like... I'm from another world entirely. Like I'm fake."
Mikey turned back towards Jeff slightly and lowered his head. At first he thought about shrugging it off as nothing, but as his head hung lower, he cracked under the pressure and nodded solemnly. "Jeff," He started, turning completely towards his friend, "Have you ever felt that you're.. Not yourself?"

Confronting Mikey

Mikey found himself in his room, near the back of the hero's guild. He glanced out his window, at Ross, who looked like he'd been taking in the scenery peacefully on one of the courtyard benches. That's just about the time that Jeff walked in. Mikey turned around for a moment, but didn't say hi.

Nexus Diary 1 - What?

Several days earlier

Yzeira sat at the base of his study's desk, resting his head against the palm of one hand as he read through his personal journal lazily. His eyes skid across the length of the book, held open with his thumb and index finger, while his eyelids drooped downwards.

Humans of U-255 are base level creatures with intelligence similar to most sentient humanoids. Maximum potential varies, but rarely dips into a realm that threatens the order. They pose no danger.

Elementals of U-255 are high level semi-sentient beings. They appear to posses abilities that allow creation on large scales, including the creation of new life and arcane facets. Maximum potential reaches potent levels of arcane mastery, but cannot scratch anything significant in the realms of Ki or Arki manipulation. They pose little danger.

Golem Origin Deity of the void. First encounter in U-255. This creature appears to have been created by someone with an understanding of void energies that rivals my own. His existence and sentience is an illusion, of course, but his cores are linked by something similar to Prisma's core mechanics. I assumed him to possess significant void mastery, though he has not achieved any level of unique energy manipulation like the members of the order. Geode, if he were to resurface with his complete body once again, would pose an astronomical threat to several members within the Order.

Vampires of U-255. I have only come across one specimen, but his capabilities continue to outstand me. Unlike other undead creatures that sustain themselves on a balance of Ki and Void energy, this individual has found himself in a stasis that combines the two into a newly discovered element that I have not had a chance to study. Unlike Adarine's Vamparism however, the malice strain of Voiki, this creature lacks the ability to harness the void directly. He does, however, retain a spectacular immunity to high levels of Ki-based attacks. I've considered approaching him with an offer to join the order, but his sanity has already been damaged significantly by his power. I assume him to lack the credentials of a viable candidate, completely. Despite his capabilities, this creature poses a moderate danger to the Order in his current state. His maximum potential however, might place him in the same realm as Adarine, albeit with slightly different capabilities. This warrants further study.

Gaians of U-255...

"Yzeira," Nexus called out. Yzeira promptly lowered his book. "That boy that Adarine was toying with. She left to eliminate him, but..."

"I noticed." Yzeira stood up and placed his book back into the inner left pocket of his coat. "I have a job for you." Nexus waited patiently by the door of his study, anxiously guiding his eyes across the thousands of books that filled his circular study, from the floor up, towards an infinite ceiling of pure void. "I want you to use our resources and follow that boy. Tell Rajaka and Zelriane, as well. Send them to that white castle town, the one with those idiot elf-kin. That golden fool is bound to end up there if he maintains his current path."

"You're not going to just kill him?"

"If his growth proves far too abnormal, I'll step in. I want you three to test that. Likewise, you are to probe his morality thoroughly when you have a chance. If there's any sign that he'll be swayed, then I'll extend an invitation his way." Yzeira made his way across the study as he spoke, ultimately passing Nexus and exiting through the large set of ornate double doors behind him. Nexus looked down at the floor and nodded to himself.

"Right. I'll work on that," He mumbled quietly, "After a quick nap..."
