He's naturally curious of other people and he's not lacking confidence exactly so you would think he would be more sociable, but nope. He has very few friends, mostly due to rarely ever talking and being stuck in his own head. He enjoys learning, but typically dislikes school, finding it extremely dull and depressing, especially when it comes to the subject of history. If one were to befriend Thomas they would find him a loyal, smart and humorous friend, although probably a little boring when it comes to hobbies. He's relatively introverted, much preferring a quiet hangout to a party or anything like it. Unfamiliar places make him feel on edge.

In England Thomas' residence would be known as working class. In the U.S he doesn't know what to call it, but it's pretty much the same deal. The poor but not quite the projects neighborhood basically. Small house, two bedrooms, small kitchen and a living room. The house itself tends to be very dimly lit, often times the curtains going unopened for a day or two. If the house were lit up you would see that it's just decorated enough to be considered a home. There are some photos on the walls, a painting of a couple of angels, one of European Jesus, a calendar and that's about it. In Thomas' room there's an old laptop, a small plasma TV, an Xbox One and a bookcase. Then of course there's the twin bed and a small chest of drawers.

Thomas had a bit of a fucked up childhood and it would take forever to describe every event that damaged him, his mother or his life in general. Basically though dad was a criminal. Not in the mafia, or a biker gang, or anything dramatic like that, just a petty criminal. Insurance fraud, drug dealing, burglary and the rare shop/store robbery. All of those things Thomas could have lived with if he wasn't also an alcoholic who spent almost all of his money at the pub and then would come home, shout the place into Oblivion and smash the place up in full view of his children. Suffice to say, he was a bit of a prick. So Thomas' childhood was one full of crime and craziness.

What's worse is he passed his life onto his children. Thomas was always a sweet boy, and his brother did what he could to keep him out of trouble, even if that mostly involved telling him to fuck off whilst he and his friends went to burgle a house, commit a street robbery or do whatever else. Either way, it mostly worked, Thomas only ever committed relatively minor crimes, at least compared to his father and brother. Graffiti, vandalism, shoplifting, the occasional street fight, but all of those bar the fighting were before he was twelve years of age, with a couple of notable exceptions.

His parents split finally when he was eight but unfortunately the damage was done. His mum had severe depression and anxiety which she coped with by smoking copious amounts of weed. There are far worse drugs for a parent to be dependent on but cannabis is still expensive, especially for the poor. The habit put strain on an already strained income and is still an issue in the U.S. 

Thomas doesn't feel like he's lived much of a life so far. All he has in his mind when he thinks of himself are fucked up memories and him slowly drifting through things such as school, which he goes from disliking to hating on a regular basis. Thankfully his life has been shook the hell up in recent years when his brother fell in love with a girl in the U.S, and with his brother being the only one with a job, his father estranged and in prison and both Thomas and his mother not having anything special in England to keep them there it really was no big thing to move. Aside from all the immigration of course. That sucked, and was very expensive.

Now, Thomas basically just wants to feel a little more alive. Perhaps make some good memories to help drown the old.

Thomas and Indie met in the library a couple of months ago, getting into a conversation about a certain author and carrying it on from there. In the time since they have become pretty close, she knows as much about him as almost anyone else in town, except Kas. Thomas considers her a good friend and is secretly attracted to her. Her current relationship along with other issues have prevented him from voicing his feelings thus far though and he's currently unsure if she still even considers him a friend. They haven't spoken in a little while.

Thanks to Abbie's outgoing personality she was Thomas's first friend in Arrowsmith. He's not sure if he and Abbie could act any differently from each other, but he finds her attitude incredibly charming, if not damn inspiring. He sometimes feels on edge around her due to her unpredictability, but even that he finds fun most of the time. So far she's been very successful in making Thomas forget his cautious nature.

Due to his part Iranian blood he is slightly darker skinned than his cousin, basically a slight tan color. He has black hair which he keeps short, typically with a buzz cut and his eyes are a dark brown. He has a lot of scars, the visible ones being on his knuckles, face and neck. The ones on his knuckles are short and somewhat faded. He has one on his face that runs down across his left eyebrow and one on his neck that runs horizontally from the front right side of his neck to about 4” across. He dresses the same as his cousin, wearing hoodies and jeans mostly, with sneakers in various colors.

Others might consider him a bully, but he doesn’t consider himself one. Yeah he’ll flip out and probably get violent at the slightest provocation but he doesn’t go looking for people to be cruel to. If one were to somehow befriend him they’d have to have quite the thick skin, for his attitude won’t change much even among his friends. He’s an incredibly bad influence and will almost certainly end up getting himself expelled.

His mother raised him pretty well for a while but had various mental health issues and was drinking almost constantly by the time Sonny was ten. She died herself a couple of years later when she was out drunk as all hell one night and got into an altercation with a cop. She ended up getting tasered and well apparently even non-lethal weapons can kill. Kind of goes against the fucking point, huh? 

At that time Maria took custody of him. She had her own mental health and addiction issues but she wasn’t near the level of toxicity as Sonny’s parents had been. Unfortunately he was already too far gone. He was in a gang by the time he was eleven and spent the next several years selling drugs, holding weapons for older gangsters, getting into violent fights on the regular and even stabbing a couple of kids for stupid reasons.

At the age of fifteen he’s already been shot at, stabbed, been in half a dozen knife fights and sold thousands of pounds worth of drugs. The only reason he decided to willfully go to the U.S with his adoptive family is because he believed there’d be a far more profitable drugs trade there. This is a kid who is very, very far gone. As for what he wants in school? Nothing. It’ll be a miracle if he isn’t in prison or dead before the others graduate.

Thomas and Kas are very, very different people, but they've been through a lot together and have lived in the same houses going on three years now. They're like brothers, they don't always agree with each other and sometimes their relationship can be damn awkward due to disagreements, but they've both got love for the other. Kas himself secretly looks up to Thomas, there weren't many kids like him on their estate. He admires his apparent uniqueness.
