There's a panhandler who hangs out on the street corner by our dispensary every afternoon with a sign that just says "Green 4 Green?" and tbh, I respect my boy's confidence.

Bio

Personal Profile

Name: Taylor
Pronouns: They/them
Age: Mid 20s
Relationship: Married (happily, I might add)
Time Zone: Arizona (we hate daylight savings, so it's MST year-round)
Writing History: I've been on a number of different roleplaying websites for over a decade and a half
Hobbies: Writing, fitness, driving/exploring, hiking, camping, traveling, tabletop games, anything NEW (I love trying things I've never done before)
Roleplayer Profile

Format: 1x1s only. Maybe I'll try a group RP again someday, but I've never had one last longer than a few months
Posting Speed: Depending on my schedule, I can usually post at least once per week
Favorite Genres: Modern, Historical, Romance, Action/Adventure, Horror/Dark, Fantasy, Slice of Life, Dystopian, can be convinced to write some Sci-Fi
Hard 'no's: Fandoms. Sorry, but I can't maintain interest in characters/worlds I didn't build with my partner
Template: Public threads or PMs. I prefer to keep all my RPs in one place, so no emails or G-docs or the like
Rating: Comfortable with 18+ content, but it's not a necessity and I prefer not to center a plot around explicit scenes
Level: Advanced. Will consistently provide around 400-700 words per post, but can occasionally leap to 2000+
Character preference: One main character, but large side casts are greatly enjoyed. Because I write long posts, I prefer not to double
Gender preference: Male. You'll be hard pressed to convince me to play a female that isn't a background character. It's just not my forte
Romantic Relationships: MxF or MxM (currently prefer MxM)
Character Images: Faceclaims or detailed descriptions only. I envision the characters like real people in my mind, so I can't take anime seriously
OOC chat: Yes please! I'm a total extrovert who loves to get to know the amazing minds behind my partners' characters

I don't understand the "new" drama either. I personally love to RP with newbies at the Guild because you never know what to expect from them. Everyone has a different style, anyway. From my 6 years of experience, being new has hardly anything (if anything at all) to do with RP quality. Sometimes new players do even better than the so-called veterans! I think we should all just get along as fellow writer-enthusiasts and not worry about other people's experience.

Why does anyone watch big sweaty guys chase a ball around a field when they can watch puppies do the same thing? There's not even a comparison
Serix followed Cassie to the food storage room and grabbed another can of strange Earth fruit. He sat down to eat while Cassie suggested that he continue to teach her telepathy. Her remark that she might be able to show him what the planet used to look like caught his attention. He was especially interested in seeing the humans’ society and inventions. The dilapidated buildings and roads only gave him small glimpses of what the Earth used to be. “Sure,” he said. “And maybe I can show you what life was like on the ship, although it’s not nearly as interesting.” “And...” Cassie went on. “Maybe a little after that... now that I have that door fixed... I was thinking I might go through those four boxes in the hidden storage... I at least want to see what else is in there. Maybe bring them to the bedroom to go through them so they aren't hidden away any more. Do you think you could help me with that?” “Of course,” Serix replied, offering her a gentle smile. He could tell that she was still uneasy about going through her parents old things. He didn’t blame her. All of those memories and reminders would be difficult to face. He admired her for being strong enough to go back and confront them again. After they finished eating, Serix got up and held out a hand to help Cassie stand, “Let’s go work on your telepathic skills.” He guided her back into the hallway and sat with her on the floor in the same position they had been in last time: directly in front of each other and close enough for their knees to brush. He held her hands again and met her gaze. It was strangely ironic how they had done the same routine merely two days ago, but now it felt so much more natural. He didn’t feel like he was fighting an internal battle over his emotions for Cassie, and his heart didn’t race with anxiety and discord. This was much more pleasant. “Close your eyes and remember to signal if you feel faint,” Serix instructed her calmly. He followed suit, closing his own eyes and leaning forward to touch his forehead to hers. He tapped into her mind and continued to speak to her mentally. Your brain needs to be exercised like your muscles. The more you work at it, the longer you’ll be able to maintain a link with me, okay? So, let’s just work on your endurance for now. Try to reach out to my mind like you did before, but don’t speak. Just try to hold on to the connection for as long as you can and let me know when you need to stop.
“I’d love to sing at the ball,” the girl said hesitantly. “But, I don't have anything to wear and I’m sure your father wouldn’t want someone like me at a ball around so many people of royalty—” “Oh, don’t worry about that,” Destrian stopped her, holding up his hands. “I’m sure we could find you a suitable dress, and my father won’t mind your status so long as you can prove to him your talent, and I have no doubt you can manage that.” The statement wasn’t entirely true. Yes, Destrian could find the girl the proper attire if she took the position, but his father would never let a lowly peasant into his palace when there were foreign nobles around to impress. No matter. Destrian could easily make up a middle-class background for her so the king would let her in. It wouldn’t be that far-fetched. He would only alter her status as much as he needed to get her the position, not enough to raise suspicion. In a way, sneaking the girl into the ball was Destrian’s own form of passive revenge on his father. He would be disobeying King Merek’s laws by letting a peasant enter a royal event, but his father would never even realize what he had done. It was the safest rebellion Destrian could think of. And besides, he wanted to hear her sing again. She really did have a lovely voice. Talent such as hers should be shared with others, not hidden away in the secrecy of the woods. “Please, come with me,” Destrian gestured in the direction he had come from. “I can bring you back to the palace with the knights. They’re probably waiting for me to return, anyhow. It’s not a far trip, and you can even ride on one of the horses, if you’d prefer.” He paused. “You know, you’ve never even told me your name. What is it, if you don’t mind my asking?”

The American girl’s response was unhelpfully vague, but at least she spoke fluent Japanese. Jun doubted he would be able to converse well in English while his mind was so slow. Perhaps she hadn’t even understood his first question. Or, maybe she expected him to know what he was doing already. In her line of business, she probably saw dozens of men in a week, all of whom would have been far more experienced at this sort of thing than Jun was. He found it ironic that he was apparently more innocent than the so-called “Innocent Beauty,” herself. Well, this was embarrassing. Desperate not to look like a novice, Jun approached the bed and stripped off his jacket, letting it fall to the floor at his feet. He started unbuttoning his shirt next, a process which took some time with his clumsy, alcohol-depressed hands. His heart was racing. In spite of himself, he felt a twinge of excitement to sleep with such a gorgeous American girl. He wanted to blame the feeling on his intoxication, but maybe he was giving himself too much credit. Koji and the others came to places like this often. Wasn’t there even a proverb about attracting others like oneself? Maybe he was more like them than he realized. The thought was unnerving. “I command you?” Jun said, returning to his native tongue. He let his shirt fall to the floor with his jacket, and then hesitated, standing at the bedside. The whole situation still felt strangely surreal to him. He never dreamed he would find himself in a place like this, with an American prostitute like her. Why was he even here, again? It had been Koji’s idea, but he normally would have declined the offer… had he been in his right mind, that is. He suddenly put two and two together and realized why the others had taken him to the bar first. They must have planned the whole night out. Unfortunately, it was too late to back out now. “Take that off,” Jun indicated the kimono the girl was wearing. It felt unnatural to order the girl around like that, even though she had told him to do so. He had to remind himself that she was used to this. It was her profession. It wasn’t like he was taking advantage of her or anything. She slept with men for a living, and he was just one of many. Yes, that was all this was.
