There's a panhandler who hangs out on the street corner by our dispensary every afternoon with a sign that just says "Green 4 Green?" and tbh, I respect my boy's confidence.

Hobbies: Writing, fitness, driving/exploring, hiking, camping, traveling, tabletop games, anything NEW (I love trying things I've never done before)
Roleplayer Profile

Format: 1x1s only. Maybe I'll try a group RP again someday, but I've never had one last longer than a few months
Posting Speed: Depending on my schedule, I can usually post at least once per week
Favorite Genres: Modern, Historical, Romance, Action/Adventure, Horror/Dark, Fantasy, Slice of Life, Dystopian, can be convinced to write some Sci-Fi
Hard 'no's: Fandoms. Sorry, but I can't maintain interest in characters/worlds I didn't build with my partner
Template: Public threads or PMs. I prefer to keep all my RPs in one place, so no emails or G-docs or the like
Rating: Comfortable with 18+ content, but it's not a necessity and I prefer not to center a plot around explicit scenes

Character preference: One main character, but large side casts are greatly enjoyed. Because I write long posts, I prefer not to double
Gender preference: Male. You'll be hard pressed to convince me to play a female that isn't a background character. It's just not my forte
Romantic Relationships: MxF or MxM (currently prefer MxM)
Character Images: Faceclaims or detailed descriptions only. I envision the characters like real people in my mind, so I can't take anime seriously
OOC chat: Yes please! I'm a total extrovert who loves to get to know the amazing minds behind my partners' characters

Interacting With: Father

“Hm, first again?” Yi Hyun-Sik’s father grunted as the he read Sevit Academy’s ranking board. He tugged absently at his short beard, knitting his brow as he examined the list. “Don’t let this get to your head, Hyun-Sik. Even though you’ve done well so far, there is always room for error. I expect nothing less from you during your final year at this school.”

“Yes, sir,” Hyun-Sik replied stiffly. He stood at his father’s side, looking up at his own name atop the board. It was always at the top, and it would remain at the top. His father had no reason to remind him that he couldn’t get lazy during his senior year at Sevit. Naturally an overachiever, Hyun-Sik would never let himself settle for anything but the best. He would spend every waking hour studying in solitude if it meant attaining a perfect score. Despite what his father said, there was no room for error in his work.

“Set a good example for the other students,” his father nodded sagely. “Show them what it means to earn your rank, and remember that you represent your family with everything you do.”

Hyun-Sik winced slightly as an image of his sickly mother appeared unwelcomed inside his mind. However, he recovered quickly so as not to show weakness before his father. The older man believed in hard expressions and square shoulders in the face of tragedy, and he would not stand for anything less. “Yes, sir,” came the determined reply.

“Good, good,” his father mused, glancing at his watch. “I have a meeting with an important client in half an hour, so I’ll leave you to do your moving in. Don’t let me down, Hyun-Sik.”

“Yes, father,” the student answered evenly. Numb to his father’s constant appointments and business meetings after so many years, he was unsurprised that the man wasn’t going to stay while he moved into the dorm. After all, there were more productive things he could do with his time than help his son unpack a suitcase. It was to be expected.

The two parted ways, and Hyun-Sik began the trek down to the boys’ dorms with his navy blue suitcase bumping along the sidewalk behind him. Along the way, he watched as other Sevit Academy students chatted nostalgically with old friends, shared parting embraces with family members, and struck up conversations with new students that they would most likely become friends with over the course of the semester. Their interactions were all very foreign to him. Stone-hearted and aloof, he didn’t have a close relationship with anyone. But that didn’t matter. In the end, friends were fickle and family was imperfect. The only things one was truly left with were the accomplishments he built for himself; the immortality of his title. It was a concept that few people seemed to understand, but Hyun-Sik held onto it religiously.

Now in the front lobby of the boys’ dorms, he thumbed through the alphabetized student IDs in search of his own name. It didn’t take long to find, as there were few others with a surname beginning with the letter “Y.” He checked the room assignment on his ID: 205; a second-floor room near the center of the hall. Perfect. It would be just close enough to the stairs that he could easily get around, yet just far enough away that he wouldn’t have to put up with the incessant noise of students running up and down as they traveled about the dorms. He couldn’t have hoped for a better location.

Hyun-Sik carted his suitcase to the elevator—while he usually preferred to take the stairs, it was easier to transport his luggage this way—and waved his key card in front of the scanner for admittance. The lock flashed green and emitted a soft buzz, and in the next moment, the elevator doors slid open. He stepped inside and pressed the second floor button, waiting as he was carried up to the next level of the building. When he reached it, he exited into the hallway and walked down to room 205, repeating the procedure of presenting his key card to a scanner and opening the door when the lock flashed green. He stepped into the room and looked around. So far, it seemed like his roommate had yet to arrive. He smiled. This meant he had first pick of the beds.

Hyun-Sik brought his suitcase to the window-side bed and dropped it on the mattress. Here, he would have a good view of the courtyard in front of the dorm. He cared little about the beauty of it, however, as his main goal was to be able to see the front entrance of the building. His father had always drilled into him the importance of having an edge over his rivals. While he didn’t have any yet, he wanted to be prepared in case he found himself with one or two later in the semester. Knowledge was power, after all, and knowing the whereabouts of his opponents could prove to be a useful tool in the future.

With his choice of bedding made, Hyun-Sik began unpacking his suitcase.
I'll see if I can get my first post done tonight or tomorrow!
Also, just so y'all know, I'm going on a two week vacation starting on Monday, so I'll be posting slowly until I get back
Piano is my favorite <3
And I write music sometimes. It's not fantastic, but it's not bad either

Ooh, seashell hunting? Do you live by the ocean?
I'm in a desert, so water amazes me xD
A friend. Yes, that was what Penelope had become to Crow over the course of their travels together. But what did that mean for their relationship? From what he knew, friends were people who relied on each other in tough times, who confided in each other their deepest secrets, who put each other’s needs before their own. Was he—a thief who relied on no one but himself for the majority of his life—really ready to follow through with such weighty commitments? It was true that he had helped the knight a few times before, but the thought of putting so much trust in her was unnerving. He had never put that much faith in anyone else before, so he wasn’t even sure how to start or if he even wanted to try. For now, he decided to continue with things as they were. If Penelope was worthy of his trust, she would be able to prove it to him eventually. Until then, he would only rely on her when he needed to, and he would keep his secrets to himself.

Crow was startled from his thoughts when Penelope leaned forward and playfully tousled his hair. He froze, surprised at her forwardness. Since when did she get so friendly with him? While they bantered often, she had never gone so far as to be physically rowdy. He was always the one who instigated those kinds of joking interactions. He smiled. Somehow, it pleased him to see her this comfortable around him. Well, if she wants to mess around, we can mess around.

When Penelope turned around to walk back to the village, Crow snuck up behind her and slipped his arm around her neck, pinning the knight in a playful headlock as he tousled her hair like she had done to him earlier. “Who cares what William thinks?” he grinned. “That old grump is always mad about something. I’ve given up trying to please him.”
Aww, lucky! I want to go someday :)

And yeah, I'd say that counts, haha.
I used to be into anime and manga, but I've gotten too busy to keep up with it anymore.
As for hobbies, I have a lot ^_^;
I'm a pianist, so I spend a lot of time playing music.
I've also gotten into running recently, so I'm training to do distance (I can only run a little over a mile at the moment... o~o;)
And like you, I dabble in lots of other things that I don't think necessarily qualify as hobbies.
Bowling, tennis, movie watching, swimming, tubing, swing dancing, etc... Whatever my friends are willing to do with me xD
Crow felt warmth creep up his neck and flush his cheeks at Penelope’s words. She actually understood him? Was that even possible? As much as he racked his brain, he couldn’t remember a single time when someone ever sympathized with him before. Everyone always wrote him off as a heartless criminal or a twisted man with no moral compass. Sure, there were some people who took the time to get to know him at least a little bit, such as Evelyn, but he could tell they had all kept an emotional distance from him. It was only natural. He was infamous for lying and betraying, so they had every reason to believe he would do the same to them. After all, who would be crazy enough to trust a thief?

Apparently this knight was. Crow smiled melancholically as she listed the times when he had helped her without seeking personal gain. She was right; there had been a few moments when he put his own needs aside for her. He wondered why that was. As long as he had been on his own, he had always put his own interests before anyone else’s, even causing them trouble if it meant he could attain his goals. But now, it seemed that something inside him had changed. It had taken him until this moment to realize it, but he actually cared about when Penelope was unhappy or in trouble.

Is this what it’s like to have a friend?

“Looks like you caught me,” Crow laughed and held up his hands in a shrug. “I do have a heart.” He dropped his gaze to the ground for a moment before continuing somewhat bashfully. “Also… thanks. No one has ever tried to understand me before. It’s… nice. Nice to know that not everyone thinks I’m a thoughtless criminal, I mean.”
Yosemite and Yellowstone would both be amazing!
I've never been to either one, but they look beautiful.

And it's cool to meet someone on RPGuild who likes hiking, too!
It seems like most people aren't interested ^~^;
Anyway, do you have any other hobbies?
“I’m fine,” Crow shook his head when Penelope asked if he could walk on his own. “Don’t worry about it.” The knight stepped closer to him, examining his condition. He tensed and looked away, uncomfortably aware of her proximity. She seemed to have that effect on him quite often as of late. It really was annoying. Yet the concern in her eyes also left the thief with an unfamiliar, fuzzy feeling in the pit of his stomach that wasn’t so unpleasant. It was almost like he wanted to run away from her but also move a bit closer to her at the same time. He closed his eyes, feeling overwhelmed by the tangle of foreign emotions. What’s wrong with me?

“On the topic of wounds,” Penelope said, seemingly oblivious of his discomfort—or perhaps she merely thought he was in pain. “I wonder if we have anything for your burns...”

Crow stared at her with intrigue. The knight really did care about his injuries. Honestly, he had only expected her to worry about his falsely wounded leg because it would slow them down on their way back to the village, but instead she was pondering how to heal his burns as well. The thought left him with a warm feeling, but it quickly disappeared as the untrusting part of his conscience began to whisper: She only cares because your injuries will hinder your mission. It was a disappointing thought, though it was a valid one, too. Was Penelope helping him out of genuine companionship, or was she simply repairing a tool for later use? Given his past experiences with knights, the latter seemed more likely.

But, then again, Penelope wasn’t like the other knights.

“Tell me something,” Crow spoke up. His vague tactics of manipulation weren’t getting him anywhere, so, for once, he decided to try being straightforward. The thief met her gaze evenly as he went on. “Why are you being so nice to me? All I’ve done so far is lie, cheat, and steal from you. Sure, I’ve helped out a couple times, but only because I’m now bound to this job by my word. I don’t get it.” He shook his head again. “Why am I getting fair treatment all of the sudden?”
Aw, thanks x3
And film sounds like a cool major, too!
One of the guys I talked to at my orientation is going into film as well, and he's super excited.

Oh my gosh, yes!!! I love hiking and camping.
I already signed up for a six day rafting trip through the San Juan river in Utah over the summer, and I'm planning to sign up for a three day backpacking trip through Zion in the fall
I'll also be living less than an hour away from the Grand Canyon, so I'm planning to take a backpacking trip through there with my friends at some point
It's gonna be great ^_^
I quit because I'm moving about three hours away from where I currently live, so I can't keep my job even if I wanted to :P

I'm majoring in Interior Design with a minor in Psychology (although I might change it to Photography) ^_^
I'm gonna be going straight to a university for four years, so I'm pretty excited!
I love the college I picked, too. It's in one of the top 10 college towns in America, and there are tons of outdoorsy things to do (hiking, camping, snowboarding, intense obstacle courses, backpacking, white-water rafting, etc...)
Gonna get in killer shape~ B3
