There's a panhandler who hangs out on the street corner by our dispensary every afternoon with a sign that just says "Green 4 Green?" and tbh, I respect my boy's confidence.

Cool ^^ We can do that the next time they meet
We can also do the first idea if its fits in later

I like that idea too!
I think we should just go with my idea for now, and throw in the storm later when they're closer again
I could totally see it leading to them cuddling tbh xD

That works really well for me, actually.
I'm leaving for my overnight trip later this evening, and I won't be back until like 6 or 7 on Saturday
My Sunday meeting got cancelled this weekend, so I have all day free then ^^

I'm getting started on my reply in a couple minutes

EDIT: I'm good with another time skip if we don't have anything to write about between now and their next meeting.

The only thing I was thinking would happen is that the thieves steal from the knights' supplies one more time
This time, they would take food
I had a couple ideas. One was that something would happen between the thieves and the knights (probably best if it didn't happen until after the next meeting between Crow and Penelope, so they'll be on slightly better terms)
Basically, I was thinking what could happen is this: Rikki leaves the camp at some point before her leg fully heals (I see her as the type to get wander lust, so she would probably just leave because she felt like it). While she's out, a patrol spots her and gives chase. One of the other thieves happens to be nearby and sees the knights closing in on her (could even be Crow). He would go to try to help her escape and end up being overpowered by the knights because there are too many of them. However, the knights wouldn't kill him because they want to interrogate him to find out where all of their stolen supplies are (the thieves had been stealing from them for months now, so they've lost quite a bit). Instead, they take him back to the camp.
I could see this going one of two way. If the prisoner is Alistair or Simon, Crow would be determined to go to the knights' camp to rescue him. He might also ask for Penelope's help. However, if Crow is taken captive, I could see Penelope feeling like she has to be the one to help him escape, even though she would be risking everything again.

My other idea is more for a private interaction between Crow and Penelope. I was thinking that some sort of accident could happen to either one of them and they end up stuck somewhere together. My main idea is that right after their next meeting, they see some knights walking towards them as they leave the tavern, so they run into the woods to hide, but get spotted anyway. The knights give chase to find out who they are, and one of them ends up twisting an ankle that leaves them unable to walk. I feel like it would make more sense if it happened to Penelope, because if Crow got injured, she could just help him back to the thieves' camp, but he can't bring her to the knights because they'll arrest him.

What do you think? We could do one or both or neither ^^
I'm also open to other suggestions if you don't like these

I'm going to bed in a couple minutes, so I'll get a reply done after my run tomorrow
Ooh, reggae xD
Those are both really good!
I listened to one that fits Crow pretty well recently, but I forgot what it was. I'll post it if I think of it or it pops up on my playlist again

Do you have any ideas for what could happen between now and the next battle, since there's a while left?
Or even between now and Crow and Penelope's next meeting.
I have a couple ideas, but I wanted to see if you had any first :)

Also, I feel like they're gonna need to find themselves alone together at some point outside of business meetings for them to really start reconnecting
That's how they got close when they first met too ^^
Crow had almost reached the door to the tavern when he felt a hand on his shoulder. He flinched slightly and spun around, still on edge from Gavin’s appearance. When he saw that it was only Penelope, he relaxed a bit, but remained tense. Even though he was fairly confident that she hadn’t expected her suitor to show up any more than he had, he couldn’t help taking out some of his frustration on her. He knew it was irrational, but at that moment, he found it difficult to be anything but.

As she explained that she hadn’t known he was following her and confirmed his suspicion, Crow silently reprimanded himself for how coldly he was acting towards her. It wasn’t her fault. He knew he shouldn’t blame her for the interruption. However, part of his bitterness did have to do with the fact that she had chosen this man over him. He was trying to move on, but her rejection was still recent. It would be hard enough to face her future husband even if he had come to terms with their separation, but to see him now, while he was still wrestling with the pain of losing her, was too much for him to handle.

He listened wordlessly as she went on to tell him that her conversation with the barons had been fruitful. It was the news he had been hoping for, but in that moment, he couldn’t bring himself to feel happy about it. Instead, he simply nodded, “Good.”

At her following question, Crow took a moment to think. He glanced over her shoulder to see Gavin watching them from a distance. The sight of the man observing them so closely made his skin crawl. Though it wasn’t Penelope’s fault, he knew he was going to need some time away from her to process everything that just happened. “We can meet again in one week,” he answered curtly. It would hopefully be enough time for him to move past running into Gavin.

Not wanting to linger to negotiate the time with her, he tipped his head in a silent goodbye to Penelope and walked out of the tavern, making his way briskly towards the forest.
Crow got super hostile ^^;
As soon as Crow saw Penelope, he waved her over to where he was sitting. He grinned, unable to hold back his excitement at both seeing her again, and knowing she was about to tell him the news he had been waiting for. However, his expression vanished as he caught sight of another person enter the tavern a short while after her. A knight had stepped in, one that he didn’t recognize. The thief stiffened and lowered his gaze, reaching up to draw his hood a little further to cover his face. He hoped that he was far enough away from the entrance that this man, whoever he was, wouldn’t catch sight of him.

This is bad, he clenched his jaw, eyes already darting over the room as he marked potential routes of escape in case the knight spotted him. He didn’t want to ditch Penelope, but getting away without a fight was more important to him than waiting around and hoping the man wouldn’t notice him. He began shifting towards the edge of his chair in preparation to run as soon as the knight looked away.

However, to his surprise, it seemed that he wasn’t the target.

He wavered slightly as the stranger addressed Penelope with a confused tone. It seemed like they already knew each other. He frowned. That had to mean that this knight wasn’t one of the local guards. He had to be part of the battalions that had been sent to fight in the war. But if that was the case, then what was he doing here in Myrefall, of all places? The more he thought about it, the more bewildered he became.

Suddenly, the knight turned towards Crow, and he tensed, rising slowly to his feet and backing away from the table as he readied himself to run. Just because this man knew Penelope, it didn’t mean he was someone he could trust. He glared warningly as he reached for one of the daggers at his waist, his movement hidden beneath the cloak he was wearing. Even though he didn’t want to fight, he was more than willing to do so if the stranger came after him.

Penelope went on to speak with the knight, and the thief watched them warily. He noticed that she seemed just as surprised to see him in the tavern as he was to see her. After she explained herself to him—with a very false story, Crow noted—he appeared to relax. The thief didn’t follow suit. He continued to observe them from a slight distance as he waited to see whether or not he needed to run.

Eventually, Penelope turned back to face him with an uncomfortable expression. “Crow, this is Gavin... my suitor.”

He stared at her, fighting to keep from giving away his shock. This was her suitor? He glanced back at the other knight—Gavin, she had called him. It felt strange to be face to face with the man his former lover intended to marry. He wasn’t quite sure how to react. Inside his head, his mind raced with dozens of different thoughts and emotions that he had a hard time keeping straight. He remembered the pain of her rejection; he wondered who this man was to have won over her heart; he sized him up in physical comparison with himself.

Above all, he felt a surge of jealously that he wasn’t expecting.

“Is that so?” Crow finally responded with a bitter edge to his voice. He tilted his chin up slightly as he eyed Gavin from where he stood across the table. “Forgive me if I find his appearance to be an unwelcomed surprise.” He turned back towards Penelope with a still cold gaze. “I should go. I don’t want to stick around if any more of your comrades show up.” With that, he turned to head for the door, keeping Gavin in his peripheral vision in case the knight chose to go after him.
This will be interesting xD

Thanks! I appreciate it lol

EDIT: Dang, just noticed I missed the last line of your post when Penelope got to the tavern
I may or may not be distracted by watching HIMYM right now >>
In his excitement to hear about the outcome of Penelope’s talk with the other knights, Crow traveled a bit faster than usual to Myrefall. It was fortunate for him that there still weren’t many patrols out so soon after the war, because he wasn’t paying as close attention to his surroundings as he normally did. Instead, his mind wandered to his eagerness to see Penelope again. As her soft smile appeared in his mind, his heart began to beat a little bit faster. However, in the next instant, Rikki’s voice echoed: Be careful. She’s not one of us.

His upper lip twitched slightly in annoyance at the unwelcomed thought, She was wrong. It’s just the remnants of my feelings for her. I’m not going to do anything about them. Having fooled himself into believing he was moving on, he felt more at peace as he made his way down the street that led to the Ivory Hatchet.

Now in the village, he slowed his pace so he wouldn’t stand out if any local knights caught sight of him and watched the alleyways between houses more carefully for signs of movement. While he was still excited to see Penelope, he couldn’t let himself completely forget about the possible dangers he might face if a knight chose to approach him. Still wounded from the last battle, he wanted to avoid fighting for as long as he could. So, he kept his head down until he reached the tavern.

Crow selected an empty table near the far end of the room. Now that he and Penelope were meeting there more frequently, he wanted to alternate where they sat so the regulars at the tavern would be less likely to notice their recurring visits. He sat down in a chair facing the doorway, so he could signal to the knight when she arrived, since she probably wouldn’t expect to look for him in the new location.

Shortly after he sat down, a wench came to ask him what he wanted to drink. He drummed his fingers on the table for a moment before answering her, “Two honey meads.” He figured that since Penelope had gone out of her way to help him save the villagers, the least he could do was pay for her drink.

“I’ll be right back with those,” the girl nodded.

“Thanks, love,” Crow offered her a friendly smile as she turned to fetch the drinks. Once she had gone, he turned back to watch the front door again, fidgeting slightly in his excitement as he waited for Penelope to walk through.
Crow might get a little flighty if he sees another knight show up with Penelope xD
Also, Rikki just totally called him out on his feelings for her

That was fine! I had no plans in between

Kind of. We were supposed to get an AutoCAD file for the exterior shell of a physical therapy center we're designing in my class, but apparently there wasn't one. My prof did find one that's not in the right scale, so I have to do math to find and fix all the portions that are wrong now :'D
It's going to take soo longg
Crow spent the entirety of the following day at the thieves’ camp. Since most of them were still recovering from their various injuries, they took the day to relax without worrying about leaving to run any errands or check up on the knights. Simon was the only one who left, but even he merely ran a brief, solo patrol of the forest around their hideout. Even though Crow had told them all about what Penelope had said regarding the fact that the knights weren’t sending out as many scouts, the paranoid thief made a point to double check. Fortunately for all of them, the day went by without any trouble.

On the second day, Crow began to grow restless. Today was the day that Penelope would be speaking to the other knights about leaving the villagers alone. Part of him was tempted to sneak into the knights’ camp to try and eavesdrop on their conversation, but he knew it would have been foolish to even bother. It wasn’t like he could do anything to change the outcome of their decision, even if he was present. In fact, he would probably just cause more problems for himself if he got caught. It wasn’t worth the risk. Besides that, he trusted Penelope to deal with the situation by herself. She had proven to him over and over in the past that she was more than capable of handling herself under stressful circumstances. If anyone could persuade the other knights to change their ways, it would be her.

“Hey, Crow,” Rikki called to him from off to the side, where she was sitting on a log and whittling a piece of wood with her carving knife. The female thief was watching him with an amused expression, “You’ve been pacing over there since midday. What’s the matter?”

“Nothing,” Crow shook his head. He casted a quick glance towards the edge of the ravine before walking over to sit next to her. However, he was too full of nervous energy to sit still.

“Hey, hey, hey,” Rikki pressed her hand down on his thigh, which he had been bouncing restlessly as he gazed up at the far edge of the camp. “Stop that before I cut somebody on this knife.”

“Sorry,” Crow shifted to put a bit of distance between them.

Rikki stared at him for a moment longer and then narrowed her eyes slightly, “You’re really concerned about this noblewoman, aren’t you?”

“What?” Crow turned to her, a bit caught off guard by the sudden question. Recovering quickly, he shook his head and sighed, “No. It’s just…. This is the closest we’ve ever come to making a real step to save the villagers out here. I want it to go well.”

“I get that,” Rikki nodded in solemn agreement. “I want it to go well too, but—” she suddenly gave him a shove that knocked him off the log they were sitting on. “You have got to stop with that incessant fidgeting.”

“That was uncalled for,” Crow glared up at her from the ground.

“Yeah, but you stopped your stupid leg shaking,” Rikki smirked victoriously as she went back to whittling her stick. “You can come back up here when you promise you’ll sit still.”

Crow just rolled his eyes at her and obstinately laid back in the grass, propping his head on his arms and closing his eyes. With nothing else to do until his meeting with Penelope that night, he supposed he might as well pass the time by napping. He had just begun to drift off when he felt someone nudge his side with their boot. He opened one eye to see Rikki looking down at him, and he frowned confusedly. He had thought she was finished speaking to him.

“I know we usually don’t talk about this stuff,” she started a bit hesitantly, avoiding his gaze as she examined the edge of her stick. “But I was wondering… You don’t just want information from this Penelope knight…. Do you?”

Crow propped himself up on his forearms as he looked up at her with a mixture of curiosity and wariness. Even though they were physical with each other, they had never intended to be exclusive. Both he and Rikki had had other partners occasionally, but they had made a point to never question each other about it. For her to be doing so now—even though she had the wrong idea—was strange.

“I’m not interested in her, if that’s what you’re implying,” he said. It was only a partial lie. Even though he knew he still had feelings for Penelope, he also knew that nothing would ever come from it. There was no point in even trying to win her back.

“Crow, don’t lie to me,” Rikki sighed, calling his bluff. She set aside her knife and stick to look down at him again. “I’m not blind. I saw the way you looked at her when she came to our camp with that other knight. I’ve never seen you look at anyone like that before.” Her lip twitched slightly. “I don’t know what your relationship is to her, but it worries me. I mean, she’s a knight. Sure, have a couple flings with her or whatever. I don’t care, but for the love of gods, don’t let it turn into anything more than that.”

Crow shifted slightly, “It’s not like that. Besides, she has a suitor.”

“Oh, well that’s perfect,” Rikki said with a false note of cheerfulness. “I guess I had nothing to worry about!” She snorted. “Please. A suitor isn’t a spouse. I know that’s not going to stop you if you want her badly enough. All I’m trying to say is… be careful. She’s not one of us.”

Crow laid in silence for a moment, thinking over her words. He thought he had started to move on from Penelope, but was Rikki right? Was there still a part of him that was hoping they would get back together? No way, he thought stubbornly. I’ve accepted that it’s over. She’s wrong.

“Look,” he said after a moment, getting up from the ground to sit by her on the log. “I appreciate the concern, love, but there’s nothing between us.” To prove his point, he leaned in and pressed a deep kiss to her lips, wrapping one arm around her back while he traced the length of her thigh with his free hand. After a bit, he pulled back again and smirked, “See?”

Rikki chuckled breathlessly, “Good effort, but it’s going to take more than that to convince me.”

“You’re insatiable,” he laughed, nudging her playfully.

Even though it didn’t seem like he had convinced her, the tension between them had lifted, and they were able to spend the rest of the evening talking comfortably with each other until it came time for Crow to leave. Once darkness fell over the ravine, Crow got up to get his cloak and headed out to meet with Penelope in Myrefall.
