Someone almost got one going a while back on another site I used to RP on, but they bailed out at the last minute and it left me feeling blueballed ever since. For those not in the know, Worm is a web serial novel written by Wildbow that's centered around Taylor Hebert, a teenager with a superpower that lets her control bugs. The story follows Taylor as she quickly gets swept up in the chaos and complexities of the 'cape' community of Brockton Bay by joining with a group of villains known as The Undersiders. Cape politics, factions, rivalries, information warfare, and the individual problems of the people beneath the costumes put even the heroes in something of a gray area. Taylor's actions in the midst of this leave her in a situation where she's forced to make some hard choices, facing the reality of having to do the wrong things for the right reasons. For those who haven't read it, I'd highly recommend it, it's great. For those who haven't read it but are interested in this RP, I'd suggest you read up until at least the tenth or twelfth arc of the story, as Extermination (the eighth arc) is where the story really begins to pick up. That, and there will be potential spoilers either in the chat or as the RP unfolds, so be prepared for that. As for everyone else who's read the story and is interested in an RP, the rest is for you. The important thing I wanna get out of the way is that I'm not necessarily interested in being the GM of this RP. Personally, I'd like to avoid it if I can, but I'll certainly do it if I have to. I'm not a big fan of GMing so much as I am of playing, and I feel like any attempt on my part to live up to the kind of plots Wildbow writes would honestly be beyond me. Secondly, the RP will be making use of certain aspects of the Weaver Dice rulebook. This is just something I'm carrying over from the other RP I mentioned, as it seemed to work out pretty well and its integration into the RP was minimally invasive. Thirdly, given the source material, I'm expecting this RP to be somewhere between Casual and Advanced. I don't think there should be any real "minimum required posting", but at the same time I expect a fair amount of depth in terms of plot and character development, as well as regular posting. Fourth, while the format is ultimately up to whoever decides to take the reins and GM this beast, some ideas I had for a premise to the RP that any potential GMs are free to use are that we either form a new supervillain team and attempt to follow in the steps of the Undersiders, or that we instead take the Weaver route and focus on a Wards group post-Scion that's focusing more on integrating teenage supervillains like Taylor. I personally think either of these would be fun (although I prefer the latter), but as I said, the format is up to whoever ultimately decides to GM. Fifth and finally... no, that's pretty much it I think. So is anyone interested?
Praise from his superiors was not something Hisoka was completely used to yet. He'd had it from his teachers at the academy, but to hear it from a Special Investigator was a whole different level. A feeling which he could only describe as 'funny' stirred in his chest, the urge to give a wide being forcefully pushed down for impressions sake. Instead, he just bowed his head in thanks. Another idea came to mind. "Understood, Matsuoka-san. Um... before we head into town, I have a request - could I buy some difluoroethane and dry ice while we're out? I have an idea in mind for dealing with Knight. It is pretty silly sounding, but I think it will work." He rubbed the back of his head, realising that the two things were an odd combination to ask for, to say the least - but given they had information on how Knight fought it's battles, he saw no reason to not prepare for facing it. Who was he kidding, he was partnered with 'Cannibal Corpse' Matsuoka. She could wipe the floor with most A Rating Ghouls. It was a dumb idea, thinking too hard on a single case when there were lord knows how many others to work on after this one was complete. "...Actually, never mind. It's just silly. Let's go."
CCG Headquarters Yuuka shrugged. "I'd be down with silly. It's prooobably not setting a good example for my junior saying this, but when you've been at this job for over fifteen years you kinda need something new to break up the monotony every once and a while. Even killing Ghouls can get boring if they're too weak to be a challenge, so sometimes I like to mess around a little on the job just to keep things interesting. Seeing how long I can go unnoticed by them, putting on disguises and infiltrating their ranks, fighting with one arm or leg tied behind my back, seeing how many Ghouls I can kill with improv weapons..." Yuuka paused momentarily to consider the ramifications of what she'd just said. "It's definitely not something a junior should do though! You could get hurt if you don't know what you're doing!" Having dispensed her motherly advice, Yuuka cleaned up her mess like any responsible adult should, and then turned to Hisoka and said, "Tell you what, we'll discuss it on the car ride down. Tell me what you're thinking and I'll see if it'll make for a good first hunt. This is your first real hunt, right Hisoka-kun?"
CCG Headquarters Yuuka smiled. This kid was sharp. Things she never would've thought of at his age he grasped in an instant and he could even follow the thought processes of a Special Investigator. "You've got a bright future ahead of you at the CCG, Hisoka-kun. Now, where to start... How about the downtown area? Not near the parks, but in the heart of the downtown where the 8th ward borders the others. That would be the most likely place to find a motorcycle shop in the Eighth ward, and if we're careful we might be able to spot a Ghoul smuggling ring bring in stuff like horses and blacksmiths from other wards. If we searched all the residential areas he'd catch onto us before we did him, so we need to work from the outside and work our way in. Sound good?"
Yes! Thanks ArtofFun! Also, I think we may need to seriously reevaluate what Ghouls and Investigators are capable of in terms of combat before this RP edges into any real fighting. I know a lot of people here haven't read the manga, so I'll try to keep it as spoiler free as possible. Everyone knows Ghouls can dodge bullets and Ukaku types in particular like Ayato are more than likely capable of moving at supersonic speeds in short bursts. However, late in the first manga (chapter 113 for anyone who's interested), Arima fights an SS rank Ghoul during a flashback using an Ukaku quinque. Not only does Arima's quinque actually shoot goddamn lightning, but the Ghoul he's fighting dodges it from close range by literally backflipping out of the way of the lightning bolts. In other words, holy fuck that is fast. I literally just read this chapter and I was like "welp". It just goes to show that Ghouls and the CCG's top-ranking Investigators are nothing to fuck with.

Yuuka's barely gotten to do anything because AoF hasn't posted :(
Sorry :(
...
Speaking of Spinzaya, anyone watching the new season of DRRR!! ? The last couple episodes look like the animation budget has imploded (although episode 8 was much better than 7 was) :(
