Today's the first time in a long time that I've felt empty. Not even sad or tired, just empty. This quarantine is getting to me more than I thought.

@Jessica Bunny: You live in America! College is optional (and expensive) and around you is opportunity. I believe you can make it!

The others stared in shock as Yuri brought the boy down to the ground. Everyone here was a delinquent of one degree or another. They cut class, got into fights, and disrespected teachers and authority practically as a pastime. However, there were limits, limits defined by things they couldn't get out from easily, especially since, for all that this was a school, it was still a school for Arms Masters.

There was a pregnant silence as everyone watched the boy hit the ground, and then that silence gave birth to chaos.

The small mob of kids rushed towards Yuri, all but ready to murder him. The girl that was to be his opponent jumped back and fell on her rear, startled by the turn of events. As for the teacher, she was shouting in futility, trying to grab their attention and restore order. Eventually, even students from inside the classroom got involved, and for five minutes, all hell broke loose.

Then it happened. The students all froze up, and then dropped to their knees, wheezing heavily. Footsteps were heard, and the teacher backed away.

A man in dark jogging pants and green shirt with the tag "ARMY" across the right sleeve approached, holding a dagger in hand by the blade. He had a stern, severe face and his demeanor was that of a true veteran.

"What the hell is going on here?" he barked. "I heard the commotion all the way from the faculty room, and I wondered what it was, so now, you," he said, glaring directly at Yuri, "have the pleasure of explaining to me. Now!"

The man quickly took a look at all their ID's, before jotting their names down on a pocket notebook. Satisfied, the man turned to them.

"Anyway, you'd best get back to class right now. There are some announcements to be made, and I don't think we'll have classes for the afternoon." With that, he left, leaving the four of them alone in the arena again.

As the girls rushed towards her, the azure one frowned. There were too many today. Far too many. It wasn't unheard of, but it was unusual. The last time something like this had happened was a hundred years ago, when that incident occurred. Preparing her spear, she settled into a low crouch, eyes flickering, and chose a target. Kagami was the closest, so she would have to deal with her first.

Propelling herself forwards, she was lost to the others in a sudden burst of movement, going at a speeds untraceable by the normal eye. The only indication of where she had gone was the trail of dust that had followed in her wake. The next time she appeared, it was behind Kagami and above the shadows that hunted her. She spun in the air and her spear-arm made a grand sweep sidewards, the 2 meter-long weapon cleaving through the shadows with ease. The shades fell to the ground, their mist-like bodies liquefying into a dark, black substance. Landing on the ground, she turned to her next targets: the shadows after Camila.

As she was about to charge, she noticed the group of shadows around the Winnie were in line with those of Camila's. Quickly seizing the moment, she switched her hold on the spear, its head facing downwards, and pulled it far back. Without so much as a cry of effort, she launched the weapon forwards. The power that came from the throw was unnatural; the crack in the air that followed its wake was the echo of the sound barrier breaking. It tore through both groups of shadows in a second and landed behind the Sasha.

She had planned to move towards her spear and tear through the last group, when a tingle ran down her spine. Instincts blaring, her eyes widened as she saw a shadow roll forward, just behind of Shakti. This shadow was a titan compared to the rest, as large as elephant, and as tall as a giraffe, with an unmistakably malevolent air. Rather than a mist-like entity, however, this one more closely resembled a torrent of water, its mouth arms and mouth shifting chaotically. It's movements were erratic, yet rapid, and it quickly closed in on Shakti.

The girl grit her teeth, and muttered a silent apology. She knew that she wouldn't reach her in time, but she would damn well try.

Once again disappearing, she pushed her legs as fast as they could take her. The large shadow loomed over Shakti, and its smaller counterparts hung back, either afraid or unwilling to get in its way. It bent down, opened its large, hollow mouth and bit into her . . .

Or, at least, it would have, had the girl not pushed her out of the way. Still, though a death had narrowly been avoided, she did not come away unscathed: the entirety of her right side was gashed and scarred were the things non-existent teeth ripped through. Despite these wounds, the girl had to toss Shakti a short distance away, staring warily at the great shadow before her.

"You girls! Take her and run! Keep moving west until you find another group of girls dressed like me, and don't stop moving!" she bellowed. Sweat trickled down her forehead. Fighting like this was going to be difficult with them around; she wasn't able to grab her weapon in the time she took to save her, and the monster she was facing was not an easy one, not like the smaller ones she tore through with ease. If the girls were still around, she couldn't fight and protect them at the same time. They had to leave -- it was risky, but it was better than being here. "What are you doing!? get out of here!"
FELIX STANDFIELD
Location: School Building

Humming a light tune, Felix walked at a brisk pace. He pretty hungry this morning, and fancied a bite of fish for breakfast. Unfortunately, the camp had none. It wasn't really a surprise -- food was rationed, and so they only took what foods could be preserved for long periods of time, not to mention, Felix was completely sure that everyone had their own personal stash of food hidden away somewhere, so sure that he went to look for them in his free time, and managed to find all of them. He didn't take a thing though. He was just bored.

Back to the present, he was hungry for fish, so he went fishing. It was funny how undisturbed nature was in general by the sudden death of the twenty-first century human civilization, he idly thought, as he hefted the basket of fish over his shoulders. Then he jumped over the grabbing hands of a Lurker trying to have its own form of a nutritious breakfast.

Walking backwards, Felix looked at the small crowd of Walkers he had attracted. They had followed him on his way back from fishing, and while he could always just outrun them, he figured that a light morning exercise couldn't hurt. So he attracted whatever Walkers he could find and led them on a nice merry chase away from the school, towards a nearby parking lot.

There were two ways to fight a crowd of Walkers: out in the open, or in tight spaces. In places with clear space and with nothing blocking your sight, dealing with them was simple. Despite the fear they instilled, despite the death they have dealt, fighting the living dead was nothing compared to fighting humans.

And fighting humans was nothing compared to fighting Felix.

It was a much lighter exercise than he expected.

"I'm back~!"

The guard looked at him from behind the fortified gates of the school, and scowled as soon as he saw him. Felix grinned back.

"Felix. You're back. I hadn't even noticed you left," he deadpanned. In response, Felix lifted the basket of fish he was holding to eye level.

"Ah, well, I had a sudden craving for fish, and since the camp didn't have any, I decided to get some," he said, as though it were the simplest thing in the world. The guard stared at him.

"That still doesn't answer my question: How did you get out?"

"I climbed the walls."

"You climbed . . . the walls?"

Felix gestured to sheer walls around the school, over five meters tall and additionally fortified with barbwire.

"Yeah, the walls."

Sighing, the guard shook his head opened the gates. He was followed by two more people, both armed. They approached him, the one guard irritated, the other two cautious. Felix spread his arms wide and turned around. "As you can see, I am completely fine!" he said, rolling up his sleeves and showing his bare arms.

"Well, can I go in now?"

Waving his hand, the guard nodded. "Yeah, yeah. Go on ahead."

With a cheeky grin, Felix strolled past them and into the building. The quadrangle had been turned into a miniature market place, with the stalls made out of tents and ramshackle huts made of scavenged wood and steel; of course, he called it a market, but it was more of a relief goods place -- supplies found by scavengers were sent to the stalls in charge of sorting them out, and then they distributed them evenly among the community, though Felix suspected there was some favoritism going on. The classrooms had been turned into apartments, of sorts, and distributed among the people here. Families typically gained one room to themselves, while singles had to share a room.

All-in-all, it was pretty okay, as far as post-Apocalypse communities go. Certainly better than the one back in Virginia.

Still, life here was getting pretty monotone. If nothing interesting happened any time soon, he was considering leaving for Las Vegas, before heading down to Mexico.

Whatever, he had fish to fry. He was starving . . .

@KindledBeast Well shit son xD Okay then.
@Wick There's already a small community there, correct?

Anyway, working on a post :)
@Wick Should I make a post about being at the school already, or wait until everyone arrives first?
Where's everyone now? So I can work on a post on dropping in.
The instructor frowned. These kids were acting strangely but still . . . the girl made a point. On the other hand, he had his own point to make. Namely one about safety.

"It's fine to want to improve yourselves," he relented, "but we have rules in place for a reason. Unsanctioned duels can easily end with fatalities, even among adults. There's practice, then their's being reckless."

Sighing, the mans scratched his chin. "Okay, listen, I won't report you, but I'm going to need to take a look at your I.D's, and I don't want this happening again, understood?"
