Today's the first time in a long time that I've felt empty. Not even sad or tired, just empty. This quarantine is getting to me more than I thought.

@Jessica Bunny: You live in America! College is optional (and expensive) and around you is opportunity. I believe you can make it!

@BranchOfSin Er . . . um . . . actually, its immune to ALL spells that come from a contributing caster. I think @The ghost in black got what I meant. If I had to put a suggestion, the spell cancellation only works on contact with the swords. You can see where I'm going with this right?
@The ghost in black Actually . . . that is a viable solution. Just do it from multiple angles and put a lot of power into them. Oh, and get more people.
Might as well explain.

The swords work by gathering different energies and then pilebunking them into one form. Now, the problem here is that the source and purposes for the energies are different and thus have a little of what they used to be engraved in them - not enough to reproduce the full effects of the parent spell, but enough to remember where it came from and develop an immunity to via inherent recognition of a spell.

In short words, for everyone that ever released a spell or ki blast in this fight, the swords have become immune to each and every one of your spells. How? The moment you use a spell on it, it breaks itself apart until it has a signature that can match the spell, fuses with it from there, then overloads it from the inside until it's completely broken down - this process takes less than a second. Even Event Negation requires some form of recognition from the spell caster, otherwise it wouldn't even be useable, so naturally it falls under the domain of 'immune against'.

The only way for the swords anti-whatever system to fail is if it encounters something that has no connection whatsover to what it absorbed, but even then it still has a sh!t-ton of power behind it.

Yeah, sounds a little OP, but you gave Meruin more than half a hundred posts to prepare for it, what did you expect? :D

Anyway, it does have a drawback: they can't move farther than 7 meters away from Meruin, and as powerful as they are, there are only 7 of them.

EDIT: TL;DR - They are antibacteria for everyone that contributed to its making.
@BranchOfSin

Pretty sure the town is empty and is for decoration. It was meant to be a battleground after all.

The event navigation won't work on the swords. The clones and their spells, yep, but the swords are bit more problematic.
Meruin glanced at the ground beneath her with a raised brow. It shot up fast . . . leaving her behind just less than five feet of the ground. The swords simply slipped under the small mage, forming a conic array beneath her - the ground that shot up got chopped to bits, and the only thing that went up was dirt. She landed with a light tap. The Archimedes Box shot projectiles at her, but she walked on, unmindful. One sword tore through three of them from the side, while a second one spun around her, breaking the rest. Nothing remained of them.

The swords were not really swords. That was just the shape they took. All that really mattered in describing their true nature was that they were the compressed energies that everyone had released. The majority of their ability to ignore defense came from how complex they were - they tore through magic and physical object by literally overloading them with foreign concepts. The extra power behind them was part of an array of seals that kept them compressed.

Meruin walked forward, getting closer to Alex, all the while beginning to mutter under her breath.

@MagusDream That's because there are so many big explosions and crap going around, it's hard to tell what's what. If you want to get it noticed, target someone explicitly :)
Aw, well, yeah, I forgot about you!

. . .

Well shit. Hide behind Sol, yeah? That should work. The schools pretty far from the city battle grounds at least (light show is still visible, however.)

Edit: Good guy Slick :3
David, you are now officially THE most insane character I have ever seen in the Free Forum (and by god is that saying something)
The three clone Meruins stood still and kept chanting. The box that sought to close them in suddenly stopped as it touched the papers floating in the air. The papers were runes that carried the conceptual trait of 'Perpetuality' - although they were no longer useful as an offense and could not move around defensively, they still made excellen shields because they would never ever change no matter what the circumstance. Of course, their time was limited, but Meruin thought it would suffice for the given time.

Meruin smiled. It seemed like Alex was aiming to trap her. It was far too late, however; in fact it was far, far too late for everyone. The real Meruin finalized her spell, and the town, which had previously been bathed in fire and destrcution due to various spells and explosions, suddenly cleared up. The rubble and ground were still destroyed, but the magma, fire, energy, everything leftover was gone.

Seven Colored Salient Compression!

Meruin's plan was simple in execution, but devilish in designT. he summoning of the Children served only one purpose: to get everyone to expel as much energy as possible. They had succeeded in doing this most marvelously, and compounded with the extra energy dispersed into the air due to other fights, the energy that was gathered was enormous - the full some of everyone's power!

All the energy gathered and swirled less than four feet above Meruin, and it took the shape of seven swords, each one was made of the latent energy dispersed in the air compounded with Meruin's own power. More importantly, they carried two very unique aspects:

One, they ignored all forms of defense, magical or physical. The only way to not get hurt by them was by dodging them completely.

Two, the swords were just really, really damn powerful.

The floating swords began moving around, hovering in mid-air around Meruin, looking like a really deady impression of a flower. They cut through the Archimedes Box and followed Meruin as she began walking step-by-step towards Alex, her face now blank.

Naw, don't worry, that's what the gauntlets are for! Really, there are only two ways for your character to die here:

1. Be an idiot and take of the guantlets, then challenge someone to a fight butt-naked or;
2. Be a bigger idiot and take of the gauntlets then shoot yourself in the face with your own magic just to see if you'll survive it.

Those two asides, the worst that can happen is some trauma and an aversion to big-ass fights :D
