There's a panhandler who hangs out on the street corner by our dispensary every afternoon with a sign that just says "Green 4 Green?" and tbh, I respect my boy's confidence.

Crow finally has some numbers on his side xD

Same~ I'm super excited for that whole exchange, honestly
Crow listened quietly as Penelope gave him details about the other patrols from her camp, focusing intently so that he would be able to remember and reiterate the information to Jaxon when he met up with the thief again. It was fortunate for him that Penelope had been directly involved in the planning of where the other knights would be sent. Now, he knew exactly where a third of the patrols were located, and had a decent idea of where the rest had ended up. It would be a thorough report when he eventually made his way back to Jaxon.

He was just beginning to gain some hope in the situation as Penelope explained that all of the patrols were nowhere near Wheldrake nor the actual location of the thieves’ camp. However, his hope was quickly dashed when she added that she had told her baroness about Jaxon and his band. His lip twitched slightly as he stifled a worried frown. Now that Penelope’s superior knew who the real target was, his job to keep the knights away from their camp was going to be quite a bit harder to pull off. He hoped that the baroness would dismiss Penelope’s lead once they turned up with nothing after examining Wheldrake.

“Good job,” he returned her smile with a forced grin of his own. “Between our group’s efforts and your baroness’s influence, I’m sure we’ll be able to catch these murderers in no time.” Or Jaxon will think I betrayed him and everything will go straight to hell, he added with silent pessimism.

“Hey,” Olivia called suddenly to Gavin. “I’m tired. Let’s take a break for lunch.”

“We’re not even halfway there yet,” Gavin peered over his shoulder. “Surely you can make it that far before we stop.”

“But I want to stop now,” she whined obnoxiously. “There’s a perfect little clearing right up ahead. Let’s rest there.”

“I second that,” Alistair pitched in his support.

Rikki casted a furtive glance towards Crow before she raised one hand, “Me too.”

Not catching the look she had sent his way, Crow turned towards Gavin in amusement. “Looks like we’re stopping after all,” he said, using the same tone of voice the knight had often used against him whenever he won an argument.
Honestly, I'm enjoying all the different conflicts we have going on right now xD
It's very entertaining, because anything could happen

This is Olivia's paradise lmao
With Penelope’s small hand securely in his own, Crow managed to relax a little. He casted a discreet glance at Rikki, who had fallen behind a bit as she resumed watching their surroundings. She seemed to have given up on trying to get between them for now. He turned back to Penelope again as she answered his question. Fortunately, it sounded like Gavin wasn’t trying to come up with a plan behind his back. Unfortunately, that meant he had no new information to report to Jaxon. He sighed. We still have the rest of the trip left, he reminded himself. There’s still plenty of time to work on my other assignment when we get to Wheldrake.

As Penelope went on to say that she believed Gavin was more irritable because of Olivia and Alistair, Crow peeked back over his shoulder to look at them. Unlike himself and Penelope, the two were being quite physical with each other, casting playful touches as they walked. He could certainly understand why that would get under Gavin’s skin. However, when she added that her former suitor probably guessed that he and Alistair were trying to turn the female knights against him, the thief snorted in response. The idea that he and his companion were just trying to seduce the women for personal gain was just ridiculous to him.

“He’ll just have to learn to accept that just because we’re criminals doesn’t mean we’re always manipulating other people,” he said with a shake of his head. However, even as the words left his mouth, he already felt another pang of guilt. Even though it was the furthest thing from his intention to use Penelope for selfish reasons, he would be lying if said that her faith in him wasn’t an advantage. Even if he slipped up while he was operating for Jaxon, it would take quite a bit to convince her not to believe whatever excuse he made up to explain away his mistake. He winced at the realization that whether he liked it or not, he was probably going to be forced to use their relationship against her at some point.

Not wanting her to notice his discomfort, he cut short the silence between them by asking, “If your barons sent your patrol to Wheldrake, where did they decide to send the other ones?” He turned to meet her gaze with a concerned frown. “We had a few close calls on our trip to Aramoor last time, and there were only four of us then. Now that there are more of us, we’ll probably stand out a lot more if we’re spotted again.” He studied her green eyes searchingly, hoping she would buy the lie and give him the locations of the other knights.
It's already kind of a mess xD
Rikki didn't waste any time trying to make a move on Crow
Crow studied Rikki tensely from the corner of his eye as he listened to the two women speak. He wasn’t sure what she was trying to do, but he knew that he didn’t trust her for a moment. She had made it perfectly clear that she didn’t approve of his relationship with Penelope, and nothing had happened since then that he could think of that would have changed her opinion about it. He subconsciously moved a little closer to the knight, prepared to step in if the female thief made any moves to cause trouble.

Being focused on what was happening right in front of him, he was caught slightly off guard as Gavin fell back to speak with Penelope. He blinked and turned away from Rikki to watch the other man instead. The knight’s jaw was set tensely and he moved with a faint stiffness that suggested that he was on edge. It wasn’t surprising, considering he hadn’t been expecting to work with more thieves, but Crow still wished he would realize that they were all on the same side.

“Alright,” Crow said quietly when Penelope said she should speak with him. He gave her hand a brief squeeze before letting his arm fall back to his side as she walked ahead with her former suitor. He let out his breath in a soft exhale. They had only just left Myrefall, and yet the trip to Wheldrake was already proving to be much more stressful than the last. It felt like trouble could come from any direction, whether Olivia decided to cause mischief, or Rikki tried to get between him and Penelope, or Gavin did something out of his mistrust of the thieves. The only one he even remotely trusted was Alistair, and that was just because the reckless thief seemed to be too enamored by Olivia to do any damage.

He shook his head faintly and ran a hand through his hair. On top of all that, he still had to handle the dilemma of how he was going to meet Jaxon’s demands without getting caught. Just the thought of working behind their backs—especially Penelope’s—made him feel sick, but he had to do it. He had already lost one of his companions to the murderous thief; he couldn’t be the cause of anyone else’s death.

“You’re quiet,” Rikki, who had stayed by his side, noted curiously. “What’s on your mind?”

Crow hesitated for a moment before answering. “I’m just worried that we might not find Jaxon in Wheldrake,” he lied. “Our lead sounded good, but we can’t know for sure if the group we heard about is really them.”

“I’m sure we’ll find something,” Rikki offered him a reassuring smile. “He doesn’t know we’re looking for him, so we’ve got the advantage. It won’t be long now before that bastard’s head rolls.”

If only you knew how wrong you are, Crow thought, biting his tongue to keep from telling her the truth. It wasn’t them that had the advantage. Jaxon, as always, was three steps ahead of them. There was no way they could catch up with him now. But he couldn’t reveal that to anyone. “I hope you’re right,” he said after a moment, forcing himself to pretend like he believed her.

“I will be,” Rikki winked at him. Her dark eyes flicked towards Gavin and Penelope for a moment before she leaned a little closer to him and rested a hand on his back. “This will all be over before we know it.”

Crow stiffened at her touch and brushed her arm aside. “I thought you were finished trying to get between me and Penelope,” he muttered irritably.

“What?” she rolled her eyes. “Am I not allowed to touch you anymore? Come on, Crow. It’s not like I reached for your—”

“It doesn’t matter,” he interrupted, casting her a cold look. “I know what you’re trying to do, and I’m not going to let it happen. You’ve said my friendship is important to you, so start acting like it.”

“Gods,” Rikki crossed her arms. “Someone’s in a bad mood today.”

Crow just scoffed in response and averted his gaze. A tense silence fell between them until Penelope dropped back to his side. He reached out to take her hand again quickly in an attempt to make it clear to Rikki where his loyalties laid. “Is everything alright?” he whispered in her ear, tipping his head subtly towards the other knight. While the question was partly out of concern for her, he was also hoping to find out if Gavin was trying to make any plans without involving him. For the sake of his assignment from Jaxon, he had to stay in the loop and know everything that went on during their mission. He felt a stab of guilt, but he concealed it by observing her intently as he awaited her response.
Olivia may have been a problem before, but I have a feeling Rikki is going to be so much worse ^^;
Crow stepped back slightly as Gavin walked over to join them. At the knight’s comment, he narrowed his eyes slightly but didn’t say anything more on the subject. There wasn’t anything he could say to make Gavin accept that his companions would be joining them for the rest of the mission, so the next best thing would be to drop it and let him come to terms with the situation on his own. He just hoped that nothing would come up to cause any more contention between them all.

He trailed after Penelope as the group began the journey to Wheldrake, falling quiet as his mind wandered once again to the problem of how he was going to meet all of Jaxon’s demands on the trip. However, he didn’t have time to think about it for long before Penelope’s voice caught his attention. He turned to look at her and nodded. “I filled them in on our walk here,” he said in answer to her question. “They know that Jaxon was the one behind the raid on your camp and that we’ve already searched Whitebridge and Aramoor.”

He glanced back over his shoulder at the other thieves. Alistair was still chatting idly with Olivia—he had slid his hand flirtatiously around the knight’s waist—while Rikki was keeping watch of their surroundings. With their attention off of him, Crow shifted to walk closer to Penelope, reaching to take her hand in his. “Also, they both know about us now,” he said under his breath, offering her a soft smile. “We don’t have to hide anything anymore. I just don’t want to flaunt it too much, because I don’t know how they’ll react, you know?”

Almost as if on cue, another voice sounded from his other side. “So,” Rikki grinned up at him as she fell in step on his other side. “We’re going to Wheldrake, huh? It’s kind of ironic, don’t you think? Considering you were supposed to go there last week, I mean.”

“I guess I was fated to go one way or another,” Crow shrugged.

“Mhm,” Rikki eyed him for a moment before she leaned forward to look around him at Penelope. “Hey, I haven’t seen you in a while,” she shot the knight a friendly smile, far from the cold look she had given Gavin earlier. “I bet you’re happy about how all of this turned out, huh? You got Crow all to yourself for a whole week.” Despite the lightheartedness of her words, there was a subtle edge to her voice as she spoke to the other woman.
No prob! I was playing Mario Kart with some friends xD
We're done now though because they're salty that I keep winning cx

I'll get started on a reply!
Crow is oblivious to how Penelope feels about Rikki ^^;
Since he's been working on moving forward from the incident, he just assumed that everyone else is as well
