There's a panhandler who hangs out on the street corner by our dispensary every afternoon with a sign that just says "Green 4 Green?" and tbh, I respect my boy's confidence.

Personal Profile

Name: Taylor
Pronouns: They/them
Age: Mid 20s
Relationship: Married (happily, I might add)
Time Zone: Arizona (we hate daylight savings, so it's MST year-round)
Writing History: I've been on a number of different roleplaying websites for over a decade and a half
Hobbies: Writing, fitness, driving/exploring, hiking, camping, traveling, tabletop games, anything NEW (I love trying things I've never done before)
Roleplayer Profile

Format: 1x1s only. Maybe I'll try a group RP again someday, but I've never had one last longer than a few months
Posting Speed: Depending on my schedule, I can usually post at least once per week
Favorite Genres: Modern, Historical, Romance, Action/Adventure, Horror/Dark, Fantasy, Slice of Life, Dystopian, can be convinced to write some Sci-Fi
Hard 'no's: Fandoms. Sorry, but I can't maintain interest in characters/worlds I didn't build with my partner
Template: Public threads or PMs. I prefer to keep all my RPs in one place, so no emails or G-docs or the like
Rating: Comfortable with 18+ content, but it's not a necessity and I prefer not to center a plot around explicit scenes
Level: Advanced. Will consistently provide around 400-700 words per post, but can occasionally leap to 2000+
Character preference: One main character, but large side casts are greatly enjoyed. Because I write long posts, I prefer not to double
Gender preference: Male. You'll be hard pressed to convince me to play a female that isn't a background character. It's just not my forte
Romantic Relationships: MxF or MxM (currently prefer MxM)
Character Images: Faceclaims or detailed descriptions only. I envision the characters like real people in my mind, so I can't take anime seriously
OOC chat: Yes please! I'm a total extrovert who loves to get to know the amazing minds behind my partners' characters

This is exciting stuff. I like all the potential this RP has!
I can't wait to see it all play out.

Anyway, I'll try to write my reply tomorrow. I'm packing for four weeks worth of trips tonight, and I'm leaving tomorrow. Also, I'm going to Mexico July 13-17 for a wedding (one of my trips), so I won't be able to reply at all during that time. I have another 15 day RV trip after that with my family, and wifi might be spotty, but I'll try to reply when I can during that time!
I like those ideas! Maybe their mothers were best friends from the same village and knew each other before Penelope's mom died, and Crow's mom was just too sad about it to ever bring her up in conversation with him. He would have been really young when she passed, so he wouldn't remember her anyways.

Also, maybe their fathers know each other too, since both mothers ended up with noblemen?
I don't think Penelope's dad would like crow's very much though because he's as stereotypically proud as a noble can get. They could still have met before at least.

Ooh, maybe they were both passing through the village at the same time, except Crow's father just got Madeleine (that's Crow's mom's name, which hasn't been revealed IC yet) pregnant and bailed, but Penelope's father came back because he loved her mom, and she didn't get pregnant until later in their relationship?

I dunno if you've already thought up a story for her parents, but it would be kinda cool if Crow and Penelope's histories were that tangled up.
It's all good! Mine was kinda short too.
There's always gonna be some interactions where you don't have much to add without the post getting too fluffy, you know?

I'll probably reply tomorrow, because I'm packing up for four weeks worth of trips, yay xD
Also, July 13-17 is when I'll be in Mexico, and I'm not bringing my computer, so I won't be replying to any posts. I have another trip right after that one, but I should have wifi some of the time, so I'll bring my computer on that one (also, it's like a 15 day trip, so I don't want to leave you hanging for that long!)
I'm good with wherever the story takes us! I already have some big picture ideas that we can discuss when we get a little farther into the RP. It'll keep it going after the part in Younis, since I'm assuming we still want this to be long-term :)

I'll tell you a few of them now, so you get the idea of the kinds of "big-pictures" I've been thinking about for our RP

In a nutshell: I'm thinking we could have the group discover some dark secret of the king of Brerra that either causes them to not bring the staff back to him or to let the King of Younis keep it.

Also, there are other kingdoms besides those two, and I was thinking maybe there's a really big kingdom in the North that is doing the same thing as Brerra, which is taking over its neighbors. Basically, the Northern kingdom has spies all throughout Brerra and Younis, who are trying to get a war started between the two kingdoms. Once they're weak, the bigger kingdom plans to swoop in and eat them both up. (Maybe the rebels from earlier are secretly part of the spy collaboration, and lied about their true intentions? Just an idea.)

Basically, that would leave our characters - the only ones who know the truth - to find a way to stop the takeover from happening.

Also, we could throw in some supernatural stuff with godly intervention and all that later on if we feel like heading in a complex direction. (Not like making our characters have powers, but rather they can interact with the gods some of the time or just once). For an emotional twist, we could throw in a reunion between Penelope and her deceased mother in spirit form when the supernatural events go down. Maybe Crow and his mother too, but mostly Penelope and hers because they never got to know each other.

These are all still nubbins of ideas though. We will have to see what happens with the plot we already have going first, and then we can start throwing in bigger twists like that :)
Roman bit his lip to suppress a grin when Abigail thanked him for saving her and said that she would forgive his scene at Morning Star earlier that morning. It sounded like he was in. He just hoped his damned misfortune would stay away for once so he wouldn’t lose her trust again. He still couldn’t put his finger on it, but there was something different about this girl, something that kept him wanting to come back. No other woman had ever had an effect like that on him. It was strangely off-putting and addictive at the same time.

“Nah,” he shrugged when the waitress asked—probably jokingly, but he didn’t know her well enough to tell—if he was the real Spiderman. “The name’s Roman; Roman Sousa.” He held out his hand to shake hers and smiled in a friendly manner. “Nice to meet you again, Abigail the Waitress.” He fought off a victorious laugh when she asked if he could take her somewhere else. Awfully trusting of strangers, aren’t you? he thought, his eyes sweeping over her hungrily. It was almost too easy… But he wasn’t about to give away his real intentions: to score a one night stand with this beautiful woman.

“Of course,” Roman said. He stepped over to his bike, which was still parked on the sidewalk, popped up the kickstand, and swung his leg over the side of it. He patted the small passenger seat behind him, grinning impishly at Abigail. “Ever ridden a motorcycle before, pretty lady?”
Oh my geez...
I love those ideas so much :D
We could have the old friend run into them at the border (maybe the king sent him/her ahead as a spy before the main pose got there?)
I'll leave it up to you to decide if you'd rather it be a guy or girl, because I'd be happy with either :)

Also, I like the capture idea as a little side plot to take a break from the main story.
It would have to be another seized-and-escape type of deal, but those are always fun
@TacoNinja Of course! Let me know if you ever want anything else :)
I'm thinking we could have them stop when they pass the border. They can set up camp and take a day to prepare to go into the outlying towns of Younis.

Also, that's where the olive forest is that Crow wants to visit, so I could see him fussing if they drove right through without stopping xD

Can you think of anything entertaining to happen on the border?
I know William and Abraxxas haven't practiced their accents, so it could be funny for them to humble themselves to Crow and Penelope and be taught.
If you have any other ideas (action or otherwise), I'm all ears!
I'm good with whatever honestly. We can skip ahead though since we're in a slow spot
@TacoNinja I had some unexpected free time today, so I finished the commission!
