Meruin smiled slightly. "If magic nullification was a problem to me, then I wouldn't be the third on the council." She wasn't boasting, rather, she was stating a fact. There were many ways to bypass a person who could nullify magic. She looked at Ryan.

"If you'll recall, Lady Chase was the master at destroying absolutely anything - including any form of attack. She and Master Reina taught me how to use my magic in combat, so do you think that they would avoid teaching me how to deal with someone who might be my straight counter?"

Meruin tilted her head as Cornelia and some other person walked up to her. They had both asked to be in the same team as her, however, Tony and Ryan had already offered. It looked like there was a limit to the number of people who could join, up until three at least, so she'd have to turn them down.

She shook her head. "I'll have to apologize. Tony and Ryan have already asked to form a team, and there's a limit of three people, and they did ask first," she said. "Perhaps the two of you can form a team with her over there?"

She was pointing at Mithrail. Meruin recognized the Celestial immediately. Of course, she didn't remember her name, but it was rather hard to forget about someone like her.

Meruin tilted her head. "Hello there, Liz. I see you're quite close to Tony, good for you?" she said, unsure what to make of the situation. She stared at the different people making groups. It seemed like everyone was quite eager to form one, but why exactly?

"Is this a combat exercise or something else?" she asked to anyone who could answer. "Depending on what exactly, I'm afraid I'm not sure how it would be best to form a team."

Meruin blinked. She'd gotten out of her self-induced hypnotism. The strength of the spell was a bit higher than normal, so she took longer than average. Just as she adjusted to her surroundings, she realized that Tony, Marcus and Ryan were all quite close to her and arguing.

Context clues made it obvious that they were forming teams, but Meruin had no idea why. She looked at Ryan. "Care to inform me why we're making teams? Sorry, I was a bit busy those last few minutes."
