There's a panhandler who hangs out on the street corner by our dispensary every afternoon with a sign that just says "Green 4 Green?" and tbh, I respect my boy's confidence.

Pronouns: They/them
Age: Mid 20s
Relationship: Married (happily, I might add)
Time Zone: Arizona (we hate daylight savings, so it's MST year-round)

Hobbies: Writing, fitness, driving/exploring, hiking, camping, traveling, tabletop games, anything NEW (I love trying things I've never done before)
Roleplayer Profile

Format: 1x1s only. Maybe I'll try a group RP again someday, but I've never had one last longer than a few months
Posting Speed: Depending on my schedule, I can usually post at least once per week
Favorite Genres: Modern, Historical, Romance, Action/Adventure, Horror/Dark, Fantasy, Slice of Life, Dystopian, can be convinced to write some Sci-Fi
Hard 'no's: Fandoms. Sorry, but I can't maintain interest in characters/worlds I didn't build with my partner
Template: Public threads or PMs. I prefer to keep all my RPs in one place, so no emails or G-docs or the like
Rating: Comfortable with 18+ content, but it's not a necessity and I prefer not to center a plot around explicit scenes

Character preference: One main character, but large side casts are greatly enjoyed. Because I write long posts, I prefer not to double
Gender preference: Male. You'll be hard pressed to convince me to play a female that isn't a background character. It's just not my forte
Romantic Relationships: MxF or MxM (currently prefer MxM)
Character Images: Faceclaims or detailed descriptions only. I envision the characters like real people in my mind, so I can't take anime seriously
OOC chat: Yes please! I'm a total extrovert who loves to get to know the amazing minds behind my partners' characters

That sounds rough! I just don't like routine xD I prefer it when every day is different, otherwise I feel suffocated.

All of that sounds great to me! And same. It's pretty 'slice of life' right now, but when the action kicks off, there's going to be a lot of it!
I can't wait for that xD Then I'll have to figure out what I'm doing with my life, since I think I wouldn't like working a classic 9-5. I might just end up writing novels instead!

Great! Also, I've had a burst of inspiration for this RP, so I've got some ideas to share cx It would be later in the story, but I don't want to forget.

Basically, I was thinking that it would be interesting if Iris's boyfriend showed up looking for her in the capital after she gets her memories back (it would create an interesting dilemma for her) but even more so, what if he schemes with her to take advantage of Caspian's trust? Since Cas has no idea she's a rebel, it wouldn't be difficult for her to trick him. Maybe her boyfriend wants her to kill him, but since they've developed a friendship (or something more) she compromises to help her bf kidnap him instead. That way, we could carry the RP to a different, more dynamic setting than the capital, where the characters have been the whole time, since Iris would have to bring him back to the rebellion. It would cause some betrayal and confusion on Caspian's side, which would impact their relationship too.

What do you think?

Oh dang xD Are you getting a higher level degree? I think I remember you telling me you were pursuing a science. I'm just finishing with my undergrad. I could go on to get a masters, but I don't really feel like it, and it the field I picked, graduate degrees don't help much.

I'm designing a hospital! It's the biggest floor plan I've ever worked with (23,000 SF), so it took forever to get all the rooms placed. Interior design reminds me of a big jigsaw puzzle sometimes. Each room has specific requirements and square footage needs, and I have to make it all fit together while adhering to building codes. My project partner and I just finished the floor plan today though, so that's done! We just have to draw up the blueprints for the ceiling/electrical plan and make a 3D model of the building ^^; I'm just hoping we can meet all the requirements in time!

Thanks! And yep. The current semester ends in about 4 weeks, and I only have one more before I graduate in May. I can't wait to be done, haha. I'm so sick of school.

Although the chaise lounge wasn’t as comfortable as his bed, Vail slept soundly in the hours between his conversation with Victoria and her awakening in the late afternoon. He had a few fleeting dreams throughout his slumber, but none were vivid enough to remember, so it felt like he hadn’t had any when he was roused by the sound of her cough. He sat up with a yawn, blinking blearily against the light that poured in through his bedroom windows. It was earlier than he normally woke, so he was slightly disoriented until he remembered what had happened the night before and who was in the room with him.

With the memory came the abrupt realization that the cough that had drawn him back to consciousness had come from Victoria. Suddenly feeling much more awake, he got up from the cushioned furniture to check on her, concerned about her condition. He didn’t even have to look at her face to know that she’d become ill. The malodor of sickness permeated the air around them. It was a smell that was both familiar and foreign to his kind, since they were immune to human ailments but sometimes used the scent to distinguish inadequate prey. Sick humans had a higher white blood cell count, which meant less iron and vital nutrients for the predators who fed on them. Even though they were easier targets because of their waning energy, vampires often ignored them in favor of healthier victims whose blood was more satisfying to drink.

Of course, none of that mattered now, since Vail had no intention of feeding on the woman in his bed. He reclined on the edge of the mattress, examining her pale face with a frown. As one who had never been unwell in all his long life, he couldn’t tell how serious her affliction was nor knew how he could help her feel better. He wasn’t sure if his father would know how to approach the situation either, since the Hygraces had always treated other vampires. As far as he knew, the subject of diseases was unknown to all of them.

Looking at her in this condition, with her feverish skin and inflamed wound, it struck Vail just how fragile humans really were. He had already understood their mortality to some degree, but this was the first time he had been invested enough in a human’s wellbeing to realize how easily their lives could be stolen away from them. Last night, he had been determined to get her medical attention because it was what he’d thought she needed to recover. Today, it looked like the work Peter had put in hadn’t done much to help her at all. He felt a flutter of worry in his stomach, unsure what the unexpected dip in her recuperation would mean. He was aware that he wouldn’t be able to hold onto her forever, since she would only live for a fraction of his natural lifetime, but he was afraid of having their time together cut even shorter.

A distressed expression painted his features as the Hygrace heir located her hand beneath the blankets. Her fingers felt clammy from the sickness. A mortal man might have kept his distance to avoid the contagion, but being what he was, he ran no risk of catching the disease that plagued her. “Victoria, is there anything I can do to help you?” he asked, brushing her hair away from her forehead with his free hand. He didn’t want to leave her alone while his cousins were stalking her like a pack of wolves, but if she was in danger, he was willing to get whatever she needed. “I can even fetch my father if you think he would be able to do more than I can.”

Okay! Good luck! I'm trying to get a good chunk of my final project done today, so hopefully I'll have time to unwind and write this weekend ^^
“Don’t be,” Cas shook his head when Iris apologized. “I’m sure you needed it. You’ve still got a lot of recovering to do, after all.” He tapped his own temple to signify her amnesia. Her condition was still a mystery to him, but he had to think that getting good sleep would help her heal from the memory loss. Resting seemed to help the body in every other way, so why not the mind? As enjoyable as she was to be around, she couldn’t stay at his family’s mansion forever. She wasn’t a wounded stray puppy he could just adopt. She was a grown woman with a life of her own and people who probably missed her. The sooner she could return to her home, the better.

When she mentioned that she had been reading, he frowned, equally disappointed that the book hadn’t been of any help to her. It was strange to him how some things triggered her memories instantly while others didn’t spark her recollection at all. There didn’t seem to be any rhyme or reason to it. The only way to get her through the fog was to just keep talking and showing her around in the hopes that they would accidentally stumble upon something that worked for her.

“That’s good to hear,” he commented in regard to her leg feeling better. “If you get sore while we’re out, please tell me though. I don’t want to make you feel worse.” He would have to make a mental note to pay attention to her condition while they wandered the capital. Being in good shape, he could stay on his feet for hours without wearing down, but he didn’t want to push her too hard while she was on crutches. He would have felt awful if she ended up back in the hospital with broken stitches at the end of the day.

“If you say so,” Cas shrugged when she declined his offer to tell the chefs to make her something specific. Feeling spontaneous, himself, he didn’t think much of the refusal. Instead, his attention was occupied by watching the cooks prepare his food: an arugula salad with prosciutto-wrapped figs and blue cheese. It was a dish he’d tried before but hadn’t eaten in a long time, so he looked forward to having it again. Since Iris hadn’t specified what she wanted to eat, it looked like the kitchen staff was gathering enough ingredients to make two servings.

When she spoke again, he turned back to her with a nod. “Yeah. If you still feel up to meeting them by the time we’re done in the city, I’ll invite them over to visit in the evening.” At her next words, he casted her a sympathetic look. He couldn’t know what she was going through, since he’d never had amnesia before, but he could tell that she was starting to feel weighed down by the lack of correspondence from her family. He couldn’t blame her for that. It had to be difficult to get through every day, wondering if anyone even cared she was gone.

“Don’t say that,” he reached out to rest a hand reassuringly on her shoulder. “You do belong here. I know it’s hard, but I’m sure we’ll hear from your family soon. It hasn’t even been a week yet. Just give them time.” He offered her a friendly smile. “And you don’t have to keep apologizing to me. I want to help you however I can. If that means listening when you need to vent, then that’s what I’ll do.”
Just one more semester after this one! So about 20 total weeks of classes, haha. I can't wait to get my degree and be done with it. Then my husband can stop teasing me about being a student (he graduated over a year ago) xD

I'll get a post up for you after I have lunch!
No problem! I've been trying to catch up on homework yesterday and today. Motivation is hard when there are only 4 weeks left ^^;

Vail merely nodded when Victoria thanked him for opening up. He didn’t like dwelling on what the Wynters had done to his family in the past, but there was no reason to keep her in the dark. Especially now that the rival clan was tearing her family apart just like they had done to his over a century ago. She deserved to know just how brutal the Wynters could be and what lengths they were willing to go to in order to get what they wanted. Perhaps she might even think of a way to spare the Crests the grief that had befallen the Hygraces. Humans were clever that way. He wouldn’t put it past her to think of a solution his kind had overlooked.

As she went on about her blood being used as the vampires’ weapon, he got up from his seat and ambled over to the chaise lounge to rest more comfortably. It was the closest he could get to sprawling on a bed, since he could at least lay down and put his feet up. As powerful as his kind was, they still needed to sleep just like any other living creature. He could tell he was starting to push his limits after staying awake into the early morning. It wouldn’t be much longer before he succumbed to his exhaustion.

“I don’t think physical strength is the answer,” he mused with a frown, tilting his head slightly as he thought about the dilemma. If they had only been up against Lord Spencer, getting stronger might have helped her, but she was facing the entire Wynter clan and the Order. What she needed was her wit. If she could think of a way to outfox them or even stay a step ahead, her family would have a fighting chance. The only problem was the timing of it all. If the other vampires really were coming to London in a month, she didn’t have long to prepare. He was unsure how much help he could offer too. Now that his father knew about the true nature of their relationship, he would never give his approval nor let him continue to involve himself in the other families’ affairs. His assistance might have been coming to an end whether he liked it or not.

“As long as you don’t make it ‘worth his while’ with your blood,” Vail objected when the Crest heiress spoke of his father. He didn’t know if Peter was interested in feeding on her, but tasting her blood had been the start of everything that had happened between them. It was what had coaxed him to return to her side until he had realized he was fond of more than just the sustenance she offered. Victoria was an alluring woman. He shuddered at the thought of his father discovering how special she was and deciding to claim her for himself.

“You said you would only be mine, and I’m still holding you to that,” he reminded her with another yawn, settling down on his side with his head propped on a decorative pillow. Being tall, his body was a bit too long to stretch out on the piece of furniture, and he had to tuck in his knees to fit. However, he was too tired to care about the inconvenience. With his back to the steadily brightening window, he wasn’t disturbed by the light either. He slipped one arm underneath the pillow and closed his eyes, starting to give in to the impulse to let go of consciousness.

“You should be safe enough here to rest,” Vail assured Victoria in a lowered voice. Even though his cousins had gone berserk at the first scent of her blood, his father had forbidden them from touching her. If any of them tried to disregard the order, he was a light enough sleeper that he would wake up and intervene on her behalf. “Sleep well, My Lady,” he murmured, fading as slumber claimed him. “Wake me if you need anything.”
