Hey remember when this site didn't have 3 tabs in the IC threads? Crazy.

People like to nudge aside the fact that there's a level of commitment to hosting, and joining an RP. The majority of players don't have it in either case, regardless of how interesting an idea is.

I've been gone so long that I forgot what the status bar was like. It's like coming back to an old apartment, except it's not an apartment anymore, it's just two walls and a lot of heroine addicts.

As Oz's mist flooded the dome, her eyes narrowed. She stumbled across her spike-array, moving towards the edge of the prison with her hands extended, feeling for her path. Slowly, the ooze the flooded the battlefield actually began to return to its normal colour. What was more, it lost its more animated properties, falling into an immobile mass that mimicked the properties of an undisturbed lake. Ada grunted and rubbed her eyes carefully with one hand, quickly reaching the edge of the dome. She placed her palm on it, and began to overcome Oz's veil with her own void-infused Entropik Ooze. The colour of his barrier quickly shifted from where she put her hand. In moments, it would melt away, providing her an escape route. With the barrier and the fog hiding her position, she could move unseen. But the witch wasn't too keen on letting them get any close than they already had. She prepared the platform beneath her just in case.

'If they want a show, I'll give them a show'
Oh right, my timezone is EST. I'm usually active most days, but only on Discord. Speaking of which, Discord is probably the best platform for discussion, rather than using RPG directly.

I can dig pre-modern. I'm ok with any level of power, but I'd rather drift away from escalation if possible. Although I love the concept of ability growth, I'd rather not be involved in two RPs that have tons of characters scaling well into city-busting tier.

I think a foundation for magic is one of the foremost concepts that should be established for the universe. How does it work? What are its rules? Limitations? Origins? Etc.
Before any world building, what era will this be? Rich history? A Developing nation? Something more chaotic? Comparable to late 2000’s, 12th-17th century, medieval, or ancient?
I'm always looking for more committed role players to familiarise myself with. I have a couple projects myself, but nothing I'm GMing will see the light of day for new players anytime soon. With that in mind, I wouldn't be opposed to tagging along with another group and working on a different universe on the side.
The Order buster's natural defences weren't up to snuff. Unexpectedly, the tentacles, after being blasted apart, reformed immediately, and latched onto the giant, sluggish monster of a machine, stopping it in mid-flight. More tendrils rose up, grasping onto its legs tightly, to keep it from moving, began changing to a darker hue, and solidifying around the robots lower joints. There was no escaping now.

Meanwhile, Jeff's path was cut off by a series of walls that rose, one after another. A moment after he split from his clone, his real body was overcome by a tidal-wave of pinkish sludge that blocked his path and began to wrap around him, zoning him away from Ada. Dacer flew overhead, raising his altitude until he was above the cloud line. The archer licked his lips against the fierce winds, before slowing his climb, and moving slowly over the battlefield. He began to channel Ki into both of his claws, but before he could assist anyone, Oz easily sped around the oncoming tendrils like some kind of human pinball. The Gaian eyes Jeff, channelling his Ki until it reached optimal density, high in the sky. Nothing went after him.

Back at her platform, Ada kept her vision focused on Oz, despite having a detailed view of the entire battlefield. Jeff's clone, the one that had gotten past her barricade, was met with yet another barricade of a similar fashion, which wrapped around him and forced the clone to either retreat, or be consumed. Oz's initial attack was met with a sudden jutting fractal of smooth purple glass, that erupted from the platform she stood upon like a diagonal wall, and diverted the force-spear away, before lowing again into the nicely smoothed out arena below her. It moved like a machine, fast, precise and rigid. Ada herself wasn't about to Let Oz get anywhere near her with that bubble anytime soon, though. The tendrils, despite being torn apart by the order buster's attack, reformed behind Oz, and fell back towards him, looping around and moving to pinsir him from behind with a slowly forming wall of purple spikes. From below, the moment his disc began to expand, shimmering spikes shot up from the crafted plateau all around Ada, halting the barrier's expansion at several points, and jutting beyond its scope by several yards. Hundreds of them made it past the barrier's range before Oz could complete it, leaving little spikes to poke out of its walls, and by extension, gaps for Ada's eyes to peer through by the time it reached the edges of her arena. The spikes were opaque, and almost glass like, but signified Ada's ultimate density; She'd created matter that could withstand even Jenso's Omega saw. Although its density was absolute, the one-inch diameter of the little spikes made it clear that she wasn't about to be liberal with it. At any rate, despite the barrier halting her physical movement, she wasn't sealed from the majority of her ooze. Ada began to conjure a slick of sludge at her feet the sped towards the edges of the bubble once again while moving around the base of her spike forest, like it had done before, to get a head start on shattering the irritating defence before she would have to deal with anything in close quarters.
Dacer's body wobbled slightly, but he retained his balance a few moments later once he realised he was standing on... Something. The cat-man looked down, and then around, and then down again, before baring a toothy grin. "Isn't this just somethin' else!," Dacer shouted, his breath laden with a nostalgic informality. He nodded to himself as Oz's voice crackled through the phone. "Reading you loud an clear, big guy. I'll do my best to keep these things off of you, Jeff. That saw of yours, Jenso's saw, might be able to break through her defenses." Dacer looked down at his free hand and flexed it carefully. "When I tried to stop it with my Ki Overhaul, I felt that thing actually pierce through my inherent ability. I didn't even think that was possible. So, if that stupid Frisbee can overwrite my abilities, it just might be able to break through that darker stuff." Dacer rose the walkie to his mouth and smiled. "We're gonna hit her. If that doesn't stop her from keeping you away, nothing will." He turned to Jeff and nodded. "Fortunately for you, I was one of the best surfers in Thoris!" The Arki in Jeff's wind-board suddenly shifted in colour, until it was totally under Dacer's control. "Alright then, let's deadlock this bitch." With that, he took to the sky, prepared to cover Jeff's approach as best he could.

Ada didn't let Oz fall freely while Dacer was talking things over. Several more tendrils launched up the moment Oz passed the cloud line, all aiming to take advantage of his downward momentum. Dodging like that wasn't likely, after all. Beneath the tendrils, the goop at the base of Ada's miniature mountain began to bubble and lighten in hue, spreading out across the entire battlefield, and moving into the tendrils that went for Oz as well. In an instant, every last square inch of her sludge had been made heavily acidic.

The Order buster was next. Two more tentacles lashed upwards from underground, aiming for its feet moments after it unleashed its tornado attack, both sporting a pinkish tone as well. At the rate it was moving, they would catch it mid-air easily, and begin to tear it towards the ground.
Dacer quickly slipped on the visor, but his hair stood up on end and he tore them off, handing them back to Jeff. The phone however, he slipped into his pocket. "Those things hurt my eyes," He muttered. He looked down at the small blobs of pink as they were blown away, but a few clung tightly, and refused to be removed by the fierce wind. What was worse, several more spheres launched themselves upwards, latching onto the sides of the robots legs. The few that remained after Jeff's gale kick, began to eat away at the metal that composed the leg, slowly but surely working their way into the inner workings of the robot. Several of the orbs even launched themselves directly at the jets beneath the robot's feet, in greater number. "About that..." Dacer turned towards Ada as the robot recoiled slightly from the twin-laser attacks. The tentacles that headed for Oz dodged the laser headed for them, and launched themselves right into the air, following Oz as closely as they could before losing speed, and falling back into the sea of goo below them. He'd gone just high enough to get out of their reach. Ada cringed, and a solid wall of dark goop rose halfway between her and the robot, quickly solidifying into a darker colour, and blocking the laser. Upon impact, the wall shook slightly, but didn't falter at all. Dacer shook his head.

"The darker her shit gets, the harder it is to get through it." He looked down at the pink globs below them. "On the other hand, it looks like lighter colours mean that, uh... It's better at killing things?" Dacer retrieved the phone from his pocket and pressed the button that connected to Oz.

"Bud, I think you're the only one that'll be able to get anywhere near her without being in immediate danger with those walls of yours," Dacer said, loudly enough for Jeff to hear him as well. He paused and lowered the phone, racking his brain as best he could. He turned to Jeff and then back to Oz, who looked as if he wasn't being pursued above the cloud line. "If you have anything that can directly touch her, It'll likely force her to focus on you. But, even if we get an opening, no amount of distraction will stop her from putting up one of her stupid bubbles. And unless she doesn't see an attack coming, or we have a way around her goddamn shield, we're not going to make any leeway here." Dacer waited for Oz to respond patiently, glaring that the woman from afar as the beam clashed with her monolith of hardened slime. While that happened however, a sudden pair of tendrils rose from in front of the robot, and clung to both of its arms, while the ooze between them began to brighten in colour again. Dacer looked down and cursed under his breath.
Dacer buckled from the take-off of the Order buster and watched as Jenso ran off and kissed his teeth. "Whatever," He muttered, turning back towards Jeff, "Looks like that burly fellow's already got himself caught," He commented, motioning his head towards Oswald in the distance as he narrowly escaped one of Ada's attempts to surround him. "You got another one of those talkie-things?" The archer de-summoned his bow, and whistled loudly. Tiger burst out of some nearby Ooze, grown to his combat-ready size, and landed near Dacer. The man put a hand on his animal's back and the two began to glow lightly. He glared at the saw that Jenso handed to Jeff. "We're gonna have to coordinate with that lummox, and I don't wanna be out of the loop." Tiger disappeared, and Dacer transformed immediately, re-achieving his One With Gaia form. "And if you two have a plan, then by all means, use me."

Ada grit her teeth and bounced up and down as her platform shook. The goop below Oz fell back into the oceans beneath it, and several more tendrils rose up to attack him, one after the other, launching themselves right out of the sea of ooze, fast enough to move far past Oz, into the sky above him. The order buster was still under siege as well. Though her Goop in front of it was stalled momentarily, it quickly gathered itself back up, and spread underneath the now-flying machine. Several hundred tiny sphere of liquid shot upwards, coating the bottoms of the Buster's feet and legs in quick succession. The hue of the little orbs was far lighter than her ooze's usual colour, appearing lilac rather than a deep plum. Ada's platform, in the meantime, began to stabilise and solidify itself into a miniature plateau. From far away, it looks almost like a circular arena, with Ada standing in the center. Her mask tightened with the muscles in her face, and a large intricate symbol began to form beneath her, as dark etching in her otherwise perfectly flat and somewhat glossy arena.
Ada's mouth pouted as the robot's blades rose into action, and her restraints around the buster's arms were blasted away. But as it was about to fire its attack, the goop that clung to its legs pulled it off balance moments before it was blasted off, forcing one of the blades to fly over Ada, while the other struck the ground beneath her, doing nothing to upset her balance. Ada on the other hand, preemptively rose several walls, meeting the sniper shots before they came anywhere near her. She couldn't stop the one headed right for her, but it slowed enough for the woman to narrowly side-step that attack. The second shot, after curving around, was met by a few pillars of ooze, erasing it completely. The woman's eyes followed Oz, however, as if she wasn't even paying attention to either Jenso or Jeff. It was like the goop acted of its own volition. She didn't even respond to Jenso when he spoke, but, like clockwork, a path opened through the Goop, straight towards the Tower. It was intended for Jenso, and Jenso alone, of course. She turned her back to Jeff and Dacer, as Oz circled her. As he got closer to her mass of sludge, it rose up and began to surround him from all sides, like a giant maw.

The order buster was faced with another onslaught of tendrils while this happened, each latching to its legs, twice as dense this time around, to avoid letting its pulses blast them off so easily. In front of the robot, where Jenso, Dacer, Jeff and Oz were standing a small while ago, something began to bubble, and the ooze around there changed its hue, to a more violet colour. Jenso could hear Ada's voice for only a moment.

"Walk"

Dacer turned to Jeff briefly and froze, before shrugging. "I don't know. Her eyes see, like, everything. So, I don't know if bright lights can overwhelm them."
"I can't carry people when I dash anyways," Dacer hissed, "And we won't be able to divert her attention. Those eyes of her can see everything, and her stupid Ooze is just getting more widespread. But if we lay enough pressure onto her, you might have a chance to slip by." He looked over to the tower. "If I'm remembering this right though, the guy in red wants you in there. So..." He turned to Jenso and shrugged.
