There's a panhandler who hangs out on the street corner by our dispensary every afternoon with a sign that just says "Green 4 Green?" and tbh, I respect my boy's confidence.

Posting Speed: Depending on my schedule, I can usually post at least once per week
Favorite Genres: Modern, Historical, Romance, Action/Adventure, Horror/Dark, Fantasy, Slice of Life, Dystopian, can be convinced to write some Sci-Fi
Hard 'no's: Fandoms. Sorry, but I can't maintain interest in characters/worlds I didn't build with my partner

Romantic Relationships: MxF or MxM (currently prefer MxM)
Character Images: Faceclaims or detailed descriptions only. I envision the characters like real people in my mind, so I can't take anime seriously

If Diana gets to the Hygrace manor before Vail leaves, I figure he'll ask her how Victoria is doing rather than run off to find her.
In ~Bonsoir~ 6 yrs ago Forum: 1x1 Roleplay
Katherine Hygrace’s petition on Vail’s behalf had been better received by Peter than the heir had expected. His father still forbade him from seeing Victoria again, but he had repealed his ultimatum. Peter had realized that Erasmus, Reginald’s oldest surviving son, was too easily manipulated to be charged with the protection of their entire family. If they were going to outlast the Wynters attempts to dethrone them as the ruling clan in England, they would need an unshakeable patriarch who wouldn’t bow down to their enemies after the very first threat. As much as the current leader loathed to admit it, his insubordinate son was the better choice between the two potential candidates.

So, Vail’s right to his inheritance remained intact. Peter continued to deny that the Wynters were moving though. He insisted that as long as they continued to keep their heads down, the rival clan would have no reason to attack them; and even if they rose up, the Order would put them back in their place, and there would be no need for the Hygraces to get involved. His insistence was baffling to Vail. He didn’t understand why his father was so averse to the thought of warring with a group that was clearly a threat to their dynasty. The patriarchs that had come before Peter had established their family as the strongest in England by putting their enemies in their place and garnering allies by offering protection from the Saints. His father seemed to be afraid that even stepping out of line would mean the end of their powerful clan altogether.

Vail disagreed with Peter’s approach. Neutrality had worked for them when the Wynters had been pitted against the Order, but now that their sights might soon be set on the Hygraces, they could no longer bury their heads in the sand and pretend like nothing had changed. If the rival vampires were going to strike, he intended to do whatever he could to ensure his family’s victory.

Over the course of the next few days, he spent evening suppers with his cousins and went hunting in the city every other night to replenish his strength. The effects of regular humans’ blood felt dulled after he had been spoiled by the richness of Victoria’s, but it still did its job. He also encouraged his relatives to feed at least once if they hadn’t done so recently, so the rest of the clan would be in peak condition whenever the Wynters made their move.

The first part of his plan went well, but the second turned out to be more troublesome than he had anticipated. It seemed that word had gotten around that the clan heir had been romantically involved with a human, so the other Hygraces no longer took him seriously when he tried to convey the impending risk that their rivals might try to kill them all again. They scorned and teased him for “playing with his food” and said that they would do nothing until Peter gave the word to prepare for a fight, since he was their leader. As hard as he tried to persuade them otherwise, it seemed that the rest of the Hygraces wouldn’t listen to anyone but his father, and his father was too stubborn to accept the possibility that his century-old method was no longer effective.

Frustrated by the dead end to his work, Vail gave up on rallying the clan and busied himself by rifling through the tome he had found in the archive. He had intended to put it away the night after Victoria had left, but his curiosity had gotten the better of him. He read through the genealogies with painstaking detail, finding some familiar names from stories he had been told orally by both Peter and Reginald. It fascinated him to learn about his ancestors, and the records provided a welcomed distraction from his failed endeavor to prepare his clan for battle. It also kept him from thinking too often about Victoria, whom he was beginning to worry about now that days had gone by without even a whisper from her.

Since she had told him she loved him, he knew she wouldn’t have stopped meeting with him unless something had prevented her from doing so. With each day that passed, he grew more tempted to seek her out to make sure nothing had gone wrong. This time, the temptation was too strong to resist.

Setting the book down on the table, he got up to put on his coat.
He just had to remind her though, didn't he? xD

Crow has at least one friend coming with him to Younis so far cx
Heading back to his own room, Crow yawned tiredly, his exhaustion finally catching up with him. He hadn’t done much all day aside from sit through his father’s council meeting, but being sedentary had been more draining than working on horseback riding with John for an entire afternoon. It also didn’t help that his thoughts were weighed down by the conversation he had yet to have with Albin. He looked forward to forgetting about asking the king for permission to court Penelope during the hours he would be asleep. Nothing would change before tomorrow no matter how much he dwelled on it, so there was no point in continuing to fret anyway. He just had one more thing left to do before he climbed into bed.

When he reached his bedchamber, the viceroy went through with his usual routine of exercising to stave off his nightmares. The trick had been working well since he’d started it, so he was careful to remember to wear himself out every day that he wasn’t able to go outside. His time, he used the tall, four-post bedframe to do pull-ups until his arms trembled too much to continue. Although it wasn’t his main purpose, he had also noticed that his new habits had helped him recover what musculature had atrophied during the time he had been bedridden in the battalion’s camp. He felt just as strong as he had been at his peak.

Satisfied that he had done enough to lessen the intensity of his nightmares if they appeared, he changed into his nightclothes and settled down beneath the warm sheets on his mattress, drifting off almost as soon as his head touched the pillow.

--

The next morning, Crow woke up slightly disoriented. His sleep hadn’t been as dreamless as he would have liked, but this time, the nightmare that plagued him had only been part of a series of dreams that flitted through his subconscious while he’d slumbered. He had also dreamt of his old companions in the outer villages, courting Penelope—though in his imagination, he had pictured them in Farhill—and his looming trip to Younis. With so many different images in his head, it took him a moment to remember where he actually was.

As always, Preston had arrived just before he’d risen. “Good morning,” the attendant greeted him, putting away the viceroy’s clean laundry in the wardrobe.

“Morning,” Crow yawned broadly and rolled his shoulders. The left side had an annoying knot, and he assumed he must have slept on it at an odd angle.

“Hunter told me about the meeting yesterday,” Preston went on without looking at him. “It sounds like we’ll be leaving for Younis soon.”

“We?” Crow repeated with a quizzical frown.

“Of course,” the boy nodded, turning away from the open furniture to meet his gaze. “I’m your personal attendant, so I’ll be coming with you even if you leave the kingdom.”

“Oh,” the viceroy said, realizing that he should have guessed that on his own. “Will your sister be all right while you’re away?”

“She’s been doing better,” Preston nodded again. “I told her this morning, and she said she’s excited for me. Neither of us have ever left Brerra before.”

“I’m sure you’ll have plenty of stories to tell her when we return,” Crow mused, thinking back to the first time he had visited Younis as he slid down from his bed.

“I hope so,” Preston agreed.

The former thief dressed himself, and they made their way to the Great Hall for breakfast. With the request to his father still looming in the back of his mind, Crow wanted to fill his stomach before he went to the king’s private chambers to find out if he would be willing to allow him to start courting Penelope for marriage.
Yeah, I have a friend who works at one, so she's going to help me work out some of the details on the building ^^ It'll be interesting!

Thanks! It was fun, and we ended up playing games for a couple hours afterwards. I finally got my post done though!
“I don’t know,” Cas frowned when Iris asked if his father would be joining them for dinner. “I hope not. Dr. Emett said he needs to be getting as much rest as he can, so he would be better off in his room.” Where he wouldn’t be able to question the amnesiac’s intentions. He knew the king had good reason to be paranoid, since there were many people in Aspiria who would have liked to overthrow their family’s reign, but it had been ridiculous of him to veritably interrogate a girl with no memories. Until Iris’s family claimed her or she had recovered enough to remember where she was from, he planned to keep her as far away from his father as he could.

Moving on from the serious thought, he was glad to see that she was enthusiastic about the prospect of getting ice cream. Truthfully, he was less interested in having a dessert right before dinner and more motivated by the chance to spend more time alone with her, since he had agreed to invite Jay and Miles over to the Maydestone manor in the evening. As soon as his friends showed up, he knew he wouldn’t have a second to talk to her without their interruptions. Perhaps it was selfish, since he didn’t know if she had a boyfriend nor even if she was attracted to him the same way he was to her; but even if it was, he couldn’t help but indulge himself a little. Besides, she seemed eager to spend more time with him too.

“Alright, just let me know if you start getting too tired or sore to keep going,” he grinned back at her. “Come on, it’s this way.” Taking the lead, he walked with her across the grass in the small park that occupied the center of the historic district. As he did, he saw a flash in the corner of his eye and turned to see a man with a camera pointed in their direction. It seemed like the paparazzi had finally figured out where he was and started flocking to snap photos of their crown prince and his outing with a mysterious woman. He rolled his eyes. It was a good thing it had taken them this long to catch up, or he and Iris might have had to cut the day trip short to escape the reporters’ incessant questions.

When they reached the stand, he smiled at the old woman who operated it. “Hey, Ellen. It’s been a while.” She had owned the cart since as far back as he could remember and had known him since he was still the little boy who used to drag his mom across the park for a scoop of ice cream.

“Caspian, it’s good to see you,” the creases at the corners of her eyes deepened as she smiled at him. Her words were friendly, but she still bowed her head to him, as was customary for every Aspirian citizen to do. “I assume you’re here for your usual?” she asked with a knowing glint in her old eyes.

“You know me too well,” Cas teased. “Yeah, I’ll get a cup of mint chocolate chip and whatever she’s having.” He leaned over to nudge Iris playfully with his shoulder. Since she didn’t have any money, he had planned to pay for her. And, if he was honest, the gesture made it feel just a little more like a date. He kept that detail to himself though.
Yeah, it's a lot of work. I think I'm going to design a domestic violence shelter for women ^^

Me too. But at least it wasn't one of our current cars! We still have the two that we mainly drive, which would have been so much worse to lose because we keep some stuff in them.

Also, I'm going out to dinner with my friends in a few minutes, but I should be able to catch up on my RPs after that!
That’s okay! I’ve been busy. School is starting up on Monday, so I’m trying to get the house cleaned before I go insane working on my senior capstone ^^; I’ll also be online as much as I can until Monday though!

We’re not entirely sure. It’s a mess
