There's a panhandler who hangs out on the street corner by our dispensary every afternoon with a sign that just says "Green 4 Green?" and tbh, I respect my boy's confidence.

Favorite Genres: Modern, Historical, Romance, Action/Adventure, Horror/Dark, Fantasy, Slice of Life, Dystopian, can be convinced to write some Sci-Fi

Character Images: Faceclaims or detailed descriptions only. I envision the characters like real people in my mind, so I can't take anime seriously

It's really good! I don't like most of the other Netflix originals that I've seen, but I love Stranger Things.

Yep! If we decide to go that route, Iris and Ethan would have three days to come up with a plan and get out ^^ Poor Cas has no idea the repercussions he would bring on himself, since he genuinely believes she hasn't gotten any significant memories back.
I may have gotten the idea from Stranger Things xD
It just seems like something a controlling government would have, haha.

And yep, he’s relentless. Cas would try to step in if Iris gets flustered or anything though. Although his solution wouldn’t help her. He would suggest that they arrange an appointment for her to have a brain scan so Atlas can see proof that she’s still suffering from her condition (it would take a few days to get her to the doctor)

“It’s a difference of priorities,” Vail exhaled as Victoria took his earlobe between her teeth. With his bloodlust satisfied, there was nothing left to distract him from the beautiful woman sitting on his lap. Her teasing smile and playful nibble caused a different kind of lust to surface, and he sensuously followed the curves of her hips and waist with his hands. “My kind lives far longer than yours, so our instinct to preserve life is stronger than our desire to procreate,” he explained thoughtfully, reflecting on the lessons he had been taught by Reginald and Peter. “Assuming I’m not killed, I’ll be here for centuries while humans rarely see more than eight decades. Because of that, I don’t have the same urgency to have children as mortal men do, and my drive to keep myself alive by drinking blood is far higher. It has nothing to do with how I feel about you.”

It was also why violence between vampire clans was so devastating. The reign of the Hygraces had helped their population stabilize, because they had acted as protectors of their kind whenever the Order struck, but if they dissolved into squabbling amongst each other, the Saints wouldn’t even need to lift a finger against them. They would destroy themselves.

Idly, he wondered if their lower libido was also related to the fact that they could add to their numbers by turning humans with a bite. Since the ritual was no longer widely used, his family had never listed it as a method of procreation, but it seemed logical to him that they wouldn’t have as much of a need to bear natural children if there was a more convenient way to go about procreation. The only reason they didn’t do it that way anymore seemed to be because of their evolving view of humanity. If looking at mortals as more than just prey was discouraged, he could only image that adopting one into a pureblooded family line would be considered abominable.

When Victoria leaned her head on his shoulder, Vail rested his cheek against her hair. “If you don’t believe me: Before you came along and seduced me at The Shire,” he squeezed her in a hug as he teased her in return, “I hadn’t been with a woman since the 1700’s.” Not to say that the thought had never crossed his mind. There had been a few vampires who had caught his eye over the past two centuries, but after the novelty of intimacy had worn off, he was no longer interested in meaningless flings. He had been content with his solitary life, and it hadn’t been until Lady Crest had streaked her lips with blood that his dormant carnal appetite had been rekindled.

At her request for her reward, the Hygrace heir smiled and turned his head to murmur in a low tone in her ear, “I think you do.” Reaching up to her chin, he coaxed her to turn toward his face with a touch of his finger and kissed her deeply as he held her close to himself. His hands wandered over her attractive body, tracing her soft skin beneath the water, but before he could push to escalate things, he paused as his father’s words came back to him. He still wanted to have her, but he didn’t feel right about doing so when only one of them was aware of the possible consequences.

Pulling back from her lips, he cleared his throat and met her gaze. “Before we do this, you should know something,” he said slowly. “I found out recently that it’s possible for vampires and humans to conceive across species. I don’t know much about it, but I want to make sure you’re comfortable with the possibility that we could… that you might become pregnant if we keep sleeping together.”
Finally got my post up! Hope it was worth the wait, haha ^^
As soon as the first question left Atlas’s lips, Cas winced. He tried to pay attention to the beginning of the interrogation going on through his com device, even bringing his hand up to cup his ear in order to make the transmission more prominent. However, he couldn’t bring himself to ignore the situation in front of him. After he and Iris had admitted their feelings for each other the night before, he felt like it was partly his responsibility to make sure that his father didn’t send her to a cell when she hadn’t done anything wrong. Because of that, he had inadvertently put himself in a position where it was hard to follow either of the conversations.

The prince glanced at the amnesiac when she responded to the king’s inquiry. Of course she couldn’t give him a proper answer. She didn’t even know her own last name. He wished his stubborn father would just accept that they wouldn’t learn anything more about her until her memories came back, but it seemed like the monarch was determined to bleed any information out of her that he could, whether his prodding would yield fruit or not. He pitied Iris for being on the receiving end of Atlas’s bullheadedness.

The subjects are still refusing to give names, a soldier’s voice announced, distracting Cas again. Shall we proceed with the Aproveset injections?

The use of Aproveset is authorized, a second voice replied.

Cas felt his stomach twist at the mention of the drug. It had been discreetly developed by the Aspirian military as a tool for interrogation, causing pain and delirium to prisoners who had the misfortune of being exposed to it. Five minutes after an injection to the neck, they wouldn’t be able to keep their secrets any longer, and the soldiers would find out everything they wanted to know. The method was equally effective as it was cruel.

“I would like to believe that,” Atlas sighed, catching the prince’s attention yet again. The king clasped his hands behind his back as he stood before Iris. “However, there’s something that has been bothering me.”

The prisoners have received the injections. Questioning will resume when the Aproveset takes effect.

“It seems strange that after about a week of my son investing his time into helping you regain your memories, you still can’t recall anything that would tell us who you are.”

Captain, there’s something wrong with the prisoners.

“I find it… convenient that you don’t remember your district, your relatives, or even your last name. In fact, you don’t even have an ID in spite of my decree that all high born citizens are to carry identification on their person at all times.”

Damn it! The bastards had capsules in their mouths that they broke with their teeth. It looks like cyanide powder.

“I must be honest with you, Iris. It’s difficult for me to believe you’re from this city at all,” Atlas sighed. “If you truly were a citizen of the capital, then you should be able to tell me something about it, shouldn’t you?”

The prisoners are being escorted to the emergency facility now to receive an antidote. Their conditions are unstable, and it is unclear if they’ll survive. We will provide an update after the physician treats them.

There was a victorious glint in the king’s cold eyes as he gazed down at his suspect. “Go ahead, girl. Name just one detail about this city that you didn’t learn from Caspian. Prove to me that I shouldn’t turn you in to the soldiers right now.”

At Victoria’s whimper, Vail ran his hand down and up her back, gently stroking her shoulders to remind her that he was there. He had sunk his fangs into her skin and taken some of her blood, but he was still the same man who had expressed his love for her, and he wouldn’t hurt her more than he had to in order to tap into the veins in her neck. Before she even gave an explanation, he guessed that her reaction had more to do with the way Spencer had treated her than it did with anything he was doing now. It saddened him to see her reduced to such a pitiable state when his bite had never impacted her like this in the past.

While she struggled to regain her composure, he carried on with drinking the rest of the blood that poured from her punctured flesh, though he paid closer attention to her pulse and respiration to make sure she didn’t lose consciousness. The flow was still steady, so if he didn’t collect it, the viscous liquid would just drip into the bathwater. He disliked the thought of wasting any of it. With each sweep of his tongue, he could feel the strength coursing through his body that only her blood could provide. He had missed the rejuvenation that came with feeding from her, and he continued to do so until the stream began to dry up.

The sound of her voice beckoned his attention, and he pulled back from her neck to lick the dark stains from the edges of his mouth. He had drunk enough to feel satisfied, so he lifted his other hand to clean his jaw off with water. “You have nothing to be sorry for,” he assured her, watching the water tinge pink where her blood mixed with it. “I didn’t know you had a phobia.” He wouldn’t have even considered it, since she had volunteered her neck to him the first time he had fed on her. It surprised him that a woman with a fear of blood would do such a thing, let alone continue to humor him every few days when he came by to pierce her again. She was either foolhardy or brave—or perhaps a little of both.

Fortunately, he had washed away all the remnants of the feed from his face by the time Victoria sought his eyes. Holding her gaze, he pondered her question. “Well, yes,” he admitted honestly. “We don’t drink from each other, since there’s nothing to be gained from it, and I am especially fond of your blood.” Leaning forward, he pressed a kiss to her lips and then pulled back again with a smile. “But I love you, Victoria. Not what I can get out of you. If you could become a vampire, I wouldn’t hesitate to give up making you my prey, because I would get to keep you for a lifetime, and that’s far better.” He rested his hands on her waist below the water and kissed her again to punctuate the statement.

“There’s no reason to concern yourself with that though,” Vail reminded her with a sigh. “It isn’t worth trying when you might lose your life if in the process.”
Definitely ^^; I expect that I'm going to be doing homework about 30+ hours a week from now until I graduate.

Thanks! Depending on how well I manage my time, I might be able to do more, but I'd rather set the expectation at 1-2 per week, just in case.
It was good, but our professor just assigned four more projects that are all due at different times throughout the month ^^;
Depending on how much time and energy it takes to work on them, I might reduce my posting speed on here to once or twice a week
As the door opened, Cas leaned sideways to peer around his father’s back. At any other time, he would have been happy to see Iris, but right now, he was just hoping she would be able to handle being questioned by Atlas. He wasn’t sure what the king might decide was “suspicious” enough to warrant extreme measures. There was also no way for him to warn her about the deal they had made without his father overhearing, so he just had to cross his fingers that she wouldn’t do or say anything to set the monarch off.

Following Atlas into the room, the prince noticed with some concern that Iris looked like she was ailing. Her fair skin looked paler than usual, and it seemed like she hadn’t gotten much sleep during the night. While the sight made him feel relieved that he had managed to dissuade the king from sending her straight to the interrogators, he worried that if she had gotten sick, she wouldn’t have the mental agility to keep the monarch from deciding she was guilty of conspiring with the rebellion. The thought made him swallow hard, and he lightly bit his tongue to keep himself from alerting her to the potential danger she was in.

Relax, relax, he chided himself silently. Her innocence will prove itself. There’s no reason to freak out. He exhaled slowly, side-stepping around the inside of the doorframe to stand against the wall while his father strode further toward the center of the room. There was nothing he could do during the questioning aside from simply being present, so he kept his distance and tried to focus on the voices transmitting through his earpiece. The interrogation of the prisoners was due to start in two minutes.

“You look tired,” Atlas, who was even keener than his son, observed as he turned back to the amnesiac. He gestured to the sofa. “Sit. This shouldn’t take long.” There was a confidence to his voice that made Caspian frown. Despite all his assertions that Iris wasn’t involved in the Scourge, it seemed like his father was still convinced that she was to blame for the attack on their home. He hoped the king wouldn’t let his personal bias influence his decision when he chose to either let her remain in the mansion or send her away for further questioning.

He leaned back against the wall and folded his arms loosely over his chest, distracting himself from his nervousness by listening to the soldiers who were present at the interrogation. They were reviewing the information they had already squeezed out of the terrorists—none of which was useful so far—and ranking the importance of information they still hoped to procure throughout the process. The conversation was uninteresting to him, but it was better than paying attention to his father, who had just begun his own private investigation.

“Tell me, Iris,” Atlas’s tone was both smooth as velvet and sharp as a sword. “From which district in the capital were you born?”
I've got class in about half an hour, so I'll get another post up later today ^^
