You're an interesting species. An interesting mix. You're capable of such beautiful dreams, and such horrible nightmares. You feel so lost, so cut off, so alone, only you're not. See, in all our searching, the only thing we've found that makes the emptiness bearable, is each other.
Thanks!

Kalim kept his playful smile on as he pushed open the doors and led the way into the very dark office. The windows were covered in blinds and a large, glow crystal cast a moonlight over the room. It was covered in dark woods and stone based artworks. A large desk carved from what appeared to be a single black crystal sat in the center of the room. And behind it, a small, drow woman, sitting in a high backed chair. Kalim walked forward and sat in the central of three chairs before the desk, indicating the other two, though quite oversized, were for the fairies.

Once they'd taken their seat, "Good evening ma'am. How's my favorite Warden Knight?" Warden Knights were the second highest achievable rank in the Ebon Knights, only below the five Lord Knights. It was an incredibly prestigious position, only granted to the most capable in both combat, tactics, and politics. There wasn't a single one among them that wasn't ruthless and dangerous, in all settings. The Warden smiled, her crimson eyes gazing fiercely over the fairies, her white hair swishing lightly. She nodded at the Lii, "Is this her?"

"Yes Ma'am."

"Outside of their village, who knows for sure what she can do and who she is?"

"Master Longarm, myself, and you."

It would be quite evident that Kalim's normal playful attitude and mystery was not applied to his superior. The woman now looked quite pleased, "Excellent. Let's make sure it remains that way." The weight of those words clearly indicated a not-so-veiled threat. She now looked at Lii as a spider would a fly caught in its web. "Do you speak for your village?" The woman would allow just enough time for a simple answer before continuing. "I am Warden Knight Drisceya. You are a rare and valuable person, Lyriia, and you need to be protected, by the might of the mighty Ebonfort and her laws. As such, we need to bring your village into the fold. If not, anything could happen to it. We'd hate for that to happen, wouldn't we?"

The woman now stood, creeping toward the female fairy, "This hasn't been done for some years, most recently with Stone Crest fifty years back. Some may not know the... protocols for such. And I see Kalim has ensured the first steps. You're now the civilian representative for your little village. What is it you call this place?" She paused, waiting for the response, "As such, you will bring forth any issues, of any sort, directly to the Captain Knight assigned to your village." She glanced at Kalim, smiling venomously, as she reached down and gently brushed a single finger tip across Lii's hair, "Kalim certainly deserves a promotion. After all, he's discovered this little village of yours, and found the first known mage in centuries. Consider it done, Kalim."

She began walking from behind Lii's chair, over toward her brother's, "Which brings us to the third requirement, now that a civilian representative and Captain Knight have been assigned. We require a certain percentage of the youth of a new village to enlist as squires. Since your population is so small, Kalim clearly only needed to bring along a single recruit. And all Captain Knights deserve squires. Congratulations Lyellan. Your training begins the moment you leave this office."

She continued her femme fatale stride back to her chair, "I know how much you detest paperwork Kalim, so Serah will take care of all that. However, civilian representatives cannot be so... unimportant. Perhaps it is time to restore Lii to her previous position. Would Master Strongarm be willing to take his apprentice back?" Kalim nodded, the self satisfying grin barely contained by his face, "He's already awaiting her arrival, and has been made aware of the plans."

"Excellent. All that leaves is the agreement from our two fairies here to make this official. Accept and enjoy the protection of our little empire. Decline and... well, that wouldn't be recommended."

Drisceya looked at the two fairies, awaiting their response, and the next step in her plans to come to fruition. Yes, this was definitely the advantage, the opportunity she'd been waiting for, and she was not going to let it pass her by.
So far I have a few signups for the quest and I'll keep a running list going.

Now, of those listed, do yall want to be in a moderated story, or do stories amongst yourselves or a bit of both?

Aaryn and Megumi have already been promised to be moderated (would you two like to be in the same story or separate?)

Lii, Gregory, and any others not yet mentioned can also join my character Trix, if they'd so like.

The Mauven Quest has arrived. There are many different ways to participate in this quest. If you wish to join, contact me. If you have a preference for how your character participates, such as hangs back for shit to go down at the tournament, is a tournament participant, decides to go to Scream Watch, whatever, include that.
Mauven Quest

Starting Date and Time: 25th Day of Mauven, 300 DM, All day

Starting Location: South of Green Fall

The Knights Tournament was in full swing today. The last several days had been spent setting up various bleachers, arenas, and stalls over a large area at the intersection south of Green Fall, east of Scream Watch, and north east of Ruby Banks. The area was a fairly flat grassy plains, and the sun was shining high. The central most arena was the largest, and was dedicated to the Grand Melee. On the north side of this was the long horse racing track, and due south was the archery range. There were small arenas for various strength, speed and skill contests.

Every citizen knew of the tournament. It was established by the Knights, run mostly by the squires, and was for recruiting potential Knights. Only regular citizens could participate, and the Knights and squires could not. The system was simple, the first half of the day was dedicated to every event except the Grand Melee. If you earned a top five spot in any single event, you earned a spot in the Grand Melee. The Grand Melee always took place in the second half of the day, and put all the competitors in the ring with heavy wooden weapons of their choice and ordered to fight.

It didn't necessarily matter if you won or lost. Many high ranking Knights observed the combat, and it was up to them if a person passed or not. You could defeat every other combatant and not earn a Knightship if none of the Knights deemed you worthy. Because of this, everyone fought their hardest, and many different strategies emerged. Some favored teamwork, others preferred to go it alone.

Vendors used this time to hawk their goods, gamblers placed bets, and money exchanged hands through many different means, most legal, some not. During the first half of the day, many of the knights were called away, for apparently Scream Watch was under attack by a particularly large raiding party of Screamers. This wasn't terribly uncommon, but because the Knights were called away in their large column of metal and horses, the squires were left behind to operate and defend the Tournament. And this is when all hell broke loose.

Trix's eyes shot open, her light slumber interrupted by the sound of raised and hurried voices. Grumbling lightly, she swished her blanket from her form, shivering at the early morning cold, her hearth fire merely glowing coals. Slipping from the bed, her bare feet alighting the rough hewn floorboards. She quickly slipped into her skirt and blouse, both of which had been tossed atop her chest at the foot of her bed. Moving slowly over to the window, rubbing the sleepiness from her eyes. Peering out, the scene illuminated by the setting moon and rising sun, eyes growing wide at the sight of an Ebon Knight woman, seemingly unconscious in the arms of another, as well as few others milling around. It was obvious why there was so much commotion. Her services were required yet again.

Sighing, knowing she was going to be that much more exhausted tomorrow for this, Trix moved into her apothecary, immediately relaxed by the fragrance of the room, even more so with the moonlit greenery. She quickly cleared the center table of the many plants and tools that were scattered across its surface. Once that was done, she moved quickly through her shop and opened her door, finding herself face to face with Edoward and the woman he carried. "Put her on the table in the back."

He smiled sheepishly at her, but she ignored it, for she didn't have time for his flirtations, not today, not now. Stepping out into the moonlight, she immediately saw the lieutenant's sash on the Drow and approached him. Taking a commanding tone, her eyes falling on the gargoyle with the covered wound, "What happened?"

The Drow just shrugged, "Seems to have been a Screamer attack, this big guy brought her to us like that," jabbing a thumb in Gregory's direction. Looking at the gargoyle now, "You're injured too, but too big to fit easily in my shop. Follow me." The tone she used was one that left no room for argument. Turning back toward her shop, the Lieutenant started to speak, "I still need to ques--" causing Trix to look back venomously, "He's my patient now, you can question him when I'm done. Feel free to wait out here."

The drow stood there, jaw slightly open, dumbfounded, but unwilling to argue with her. After all, she patched up many of his men, himself included. Trix moved around the side of her shop, moving through a simple wooden gate in her stone wall, moving between the many plants scattered everywhere. Moving around the back of the building she moved through her back door, speaking over her shoulder, "Sit there and tell me what happened, in regards to the injuries. I'll tend to her, then you."

Trix lit a single lamp and hung it high in the corner, letting its glow cast over the unconscious woman. There was a large bruise forming on the side of her face, two shallow cuts in her shoulders, through the chainmail, at almost the exact same spot. Looking up at Edoward, "Get her out of that armor." He looked momentarily embarrassed, but a glare from Trix squashed that, as he scrambled with the varying straps and such.

While waiting on him, Trix moved about her supplies, from the shop, to the apothecary, and once stepping out into her garden. She gathered dried leaves from the watercress, summer savory, and horsetail, and fresh petals from her evening primrose. She dropped the dried leaves into a large mortar and began grinding them with her pestle, eyes moving from the unconscious woman to the door where the gargoyle should be.
@CallMeChaotix - I most certainly can, give me just a bit to tie up some loose ends. I'm about to launch a regional quest, and can rope you (and others, separately) into it
