Current I love those times when you've got a few really good, high-potential stories in the making and all you wanna do is write. It's like all my stars have aligned.

I also feel like the idea that there is now a hypothesised generational divide between people who used to 'RP' on IM and people who write good content on forums is pathetic. Why start this crap?

You could also have long-form stories over text, however complaining about long-form, detailed posts (as this began as), seems both ludicrous and worthy of IM.

Sometime it's less about writing some shitty slice-of-life RP in IM, and more about creating a coherent and valued story among like-minded people. Something you'd need an actual platform for.

I always forget how quiet it is here in the British mornings. Timezones are not our friend.

Is this still open?! I did a bank robbery story once on OldGuild and I still fondly remember it, and I've been looking for another since then!
I'm interested. Don't want to say sure I can commit because this is my first post in a while after I just stopped, but I'll definitely stick around for as long as I can!

No worries, I know how you feel! If I can help, let me know.

I'd be interested, depending on plot specifics. Something like Die Hard in a high school.

Kind of... and kind of not... I suppose in the sense of a 'siege', possibly, but we would instead be on the inside, trying to stay inside. Okay, Die Hard not so much, I'm more thinking Assault on Precinct 13. But the school part is definitely right.

This looks really interesting. Would this be a boarding school?

I was undecided between a normal school or boarding school, but I figured it would be much more hassle for the characters to adapt to life within school walls if they were never designed to be lived in 24/7. In a boarding school, you already have your dorms and such.

Question: will the students have some kind of powers or will they just be normal students stuck in some sort of war? Anyway, you have my interest.

Just normal ol' students stuck in a war.

However, leading on from my reply to Travesty's question, I had an idea about the plot. An unexplained eclipse occurs (unusual because these things can be tracked hundreds of years in advance, they don't just happen) which results in total darkness for a period of time. When it lifts, something feels off about everything. You can't pin your finger on it. Shadows evade your sight, and some people are plagued with nightmares of untold horror. Eventually, the enemies which flood against your school are an abhorrence. Half soldier, half indescribable creature who are pure evil to their very core. They seek nothing but your spilled blood.

There's a rough idea that I thought up earlier today. If you don't like the supernatural aspect though, I am still happy with the soldier-siege. I didn't know if anyone would prefer if there was some mysticism thrown into the mix. Despite the way things seem though, no-one gets any powers, besides from the nightmares which are part scare-tactics and part prophecy sent from the enemies.

Let me know what you guys think.
It's been a while. A long while. So bare with me if this seems a little rough.

I'm saying this is a Casual-Advanced because I will be content with anything ranging from two medium-sized paragraphs to a very sizable, upper-level Advanced post. I want to be open to others because they may not be able to write a lot, but they may bring a helluva good show to the story.

I'm not sure whether a small group or a large group would be better. I've always found it difficult to write in a big group, people fall apart into smaller groups and it isn't a singular story anymore, but a thread of smaller stories. However I also feel that a larger group may be much better, we can diversify the characters so that the fit roles in the story, and that all the roles are filled.

Story time! It's kind of a story that's been rattling around in my head for a while. I'm not sure why, but an event occurs and a school is held under siege by attackers. I'd prefer it if the enemies were human compared to something supernatural or alien, but give me something good to roll with and we can definitely sort something out. You, as the character, need to defend your school and set up a working community with your fellow survivors. Because I am actually a teenager (I feel it's mentionable; on OldGuild I was accused of being a pervert because all my stories were based around teenagers my age, him being unaware that it's literally all I know to write about), it's pretty much going to play out like a grim YA novel. Fling some romance or whatever in there (keep it PG guys...), but there will be some strong language, strong violence, and gore.

I have this idea that each writer will fill a role, and will help advance the group through their specialties. If you've always wanted to know more about medicine and trauma wounds, then why not apply for the medic position in the story, or the medics assistant! If you want to try something new but don't want to potentially ruin anything, that would be good, but I'd love to see people branching out into new fields. It's all a team-effort here, and I want to see that reflected in the story.

If anyone has any questions, comments, or ideas, don't be afraid to post here or PM me.

Happy hunting!
Looks great, accepted.
I'm not bothered at all. Completely your choice.
Post it here buddy, thanks.
Trouble deciding between a Marine and a Pilot... Ugh, decisions... I'll be back with something more decisive at some point.

So, I was derping about on your intrest check and saw it said full. But I wanted to throw this idea out anyways, say the five teams have occasional fire missions/supply drops I've always liked roleplaying pilots. Also if you do think that it would be cool, you can shoot me down at your discretion!

Know what buddy, I don't think the others are too bothered. You want a spot? It sounds like a great idea, to be honest, like a friendly face bringing in some much-needed support, an eye-in-the-sky the men can trust.

Whoop, school is rough bro. I've been swamped with homework. Anyway, to make up for my lack of posting within the past day- or two, I am in the process of making quite the revealing post. Ellie as a character, is not entirely as she has seemed. Not the sweet girl she comes off as... She's more of a then she let's on. How is everyone?

No problem, school's a bitch, we all know. Ah, gotta love the soap opera posts.
