Today's the first time in a long time that I've felt empty. Not even sad or tired, just empty. This quarantine is getting to me more than I thought.

@Jessica Bunny: You live in America! College is optional (and expensive) and around you is opportunity. I believe you can make it!

Meruin's eyes widened. She had known Liz had sealed multiple elementals in herself, but four of them? One for each element? Meruin was wordlessly impressed with her in a way that she rarely was with anyone.

Chase grinned. "How I did it will remain a secret, Average One, but as for why I remember you, it's simple: I am one of, if not the most powerful mage in existence," -at this, Meruin nearly snorted in laughter, while Reina shook her head in exasperation. Classical, ever boastful Chase- "I've lived for almost a millennium and mastered countless mysteries, becoming the only one in the world that can claim to have fully master the Aeon of Destruction and its edicts! In that time, my memory has not failed me once, and never have ignored any details that pass me by! So, yes, remembering you, Little Liz, is natural, not because you were particularly noteworthy but because it is simply what I do!"

Chase declared this while looking at Liz square in the eyes. "Although I admit, my impression of you has changed. You are much more interesting than I took you for," she admitted, her look becoming appraising.

Reina shook her head for the nth time today, and returned her attention to her apprentice. "So, what was it that you needed advice with, Meruin?"

"Ah . . . schoolmate of mine. He, you see, has asked for my assistance. He wants me to teach him magic," said Meruin, "and I want to have your opinion: do you think I'm qualified? He might not be asking for an apprenticeship, but still, the art of teaching . . . I don't know if I'm ready to be one. I feel like I'm capable, and that . . . I am the only one he can turn to right now, but what if I'm wrong? What if that's just hubris, Master Reina? What if I commit an error in teaching him? I've made mistakes before, Master Reina, some of them extremely huge ones. You know that. The student who I might teach . . . he's a rare talent, and, and if I make a mistake and hinder or, or cripple his growth - If I'm the one responsible for preventing him from achieving his full potential - I don't know if, if I could, well, I don't know, Master Reina! I don't know . . ."

Meruin started speaking like she usually did, but the longer her explanation went on, the faster she spoke, and all the while she seemed high-strung and agitated. She ended her words in a whisper, and her voice had a hint of trembling of them. She was truly nervous about this, even if she was trying her best not to show it much. Magic and knowledge was important to her, and had some measure of pride in her skill with both, and while her pride did not allow her to consider the fact that she would be unable to pass it on properly, it was also hindered by the fear of ruining the one she gave it to.

Deus had no idea what he just what his request meant to Meruin.

Chase kept her face straight and stopped grinning, having enough tact to not do so. Reina closed her eyes, processing what Meruin said.

@Dash375 & @Eklispe

Reina nodded. "What is it that you need, Meruin?"

Before the small mage could respond, Sol approached her. She nodded as he admonished her. He was right. She was calling them, so it was naturally her responsibility to insure that they didn't cause problems - especially since it wasn't their fault; the two of them didn't know where she would be calling them from, and controlling their aura's was an unneeded hassle for most mages, so it was obvious that they would appear with their aura's fully out. She was calling them from their homes, after all.

"You're right, Sol, I'll handle it next time, I promise," she said, admitting her mistake and resolving to improve her barrier-work later today. "And I don't mind you listening. I'm not discussing anything particularly private."

Chase and Reina nodded, then turned to Sol. They stared at him for a moment before Reina turned away and Chase grinned.

"Oh my~! I remember you! You and that Ryan child were interesting. You've improved as well, almost as much as Meruin~! Truly, Reina's Little One is a prodigious talent!" she said, unashamedly praising Meruin. The small mage in question kept her face straight, though her cheek did redden a little. "Time magic, a very difficult route indeed, most likely impossible for you to harness at its maximum potential, but there is no shame in choosing impossible tasks! Doing as such is how I and Reina are as we are now, after all."

It was around this time that Liz entered Meruin's view. She smiled. "Ah, hello, Liz. Apologies for leaving you so suddenly. As you can see, I needed to make a call."

Meruin tilted her head at Liz's request. "Well, that's really up to Master Reina," she said, looking at her master.

The tall archmage raised a brow as she looked at Liz, looking mildly surprised, then slowly nodded. "It is no problem." In fact, she even looked eager.

Speaking of eager . . . "Another familiar face, how very nice to see you again, Liz! My goodness, what have you done to yourself? You look absolutely radiant~!" exclaimed Chase, oblivious to or ignoring Liz's obvious hostility. "How many Elementals have you made a pact with? Your soul looks so stunningly beautiful right now! So colorful and vibrant!"

@notdeadyet You still open to joining us, then? We're waiting on you :D Plus something interesting is happening in the RP right now, so it's the perfect time to join in again.

And woah, look at me, advertising another RP in a different interest check. Sorry-oos~!
@notdeadyet Heya~! Yes, Meruin was wondering where Mutt went :3
@Dash375 Just waiting to see if you're going to post :3
Jumping into this shippu~!
@Knight of Doom

I was under the impression that the Oath was long one of Virginity, seeing as Athena, Hestia and Artemis all took the same oath, and Athena has a lot of kids. And on demigods, Athena makes hers out of pilfered human thoughts, so I think pieces of a soul should do it :3

In any case, if it's still unfeasible, I'll get to working on another character.
@Knight of Doom Posted the first CS already!
Hm, in which case I'd just have to either make the father die earlier, or have him be older when they met. Timeline stuff asides, are there any other problems? (/-3-)/ * * *
Jose, who had gone from 'sleepy' to 'half-asleep', started awake when he heard Anselma's voice. She was talking to him, but her words were difficult to make out, groggy as he was. He had been awake for a day-and-a-half straight, and had not slept through all that time, not even when he was fatigued and physically hurting. But he had promised them that he would help Anselma - and by extension, her group - even if none of them had heard that promised, it still counted. At least to him, it did.

The large young man slapped himself awake and rubbed the sleepiness out of his eyes. It did little, but it was nice to pretend that he wasn't about to collapse at any moment. His legs and hands shook and he frowned. He had lost a bit of feeling on his hands. That probably wasn't good.

He was just about to resume guard duty when he heard Miki's shouts. Jumping straight to his feet, Jose rushed to where she was. He stopped in front of the bathroom, his brain freezing to a halt as years of manners that were hammered into his head forced him to remember that girls restroom was a no-go for boys no matter the time or place.

With a tentative knock, Jose asked: "Miss Miki, are you okay?"
