Appearance:
Martin is a light skinned young black man. He is not really that good looking but somehow has a roguish charm about him. His eyes are dark brown and more often than not bloodshot, one of his otherwise frighteningly white teeth is made of gold and his hair is cut very short. He wears almost exclusively black and white, mostly a open black jacket and pants with an open white shirt and tons of silver rings and jewellery. A big Coffin is tattooed on his chest and he never leaves home without his wide brimmed black hat.
History:
Martin was born to Haitian Immigrants in the beautiful city of New Orleans. The night he was conceived by his parents Baron Samedi possessed his father to the knowledge of both his parents. Other than most Scions Martin learned quite soon that he was no ordinary human. His divine Father appeared quite regularly to him to make sure he would grow up to be a good scion.
In his youth it was easy for Martin to make friends. Even though almost everyone considered him weird or kind of "off" he was just too charismatic and always the life of any party. This all changed when both his parents died when he was 19. His weirdness increased and he began to take even more after his divine father. Martin began visiting the cemetery of his parents every day and eventually became its gravedigger and caretaker. This was also when Baron Samedi appeared to him bringing gifts.
Abilities/Skills:
Martin is in quite good physical shape and has no problem with manual labor. He is also quite charismatic and even though he is a strange man most people are intrigued enough to invite him to any party. He also knows how to brawl, at least on a basic level.
Supernatural Abilities:
When buried by any type of earth, stone or dirt Martin will survive. This saves him from being crushed or suffocating, however not from starvation or thirst.
Birthrights:
⚰ Pèl le Pousyè: An old Shovel fashioned from the wood of a gallow tree and iron from molten slave chains. This ancient birthright marks its user as the guardian of the cemetery and was once used by Baron Samedi to dig the graves of the deceased.
Martin can use this shovel to shape earth and dirt beneath him. He is able to move about 10-20 times as much earth as he should be with it and create simple structures. Its strength is increased when used on the earth of a graveyard.
⚰ Likid Lanmò: A bottle of old fashioned rum that never seems to empty. When poured on a grave Martin is able to commune with the spirit of the buried.
