Also, Meeky; would you like to create some concrete history between Denzgraad and your nation?
That works. We need some NPC nations in which to create political drama and get the fuse lit. (Serbia in WWi, Poland in WWII, Cuba in the Cold War, et cetera).
Should the far eastern continents of the map be the New World?

I think it'd be a cool concept for potential colonization as well as Industrial vs Tribal societies.

HOLY EMPIRE OF DENZGRAAD

Name of Nation: Holy Empire of Denzgraad
Flag: See above.
Demonym of Nation: The Denz, Denz.
Race Description: Humans
Nation Location: See map below.
Description of Nation: Steeped in tradition, the Holy Empire of Denzgraad is a large and monarchistic nation that comprises over six former kingdoms on the Denzgraadic subcontinent. The nation, though considered one of the Great Powers along with the Qalimeqi Empire, it is quickly falling behind and the Qalimeqi threaten to usurp their influence in the region. The Holy Crown fears change and has taken on the recent clockwork and steamwork inventions of the new world with a cautious hand, for fear that the oppressed serfs of the land might find new tools from which to rise. The Denzgraad utilize clockwork technology only within the royal circles and as a display of modernism has added it to their flag, but the majority of the people within the nation are still woefully unaware of these new inventions existence.

While the power of it's neighbor, the Qalimeqi Empire has risen and waned, Denzgraad has steadily increased in power as the centuries of feudalism has ended and turned to the industrial era. With the last great downfall of the Qalimeqi Empire and Denzgraad has announced it's recent superiority as a Great Power, but this is largely in name only, with the greatest thinkers of astronomy, medicine and clockwork still reside in Qalimeqi, Denzgraad instead remains home to an abundance of untapped natural resources and a huge manpower pool.
Government of Nation: Empire -- Absolute Monarchy.
Capital of Nation: Varcia, Population, 12,500,000.
Population of Nation: 105,000,000 (92,000,000 are serfs living in rural areas).
Economy of Nation: The vast land of Denzgraad have turned it into a huge agrarian breadbasket, the likes of which uses to feed it's immense population. The three mountain ranges Karvalov, Kuzechenko's and the Darlov all provided precious metals that are often exported across the Small Sea to the Qalimeqi Empire and neighboring states. The Denzgraad Empire is a centralized, mercantile based economy that seeks to establish dominance of it's monopolies while minimizing it's imports.
Nation's Major Exports: Iron, Steel, Gold, Silver, Grain, Wood.
Nation's Major Imports: Machine Parts, Firearms, Sugar, Exotic Goods.
Nation's Military Description: The Empire's military is split into three sections:

-- White Army: The largest in the world, numbering in at over three and a half million soldiers, the White Army is a proverbial paper tiger. Officers are given commission based on their wealth instead of their skill, and soldiers are trained relatively haphazardly. Steamtanks number at less than 5,000 and the Denzgraad still see their horse driven cavalry as the corps d'espirit within the army. However, few would readily invade Denzgraad at seeing how large their standing army is.
-- White Navy: The White Navy is no paper tiger, and Denzgraad prides itself on it's seaborne fleets, of which there are five -- totaling over two hundred fourty ships, with over sixteen dreadnoughts as the pride of the White Navy. Steam filled harbors keep the destroyers, cruisers and dreadnoughts at top notch quality year round, even at the expense of Imperial coinage.
-- White Air Corps: The White Air Corps remains in it's infancy, with only ten airships of a very basic design and a handful of observation dirigibles also in active service. These designs are purchased Qalimeqi designs, as the Denzgraad engineers themselves could not quite master the art of flight themselves.

NOTE: I'd like to make up most of the small subcontinent across from the inlet sea of the Qalimeqi Empire. I'll try and get a picture up but my Photobucket is being obstinate.
I can create a much more visceral map for the 'geopolitical' landscape if anyone wants one? You could use that map as well, it'd just be for funsies.
1908, 1909, 1910. 1808. 2008, 2009. Those.
I can change it, my bad. I was trying to review a slew of applications to find the viability on whether the Graal would have met them or not.
My application is largely finished!

GRAAL HEGEMONY

Faction Name: Graal Hegemony
Faction Type: Interplanetary Dictatorship.
Species: Graal (majority), All Other Races (minority)
-- Graal: Standing 2.4 meters tall, the Graal are rugged mammalian humanoids that have evolved on the desert world of Gruul H'ea. Their skin is thick and rubbery, and they do have hair as all do mammals have, but it's short and reserved for the more particular regions of the body. They are immediately dense and strong and possess two sets of lungs, allowing them to breathe in both oxygen rich and nitrogen rich environments.

Graal

Scale and Territory: The Graal possess three primary systems but oversee over a dozen planetary slave hubs in outlying systems that also operate as minor military outposts. The Graal population is around 30 billion, but the Hegemony's population is around 70 billion as a whole, 90% of which exists in the primary solar system of Gruul, comprised of seven planets; three of which are inhabitable; the desert planet of Gruul H'ea, the volcanic, ash laden planet of Sorguth Prime and the terran world of Kylox III.

The secondary and tertiary systems are largely developmental, though they do contain populations in the billions.

Culture: The Graal have evolved to favor brutality, truth and strength. The weak are to be conquered and ruled. Mercy is summarily looked down as a glaring weakness and is often exploited if possible. The Graal possess a heavily patriarchal society where females are almost exclusively home bodies and used as brood mares to spawn and raise new offspring. Slavery is also a large tenet of Graal society and other species that are captured are often sent to slave hubs where they are summarily sent to the Graal slave markets and sold on from there.

The Graal, when interacting with other species are often treated as dumb, but strong minded children. Many naive merchants have been killed by a Graal who thought he had been ripped off, and so those who are physically less superior than the Graal must be very clear and concise, for fear of reprisal. This cultural attitude has caused many galactic corporations of other civilizations to steer clear from the Graal altogether, which has caused the Graal economy to fundamentally stagnate.

Individual Graal often serve as criminal enforcers, bodyguards and mercenaries in other civilizations due to their lifelong adherence to combat and their physically imposing nature. However, even the likes of the Black Suns mercenary company often turn down incoming Graal due to their outright brutality. Many criminal rings that are busted in other civilizations have Graal within them, as Graal are more prone to crime due to the lower quality of their standard of living on their home planets.

History: The Graal evolved on their homeworld of Gruul H'ea, and have in the last million years ruthlessly killed and slaughtered each other in unification wars and wars of conquest as the various nations of modern Graal society sought to uproot the other. The Final Unification War was less a war of unification and more a war of subjugation, as the Graal nation of Pax Houndaris ruthlessly conquered the others with the relentless use of interplanetary nuclear weaponry. With a portion of the planet devoid of resources, the Graal turned their eyes to the stars to find new planets to colonize.

The Graal have not been largely active within the intragalactic community, instead -- their primary means of activity is their slavers on the outskirts of other civilizations and capturing lone freighters and civilian liners as they exist FTL and selling them to the slave trade. This has led to increased tensions, but no civilization will start an intergalactic war over a few slaves. Right?

Technology: The Graal's technology is largely antiquated in comparison to the rest of the galaxy. Their hover based gravitronics equipment is still largely faulty. The Graal still use standard ballistics for their military and missile based technology for their air superiority fighters and torpedo's for their space based capital ships.

The Graal use Pulse Pusher technology, which is a fusion of heavy electromagnetic fission based tech that is easy to produce and maintain but prone to breakdown.

Military Forces:
-- Hegemony Army: With over 300,000,000 active soldiers in seven planetary armies, the Hegemony Army is a fierce and derisive fighting force -- some even pronounced the most fierce that exists. The Graal do not retreat, they do not surrender and they do not give up. The Graal reliance on slave logistics mean that more Graal can be called to the front to fight than other armies that require huge logistical offices. The Graal use Mass Wave tactics -- which costs immense casualties by charging entrenched enemy positions but often instills fear in the enemy after their positions are overrun.
-- Hegemony Navy: The Hegemony Navy is a paper tiger, but as a political organizations maintains at least a modicum of respect. The Graal Dreadnoughts are from an era long past, but they are steeped in tradition and firepower. The Graal employ picket forces of Heavy Cruisers and Missile Frigates to patrol their colony worlds, but you need not be a Graal to understand that the Graal excel with their feet on the ground, and not in the confines of a space hulk.

Note on Xeno Slaves: The Graal will enslave anything, if it possible. The below is a listing of how any captured members of a particular species would be used in a slave function if captured.
