There's a panhandler who hangs out on the street corner by our dispensary every afternoon with a sign that just says "Green 4 Green?" and tbh, I respect my boy's confidence.

I'm excited to see how Lucy fits into the story though. She sounds like an interesting character

Ah sorry, my mom called and she talks for a really long time lol
I finally got a post up though!
“Great,” Crow nodded when Penelope said they could meet again in four days. He wished there was a way that he could see her sooner, but since he was going to be in Younis, that wouldn’t be possible. Besides, even if he could find time to sneak away, Simon was too observant to lose that easily. Until he managed to think of a viable excuse to fool the other thieves, he wouldn’t be able to see her outside of their regular meetings anyway. The thought gave him more motivation to work on a plan.

He smiled as Penelope kissed him on the cheek, wrapping his arms around her to return her embrace. “See you then,” he said, parting with her reluctantly when she pulled back. As they made their way towards the door, he drew the hood of his cloak to hide his face on the off chance that there were any local knights patrolling the area. He met her gaze and grinned, “I’ll do my best.” Of course, he knew he was going to have to make some risky moves to pull off the raid of the Younisians’ supplies, but he intended to be cautious about it. After all, he didn’t want to lose his life on a foolhardy endeavor mere days after he got back together with Penelope.

Once they were outside, Crow parted ways with Penelope to return to his own camp. They had only just gotten together again, but he could already tell that this time was going to be very different than the last. Two years ago, they had spent the entirety of their journey together without needing to separate for longer than a day, and that had only been to infiltrate the castle. With the way things were now, they would be lucky if they could even see each other every other day, and even that wasn’t likely. He sighed. Until the war ended, it seemed that they would just have to make the most of the little time they had.

His walk back to the ravine was spent in deep thought, as he pondered how he was going to be able to get away from the other thieves without raising suspicion. He considered telling them he was going on a raid by himself, but quickly decided against the idea. For one thing, they would only buy that lie so many times before they started to question why he was leaving on raids so often, and for another, he didn’t want to set a precedent of going out alone when he had already told them to stay in pairs when they left camp. It would be hypocritical and possibly put them in danger if they chose to follow his example. There had to be another way.

Crow was so lost in thought by the time he got back to the hideout that he didn’t notice the figure follow him down the side of the ravine.

When he got to the bottom, he removed his cloak and hung it up on a tree branch, raising his arms over his head in a long stretch. After traveling all day and sleeping with Penelope that night, he was ready for a good, long rest. He turned to head into the shelter for the night. However, before he reached it, he flinched as he felt someone grab him by the shoulder.

Whirling around, he jumped back and reached for the daggers at his waist, only to freeze in surprise as he found himself face to face with Hazel. He blushed as he noticed a smug smirk on her lips, realizing she was pleased for having caught him off guard, and he straightened his posture in an attempt to recover from his hasty reaction. “What are you doing out at this hour?” he whispered, narrowing his eyes.

“Working on your medicine, that’s what,” she huffed, placing her hands on her hips. “It’s not like I want to be out this late. This is all your fault for not telling your friends why I’m really here. Now, I have to sneak around if I want to get anything done.” She suddenly stopped, pursing her lips as she looked him over suspiciously. “And just what are you doing out?”

“I had my meeting with the knight,” Crow answered simply.

“Uh huh,” Hazel drawled in obvious disbelief. “I call bullshit. There’s no way it took that long for her to tell you whatever it is that you two claim to talk about.”

“It didn’t,” Crow shrugged carelessly. “She showed up late because she had some trouble getting away from her camp. The meeting itself was short.”

Hazel eyed him for a moment longer before letting out a snort, “A lie like that might have worked on me once before, but I’m not falling for your silver tongue anymore, snake.” She took a step forward and leaned up to get close to his face. “I know you’re hiding something. Just spill it already. You’re sleeping with this woman, aren’t you?”

“I already explained myself to you,” he said calmly, ignoring her attempt to draw a reaction out of him. “I’m not going to say it again. Besides,” he smirked, leaning in a little closer to her. “Why do you care so much about what I do with other women?”

She flushed, drawing back from him and averting her gaze. “I-I don’t care,” she scoffed. “I just… It’s not… You shouldn’t be…” she groaned in exasperation and raked her fingers through her red hair, shooting him a cold look. “You’re a real pain in the ass, you know that? Here.” She dug in her bag and pulled out a small object, shoving it roughly into his chest. “I just wanted to give you this before I go to bed… jackass.”

Crow blinked and took the item from her, holding it up to see that she had given him a jar. “What’s this?” he asked, glancing back at her curiously.

“It’s the medicine I worked on tonight,” she muttered. “Try it out and let me know if you feel any different in the morning.” With that, she shoved past him to head into the shelter, walking briskly in her eagerness to get away from him.

He watched her go until she disappeared from sight and then smiled to himself. The herbalist was quite an abrasive person to be around, but at least she seemed genuine in her desire to help him recover from his illness. He looked down at the jar in his hands. While it wasn’t likely that Hazel had found the cure to his disease on her first try, he felt hopeful for the first time that he was finally on track to get better.

He opened the container and brought it to his lips, tilting his head back as he downed the draught she had made. The liquid inside tasted bitter, but it wasn’t as rancid as the one he had been given by the herbalist in Myrefall, so he managed not to gag on it. Once he had finished all of it, he stowed the jar away in a storage bag with some of his other things, so it would be out of sight. Then, he made his way into the shelter to sleep for the night, drifting off almost as soon as his head touched the ground from his exhaustion from the long day.
I like the idea of combining 4 and 5, especially since you seem to have some ideas for it already xD

So much relationship drama with Penelope and Gavin, and Crow with Rikki/maybe Hazel. I love it

I feel like if we included the part with Lucy, Crow would come to resent her really fast because she'll be intruding on his alone time with Penelope lol
I think if we include it, we should wait for a bit so Crow and Penelope have at least some time together and possibly figure out another way to meet up more often
Either way, I'm good to add that in later or some other variation of the idea if we think of something better for Lucy ^^

Sorry it's taking me a while to reply. My phone crapped out on me (it stopped charging and died), so I had to get a new one this morning and it took a long time to set up
I have a few ideas for things that can happen, mostly on Crow's end but a few that would impact both of our characters

1. (kind of minor) Hazel is going to be experimenting with different medicines on Crow, so they'll be interacting more in secret even though neither one of them wants to be near the other
2. It won't take long before Rikki figures out something's different with Crow now, and she'll confront him about it (I have yet to decide if he'll be honest with her or not though)
3. We could throw in a battle started by the Younisians
4. Skirmish between the knights and thieves over one of the supply wagons they raid that causes a rise in tension between them again, especially with Layth, since he's pretty much the only knight left who still believes they need to stop the thieves
5. Penelope could find out about Crow's illness. I imagine he would pass out in front of her from either overexerting himself in a battle or during another escape from a patrol of knights, kind of like the first time when she twisted her ankle

Let me know if you like any of these ^^
I'm also open to other ideas if you have any!
“Alright then,” Crow said when Penelope agreed that the meetings they had for now were good enough. He met her lips as she kissed him and then nodded. “I’m sure we’ll think of something.” As he spoke, his mind was already working to figure out how he could steal more time alone with her. He didn’t know much about how the knights’ camp operated, but he could figure a few things out on his end. The biggest barriers he faced in making time to get away from the thieves were the frequent raids they went on. The trips often required a bit of traveling, and he didn’t have much of a chance to slip off without his absence being noticed. If he wanted to get away in the future, he was going to need a believable excuse.

As Penelope announced that they should get going, he nodded reluctantly. He knew she was right, although she didn’t know the full extent of the truth in her words. The raid he had planned with Simon would be his first since the beginning of his spells of fatigue, so he wanted to be well rested before they left. He hoped that in getting a bit more sleep, he would minimize his chance of passing out in the middle of the robbery. Of course, he had no clue if sleeping more would actually have an impact on his illness, but he was willing to try anything by now.

Following the knight’s lead, Crow got up from the bed and located his clothes on the floor, putting them back on in preparation to leave. He wished they had a bit more time together, but it seemed like they would be parting ways like this often until the war ended. For now, he would just have to content himself with the brief moments he had alone with her and hope the war came to a conclusion soon.

“Let’s see,” he mused aloud after Penelope asked him when they should meet again, stepping over to collect his cloak. “We won’t be able to meet again until I’m back, so… four days?” He met her gaze as he slung the fabric over his shoulders. “Is that a good time for you?”
It's gonna be bad xD
Especially with Hazel. She's not really interested in Crow anymore, but she gets jealous if she thinks he's going to settle down with any other woman, because he hadn't been willing to do that for her

Sorry that took a while! My husband's car stopped working, so I had to drive him to work ^^;
Crow thought for a moment when Penelope asked him what the plan was now. Honestly, he hadn’t thought that far ahead. He had been so caught up in trying to figure out his own problems that he hadn’t even considered the trouble they would face now that they were together. However, he was sure there had to be some way for them to spend time together. Whether it would mean sneaking out in the middle of the night more often or coming up with some other clever way to slip out of their camps without being suspected, he was willing to try anything to be with her.

He met Penelope’s gaze again with a concerned frown when she mentioned that Gavin already knew she was with him again. She seemed fairly confident that her former suitor wouldn’t tell anyone about them, but he wasn’t so quick to trust a man he barely knew. He wondered if there was some way that they could trick Gavin into believing they hadn’t actually gotten back together or that it wasn’t working out between them. Unfortunately, no simple solutions came to his mind.

In addition to the problem of Penelope’s ex suitor knowing about them, Crow was also going to have to make sure the other thieves didn’t find out too. If they learned he was in love with a knight, he didn’t know what they would do. They definitely wouldn’t approve of his relationship with her. Every single one of them hated nobles with a passion—especially Simon. He shuddered to think what the anxious thief would say if he learned his leader was so close to one of the people he loathed. For the sake of avoiding that conflict, he was going to have to tread carefully around his companions until the war was over.

He pulled Penelope a little closer and let out his breath in a long sigh. “I wish it was, too,” he murmured, nestling his head against hers. “But unfortunately, the world we live in isn’t very accepting of a relationship like ours. We’ll just have to do what we can with the hands we’ve been dealt and remember that things will get better once this war is over.”

Crow couldn’t wait for that. Once the war ended, he would be free from the responsibility of protecting the villagers, and the other thieves wouldn’t need him as much, so he wouldn’t feel guilty for leaving them. He and Penelope could move away from everything to live in by the lake in Farhill, where they would be able to move on with their lives without the unwanted judgment of others. It already sounded like a great life to him.

“I don’t know how often we’ll be able to meet for now,” he said after taking some time to think over her initial question. “But I don’t want to only see you during our formal meetings… Maybe you could pretend to go on a patrol and meet me here tomorrow?” He blinked as another thought came to him and then shook his head. “Damn. I forgot I told Simon that I would go with him to Younis tomorrow. We’ll probably be gone for a few days, so that won’t work.”

Sighing again, he met Penelope’s gaze with a halfhearted smile, “Sorry, love. We might have to stick with our regular meetings for now… but at least we can use this place.” He glanced up at the room. “We’ll have some privacy, so we can talk openly and ‘make the most of our time,’ as you so elegantly put it.” He winked at her teasingly. “Do you think that’s alright? I’ll try to think of something else, but for now, this is the best I can come up with.”
Cool cool ^^
Crow just realized he'll have to deal with Rikki later
Crow laid against Penelope with his arms wrapped around her, trailing one hand absently down the length of her back. It had been a long time since they had last slept together, and he had forgotten how much better it was to be with her than with any other women whom he didn’t care about in the same way. Even when he had slept with Rikki, a thief he considered to be his closest friend, he hadn’t felt the same happiness and peace that he felt afterwards when he was with Penelope. Being intimate with someone he loved was simply too different to compare.

At the thought of Rikki, he felt a wave of unease. He didn’t intend to tell any of his companions about his renewed relationship with Penelope, but it was going to be difficult to keep the secret from the female thief after they had established a rather physical friendship. If he wanted to keep her in the dark about everything, he would have to start thinking of excuses to put some distance between them and hope she didn’t question him about it too much. He just prayed she wouldn’t be too suspicious.

“Damn, I’ve missed you.” Penelope’s dazed voice drew his attention, and he smiled, nestling a bit closer to her on the bed. There was no point in worrying about Rikki now. He had plenty of time to do that later, so he wanted to enjoy the rest of his time with the knight while it lasted.

“I think it’s safe to say I’ll never look at this place the same way again,” he laughed, glancing up at the room before he turned back to kiss her on the forehead. “I never thought desecrating the memory of my childhood home would be so much fun.”
sorry, I had to go buy candy for the kids in my neighborhood x3
Apparently I'm hosting the Halloween party now, so I'm gonna deal with the trick or treaters too lol
