Awesome!!
Ahh man! I looked at this a few days after I posted it and it was empty, and now there's people! What factions were you guys most interested in playing?
Approximately 60 years ago, according to plans made between Theo and other parties, there is a war between the Graal Hegemony and the Aurolian Federation. The Stoor join the war on the Hegemony's side, while the Commonwealth remains neutral (but supplies the Federations). The Hau stay off to the side and watch. Once the Sphere learns of the human casualties in the wars, they sweep down from the North and begin to launch internal strikes against the Hegemony.

This is where our information breaks down. We do not know if the Hegemony would have allied with the Stoor or otherwise fought alongside them, or whether or not the relations between the Stoor and the Hegemony prior to this war were even stable enough for this scenario to be realistic. On the Stoor's side of the equation, they joined the war not necessarily because they were allied or even friendly with the Hegemony, but simply because they had their own agenda.

Approximately 10 years ago, the Graal war ends, somehow. Status of the Graal Hegemony is unknown, though it is generally accepted that every nation leaves the conflict intact. However, the Sphere requires a reason to have disengage from hostilities; absence of such would mean nonstop hostilities until the present day.
.

The Hegemony would accept the Stoor's aid against the Federation. Yep yep!
Sorry for the minor absence. Classes started and I'm back.

I read up on the Stoor and feel that the Hegemony would largely favor the Stoor over the Aurolian Federation; though in a parabellum situation would likely attempt to maintain neutrality unless the Stoor heavily favored the Hegemony over it's neighboring partners.
Can we have a post somewhere with all the civilizations and like a paragraph explaining them? I have no real desire to constantly murk about in the threads that people have put up trying to find out who is who.
I can put Sol anywhere, though I usually put it near the galactic center for simplification reasons.
@Sigma; here's a few ideas for some shared history; if we share borders on the cosmographical map.

First Contact War: At one point the Federation and the Hegemony were unaware of eachother's existence; and the Graal would most likely have stumbled upon a Federation world while colonizing new solar systems. The Graal, who have no desire to seek peaceful relations with weak willed humanoids launched a series of attacks; orbital bombardments and planetary invasions of the Federation's colonies ensued, with a blitzkrieg of the Graal legions that overtook the small planetary garrisons, the Graal threat seemed magnified when the Federation discovered, at the Battle of Harushka that the Graal; even when outnumbered and outgunned, do not surrender and do not retreat.

For the first six months, the Federation failed to materialize a victory until Federation high command intercepted Graal communique's indicating they were intending to invade larger, more industrialized Federation planets and staged an intercept at their rendezvous point. This sneak attack; the Battle of Relay Tango-November saw the destruction of the Graal High Command; and in the next two years the Federation; utilizing stolen Graal radio commands destroyed two of it's Legions and reclaimed it's planetary holdings, returning the Graalo-Federation borders to the status quo.

That was just an idea I saw in my head. Take it apart. Add stuff. Subtract stuff. Tell me what you think.

Here's a cosmographical map of the Graal Hegemony; I can do the entire spiral galaxy as well.

Graal Hegemony

General Info and Location
Name: Graal Hegemony
Capital System: Gruul H'ea; Type 7 Planet. Gravity at 1.7 ESU, Oxygen rich atmosphere.
Dominant Species: Graalicus hurvalis, intragalactic moniker is Graal.
Sub-Factions/Species: None numbering more than 100,000,000. Notable natives lacking industrial technology are used for forced labor and gladiatorial entertainment.
Direction From Galactic Core: Southeast Quadrant; Ferusian Nebula.

Politics, Power & Economy
Head Of State: Gnatar of the Hegemony (Gnatar is the Graal word for brain, this translation implies the Head or Brain of the Hegemony).
Head Of Government: The Council of Assorted Systems; an interplanetary council of representatives from the Graal homeplanets and colonies that create legislation for the Hegemony. They operate largely at the whim of the Gnatar, who has an abundance of veto power that keep the Council in check, should they seem to conspire against him.
Government Type/Operation/Description: The Hegemony is a militant and interplanetary fascist dictatorship run by the elite military class of the Hegemony. Large portions of Graal civilians are kept in check by the existence of commodity goods, though poverty is still the status quo. Planetary governors dictate the governmental whims of each individual planet followed by Regional Governors who overlook entire solar systems. These all answer to the Gnatar who has the final word in all things.
Economic System/Prosperity: The Graal economy as an isolated case (because the Hegemony rarely barters open trade agreements) is still immense under the pretense of a planned economy, but from an outside and extraplanetary viewpoint is largely stagnant. The Hegemony's ability to produce is absolutely immense, especially in arms manufacturing and the military-industrial complex, but they largely lack in agricultural and scientific research funding.

Empire Size: 6; the Graal Hegemony's last census recorded the population at 249,532,843,422 citizens.*
(*: The Hegemony Council of Population Control notes a variance of 12-15%)

Empire Power: Major Regional Power – Dominant Influence in a region. The Graal on paper are much larger, prominent and intimidating than they are in practice. The Graal have colonized dozens of solar systems, enough to inhabit them and begin resource extraction, but barely enough to allow them to grow without interplanetary assistance. The Hegemony is immense, but it's planets are hollow in infrastructure and underdeveloped. This is offset by the huge military assets that the Graal bring to the table.

Type Of Power: Military, Expansive: The Graal are ferocious; evolution has led them the path of the warrior and their great war armada's and million man armies do not merely stand at the ready, they constantly seek out opponents to conquer. The ultimate goal of the Hegemony is not the annihilation of other civilization's, but rather their subjugation under an iron Graal fist. The Graal seek not only to stake their flag on every inhabitable world, but to do it without any opposition.

Race Info
Race Name: Graalicus hurvalis, common moniker is Graal.
Average Lifespan: 65 Galactic Standard Years (GSY)
Physical Characteristics: The Graal species is characterized by an erected, bipedal skeletal structure with a particularly thick epidermal layer covering an immense muscular structure. The extra epidermal layers are used both for extra water and mineral retention and serve a secondary function of protection; these thick layers of skin allow the Graal to be largely impervious to low caliber weaponry and low velocity laser weaponry. The Graal are mammals and thus have vestigial hair that covers their body, and they produce live young that has a seven month incubation period.
Dominant Society:
Moral Values: The Graal value brutality, warfare and aggression as the prime characteristics and tenets of their society. Subterfuge and compassion are seen as weakness, as the Graal believe not only should you be the strongest, but you should let others know you are the strongest. This is displayed on both a civilization and individual level. The Graal often conquer lesser and beaten species and enslave them as a means of showing their indomitable will.
Religion: The Graal have left deism by the wayside and do not concurrently have a belief in any supernatural phenomena.
History:
Technological Overview
-- FTL: The Graal use Sling Beacons for faster-than-light travel. They are one way particle accelerators that launch the targeted vessels at a certain velocity through the galaxy to a predetermined location. Returning often requires a Sling Beacon to be slung through to the other side as well.
-- Pulse Technology: Low grade fusion reactors that emit an immense amount of energy for their cost, but are largely unstable and leak radiation into oxygen rich and ammonia rich environments. Pulse technology is used for everything, such as civilian grade powerplants and military sublight engines.
That's a cool little pseudo-wiki page, Serpentine. Kudos.

Anyone interested in some backstory with my Graal?
The Graal are not villainous; they would be chaotic neutral if anything. Just in case your comment was regarded toward the Graal.
