The KFC for Christmas thing is pretty bullshit. That being said, even eating something as absolutely awful as KFC "Chicken" doesn't hold a candle to how devastating anime is to our young American men and women. It's one of those decline and fall level things.

I've always heard from Americans that KFC is terrible but I really like it here. Apparently KFC Canada is PETA approved for using special chickens and special butchering methods and whatnot, maybe that has something to do with it.

Trump isn't a white supremacist and has never said anything even approaching the subject of one race being superior to another. This is what I was talking about when I spoke of scarecrows and cardboard cut-outs.

President Trump isn't going to treat the Japanese Prime Minister poorly for being Asian. The reasoning for that is inherently obvious but I guess I'll explain anyway for your benefit. Even if Trump actually was a nativist and a white supremacist, that kind of behaviour wouldn't make any sense; those ideologies are about making America white, not about installing white leaders in random Asian countries. If anything, Trump would treat a Japanese PM harshly because of trade deficits with Japan or something.

If Trump wins in the end and becomes the president then racism in US is probably beyond just a hopeless issue. And the world will hate America even more than we are already now.

If Bernie Sanders became president, the United States would not run out of money within a week, unemployment would not sky-rocket up to 50%, violet crime rates wouldn't triple and America would not become a Soviet Socialist Republic.

If Donald Trump became president, the United States would not nuke Mexico City within a week, the incarceration rate would not sky-rocket to 50%, the poverty rate wouldn't triple and America would not become a fascist dictatorship.

People from different ends of the political spectrum need to learn how to respect and empathize with one another. Two people can have the same goal and different ideas of how to achieve it. An election isn't about siding with one pack of rabid, partisan wolves or the other, it's about deciding which set of ideas you think are best and politely disagreeing with the other set. You aren't changing anyone's mind or making your country a better place by cussing out a cardboard cut-out of the person you disagree with, or setting a scarecrow in their likeness on fire. If you have a lot of friends interested in politics, you should be able to think of at least one that might not vote for the same party as you come election day.

I'm dropping A Gilded Throne.

I have things going on right now in real life that are a greater priority for me than this roleplay. However, I won't pretend that the roleplay itself, and the actions of those involved in it, haven't informed my decision. We have collectively taken a tighter turn away from the realism originally emphasized at the roleplay's start than I can tolerate, with the inclusion of non-human races the most notable example. A number of distasteful OOC actions, like retconning week old IC posts, having all of the main Emperor contenders run by the same person, and players stating outright that they never read other players IC posts, have also impacted by decision. We can't have a functioning roleplay if the rules are elastic and none of us are aware of the events of the story outside of our own character(s) bubble.

Hopefully with me gone you'll all be able to ride dire eagles from place to place to your heart's content without worrying about mean old Nex telling you off. Maybe less player engagement and more elastic interpretation of the rules is exactly what we need. Enjoy the RP.
