Thomas Craven was born a commoner on the land of one of England's lords. By the time he was in his early teens he was a squire for his Lord. With the advent of the third Crusade Thomas left to follow his lord through the duration of the Third Crusade, during the siege of Acre Thomas’ Lord was wounded and Thomas took his place on the battle line. After the siege was successful Thomas earned a Knighthood from King Richard the Lionheart.

By the end of the Third Crusade and the failure to capture Jerusalem meant that the Church would send another wave of Crusaders. This was to be Thomas’ fate; however destiny intervened and a Syrian vampire fighting on Saladin’s side of the war converted Thomas into one of the Infected. Returning to England for the interim years Thomas began building his holdings and house which came with his rise to Knighthood.

With the dawn of the Fourth Crusade Thomas once again took to the field of battle on behalf of the British Island.

@Themerlinhawk I'm out and about too. Don't worry about it. If your character is a Ravnos you'll get to see my lovely , Magdalena, alot. Sexy but insane<3. I can see your character being either a Guardian or a Prelate because of how experienced he is. If you're a Prelate you'll be very close to Marc Ravnos. You'd just have to think of what he did to reach that level :). He could be a good balance of what having knowledge means: you cannot learn without living through it, without experiencing it. True understanding comes from the World itself.

So I think that sounds like a plan. I think I'll take the Ravnos approach and make the character more of a Black sheep for the family so that I can have him pursue his own agenda as well. Dunno if I want him to be a Guardian or a Prelate. I'd guess it depends on how old he is really. I should start looking at details that way I can decide EXACTLY where I want to take him. I believe I will go with Ravnos though so that should be fun.

@Themerlinhawk This roleplay has a lot of lore from many places xD. Go whichever path you desire. If you go Venture, after Warbozz makes his character I'm going to put a cap on Ventrue until the other houses primarily Malkavian and Ravnos catch up in terms of roleplayers

You should. Honestly I could PROBABLY make the character a Ravnos to make things more balanced. Sorry for the delayed responses I'm putting an engine back in my car.

@Themerlinhawk if he had to choose now after living a nice fulfilled life. Basically by going Ventrue you'll do more hands on outside work, challenging yourself by risking your life, with Ravnos you'll do a lot of studying, self exploring, and advancing your own work.

Currently in Ravnos there's a dhampir that is furthering her knowledge in Alchemy
And an older vampire continuing her late teacher's work (the mad scientist type)

Currently in Ventrue there's an Aspirant and Kyres. @Warbozz is considering making a dockworker at Ventrue.

You could still be adventurous in Ravnos, like your character's knowledge he seeks is discovery? Like travel places discover new types of animals, plants, etc. Or you could be an inventor of sorts though I don't know if that would fit your background story unless you were taught how to be an engineer

Probably venture then because the character isnt necessarily after knowledge for the sake of knowledge. But at the same time that might be interesting. I'm thinking I want to bill him as a collector of martial techniques and equipment from across asia. As well as helping to expand the British empires grasp on the world. So he probably would have seen battle in America on the side of the British come to think of it. He'said probably more Emporia list than scientist though. So that's a tough call. On a side note are these names by chance borrowed from Vampire the Masquerade?

@Themerlinhawk It'd be cool to have someone from the 3rd Crusade. Maybe your character was a squire who eventually got knighted by King Richard the Lionheart, which would be your rise into nobility.
Would your character pursue adventure or knowledge?

Both. I'm thinking he probably traveled a lot as the empire was expanding. Probably a fair bit in the Orient and Ottoman empire

@Themerlinhawk Yes, there is many slots avalible. :) And this would be a good roleplay to expand your horizons.

If you make a vampire join any house but Grangrel since they are more dominant right now in terms of roleplayers.

There's two more human slots. If you make a human I don't need anymore vampire hunters so either make a scientist, a human without a agenda, or an Aspirant

I actually was thinking Either Ventrue or Ravnos, and I was toying with a Crusader turned Noble when the Crusades finished since this is Victorian London and the character needs to have been born before 1000 AD right? So it would be conceivable that he fought in one of the last of the Crusades and earned a Title form the monarchy. That something that might be interesting? If not I have other ideas im toying with.
