You're an interesting species. An interesting mix. You're capable of such beautiful dreams, and such horrible nightmares. You feel so lost, so cut off, so alone, only you're not. See, in all our searching, the only thing we've found that makes the emptiness bearable, is each other.
Thanks!

Graakt was now looking down at two winged people, one he'd bowled over, the other had nearly met the same fate. He didn't seem to recognize either of them, so he immediately assumed that they weren't locals, even if one knew him by name. If they weren't locals, and they weren't Knights, then that meant only one thing. Traders. Only merchants visited. Family and friends stayed away, no one came for vacation, so those looking for coin was the only answer.

Though why one knew him by name was beyond him.

He saw some knights eyeballing their little grouping suspiciously. "Perhaps we should move somewhere a bit more... private. My shop is close." He nodded in the direction of the docks, and started that way, shooting a casual glance at the Knights. Yes, they were definitely interested in them. "Don't run, we'll be fine."

Graakt was taking the lead, moving down the dirt road, hoping his companions would take the hint. The trio of knights were pushing through the crowd, eyes locked on the group. Once Graakt reached the dock road, he turned westward. If his companions joined him, he would pull them into the first door, which was a small smithy. He looked up at the proprietor, a large human man named Treton, "Tret, we have footsteps, mind if we stock some shelves?" This was all local lingo for being followed by knights, and hanging out until they are gone. The smithy nodded, smiling, and gestured to the back of the office. Graakt went in and sat on a crate labeled horseshoes, looking at eyelevel at his companions, before settling on the man, "So how do you know my name, and what brings you here?"
Kraven nodded, cursing himself for not realizing this. His magic was the newest in the group's after all, wasn't quite as natural to him yet. He pushed out the raw magic into a blob around his hands, then punched them into rushing wall, really hoping it didn't rip his arms from his sockets. The blob pushed through with ease, and he pumped more of out of him. It spread like a plague through the wall of water, turning water into a brilliant blue powder that snowed down on the ground, letting him pass through.

The way to Laurel was lit by the many braziers that Drache had brought to life. Kraven knew if he could get to her, he could protect the alufiend for a while. He could see her stirring and moaning in pain, trying to get herself up. Arms pumping, fists gripped on his long knives, as he ran toward her, water kicked up by his boots.

The scream that Drache and Laurel heard abated, and she could feel a heat of fire that she'd not lit from the pit. It felt a bit stronger, not quite in danger of going out previously. But the fire was still scared, and that was when she could feel the difference. It wasn't one fire, but two, very similar ones, very close to each other. And only word popped into her mind. Siblings.

Kraven reached Laurel moments before the creature, and tried to tackle it. He flew right through the creature, just getting wet and looking foolish for his effort. It continued moving toward Laurel, when he remembered what he'd just done moments before. He pushed out his magic, and moved it into his knives. Something about this told him it would work. He rushed at the creature, and slashed at its raised arm, that looked as if it were about to strike down at Laurel. The slash passed through the watery arm and severed it. The water in the arm lost its form and fell to the ground.

The creature screamed and turned toward Kraven, who could now make out a dark watery sphere in the center of the creature's chest. A flurry of attacks ended with a stab in the sphere. The creature stopped moving and just dissipated into a puddle. Kraven was quick to help up Laurel, checking her over briefly, finding no serious injuries. Several more of the elementals stepped out of the waters, moving toward Kraven and Laurel. If Drache looked close, she'd see the waters surging, like a singular river getting ready to rage. But was there time to join the fight against the unknown, or would the fires go out?
After seeing the woman's reactions to her touch, and having felt around the injury a good bit, she was fairly certain it wasn't broken. The bone was probably bruised though, and while it would heal fine, would hurt for a long while. Listening to the woman's words, her hands working to get the bandages ready, "No one is taking you anywhere, you're a patient of mine now. And we've done nothing wrong."

She gingerly extended the woman's injured leg, tucking the start of the bandage beneath it. She then started wrapping it firmly, from below the joint, making sure to keep it level as she incrementally worked her way up the leg. Once the bandage was above the knee, she checked the tightness by just barely slipping two fingers beneath it. She then stuffed the wrap in itself. Satisfied with it, "You're going to need to take it easy. It needs to rest and a cool for a while, and once the swelling goes down, put some heat on it, a warm, wet towel."

Trix looked around for the stick she'd used earlier, and grabbing it, she brought it over to Strawberry, offering it up. "Here, let me help you up. I'm sure the Knights will want to question us."

The other woman was squinting, "I don't recognize that company..."

The company was small, much smaller than the standard size of one-hundred, twenty-five knights. It was led by a very pale man wearing a captain's sash, atop a black horse. He hopped down, the unranked knight with the pair of women saluting. The man raised an arm and lowered it, telling her to be at ease. He walked over to Strawberry and Sunny, his crimson eyes shining, before his face twisted into a pleasant smile, "It is nice to see survivors. I am Captain Theren, of the Coldsteel Company, Ruby Regiment, Citadel Batallion." He bowed his head slightly, before turning back to the other woman."Report."

A squire was already at the man's side, a young girl, ready to write down what was said. The woman began, "We were traveling to Azure Strand, our next post. Several of our forward scouts were a bit slow to check in, and as our riders went out to seek them, we were attacked by the men you see laying here in the grey leathers. We had superior numbers, but they somehow kept healing instantly. It eventually ended in a near stalemate, with me injured. The blonde woman here, fixed me up, brought me back to consciousness, when one of the attackers attempted to lure her, a ruse in order to kill her. The redhead woman seemed to be a traveler coming from Azure Strand saw the ruse and after a brief battle, the two women managed to kill the man. I witness him getting shot with an arrow, glow, only to appear to be perfectly fine. He stopped when an arrow pierced his skull, killing him. The tattoo of a flower that was on his arm then... floated off his arm... attached to something, then flew westward. We've been recovering until you showed up."

Captain Theren nodded, turning to the other women, "This must've been quite distressing for you two. Having to fight for your lives and seeing what I strongly suspect is magic. Do you believe that is what you saw? Magic?"

Trix swallowed hard, nodding. She wondered if this was the man that spawned the rumors of magic users disappearing. "We've noticed something interesting. People who have seen such incidents of magic, tend to have them happen more and more around them. Is this the first time you've seen magic?"

Trix decided to lie, but with a truth, hoping she could maintain composure. She shook her head, meekly speaking, "No, I was at the Knights' tournament." She hoped her nervousness was simply judged as having been shaken up. "And you?" He asked, now looking at Strawberry.
Take this time to post as much amongst yourselves (or start side rps) as you'd like. When you're ready to continue, have your people readying themselves for the next day's journey (which will come with a nice flash forward as we enter Stage III, the final stage of this quest).

Just to clarify the rewards at this point...

Rilana - Blessing of Shadaraliax and Diary of Leandra Sealta, Vol. 4
Alya - Blessing of Shadaraliax and the Note of Ice
Chartrose - Blessing of Shadaraliax and Tricia healed

You can pick where on your character the Blessing appears, but once there, it is permanent until it is activated. Activating is just a mental action, as innate and easy as thinking for your character. The various little bonuses and stuff will reveal themselves over time, but the obvious ones so far are 1) Cold Immunity 2) Can walk over snow without leaving tracks (unless so desired).

As always, I'm available for questions at all times.
Much like the last time Rilana touched the Null Shard blade, she felt her mind flooded with images she'd never seen, sounds she'd never heard. She was looking out through a crystalline view. It would take a few long moments before she recognized the cavern she was looking into. She was seeing through Juloya's eyes, and somehow, she knew it was not a memory, but the current view the woman had.

Then there was a voice, "Why hello there Rilana. It is nice to finally be able to speak with you, directly. I don't know how long we have, for He is so very strong." Rilana could feel the burning pain within the woman, the flinching as she contained the massive power of the man. Rilana could feel that power, it was even stronger than when he'd first appeared three hundred years ago. It was so strong that it seemed endless, a bottomless ocean to the druid. With his power, nothing was impossible. "You need to hurry, my own power is fading fast. There is nothing more important than me being killed. You just need to make sure you do.." She was cut off with another fit of blinding pain, before the connection was severed, leaving Rilana to only feel the burning that Juloya had felt. Any attempt to touch the sword again would just find it cold to the touch, but not triggering anymore connections.

Ortha's movements had ripped away even more of the ceiling exposing a rather noticeable hole between the levels. The muttering witch looked up at the songweaver with pure fury in her eyes, shouting at the mute through the same mind speak she'd used. It was loud enough that Rilana could hear it several floors below, "Little girl! You dare speak to me this way? You should be begging for what is left of your pitiful life. Any moment now, the last of your magic will be gone and you'll die."

She turned away from the girl in a huff, not paying attention to her footing. She stepped right into the hole that Ortha had accidentally made, fell at an awkward angle, and a loud snap was heard. The woman screamed in pain, and Alya could see that her leg had snapped above the ankle. The spell that was sucking the magic from her had ceased now that the concentration was broken. The woman gingerly pulled her leg out of the hole, muttering again, "I can use shields to reset and forcibly hold it in place... but that could use too much magic... I need another mage... to find one more... just need more power..."

Chartrose would be the first to see the change in events. The very first was rather obvious, the surrounding blizzard was instantly gone, the unnatural cold abated to just the normal cold to be expected here. It was all quiet. Becker stopped, sensing something. Then the blue dragon flew by, so very fast, dropping a barely conscious Svarak next to the dog. The feline man patted the dog tiredly, before looking up at the majestic blue dragon flying toward the upper floor of the tower. Rilana would be able to see a flash of stunning blue through one of the windows, before everyone felt the tower shudder as the creature collided with it.

Its massive silvery claws dug deep in the stone, and with a single bite, it ripped a massive hole in the top room, giving Alya a perfect view of its terrifying maw. Then its deep voice boomed out to all that could hear mindspeak, "You've failed Leandra. But I will give you what you always wanted." The woman cast a feeble shield in front of her as the dragon opened his maw. A flash of blue shot forth, encasing the entire room. Alya would be protected within her shield, the hole in the floor quickly sealed by ice. Leandra's instant shield broke instantly, and she was frozen just as completely as the statues that were in her control previously.

The dragon peered through the ice, "Worry not little one, I didn't forget about you." The ice had frozen the floor beneath her and the shield, and the dragon's control was perfect. A circle of the floor was detached and safely lowered Alya to the room below, much to the awe of those there. Alya could now hear a much more beautiful song, one singing of freedom, of the beauty in ice, of its majesty. And it wasn't sung by a single source, but as if all the magic in the mountains, in the snow, in everything that had just occurred was singing. And they were all singing for the dragon. The various windows shown with a bright blue light, as the dragon floated out away from the tower. He flapped there, suspended, glowing completely as the singing crescendoed.

Then suddenly it ended on a singular, high note, a note that Alya as a song weaver simply knew as Ice. All of the mages would somehow know, they'd just witnessed the birth of a god. Not any god, but the God of Ice. When the mindspeak was heard this time, everyone could hear it, not just the mages in the group, "Thank you all for freeing me. I am Shadaraliax." Anyone near the statues that weren't Leandra would find them suddenly alive once more, and listening to the new god as well. "Those of you that slept, the people there are your allies, they rescued you and myself. They are among my revered and are under my protection. Do not harm them or face me."

All of the members of the expedition, would feel a cold tickling upon their person. It was in a differently location for each of them. They would find upon their skin, what at first looked to be a tattoo, of an icy crystal. It looked so real that all of them would question if it was actually a mark or not. "This Blessing I give you will provide you protection from my element. You will also find cold worlds working more in your favor. You can use it once each to call me for aid, but after that, it is gone. Use this wisely, and again, thank you."

Rilana would see the white raven landing upon the dragon's nose, and they would all hear him speak to her, "Hello old friend, I see you played a part in this as well. Thank you and fly true." The bird nipped at his nose a bit before flying off to the north. Then Rilana would hear a voice directed solely into her mind, "You should look down, not up." If she followed that advice, she'd see Svarak there sitting up, petting Becker.

Many of the former statues had worked their way outside, while Ortha had found her mother, grunting with the head that wasn't sucking on the bloodstained book. Rilana would get feelings of warmth and familial happiness from Ortha, being back in each other's presence. If Rilana saved the book before it was eaten and made too soggy by saliva, she'd find that the front of it said, Diary of Leandra Sealta, Vol. 4 They were gathering around Svarak, all looking up at the dragon, who floated there for a bit. If anyone paid attention, they could see the storms in the direction of Frigmount moving to other lands. "The way is clear, you will find travel to your destination much improved and expedited. For now, I have other business to attend." With several powerful flaps of his wings, he flew to the southwest, soon nothing more than a speck, then nothing.

Aside from the immunity to the cold air, all of the newly blessed would find themselves unable to sink into the snow unless they so wished, leaving no tracks of any sort. Svarak seemed to be completely fine, though a bit fatigued. If Rilana approached him, he would smile, one that wasn't smug, but one that was genuinely happy to see her again, with just a hint of something else behind his eyes, something... nice. "Well Rilana, it seems our expedition has actually increased in size. Quite impressive." He then stood up, and pulled her into a tight embrace, whispering in her ear, "Thank god you're alive." With just a bit of an extra squeeze, he let her go.

Drisceya and the other knights were quick to load up the extra rams with the books they'd recovered from the library. Svarak looked around, before speaking to Rilana again, "Perhaps it is best we rest for the night, maybe a little bit of wine and smoked meat? It seems we have clear skies for a while." She could now see his blessing, on his right bicep, stunning blue that shifted in such a way each time his fur moved that it never disturbed the pristine image. The people that were frozen were milling about, clearly needing some leadership, to be told what to do. If asked, all but a handful would agree to join them on the expedition to Frigmount.

If camp was set, it would be quite the celebration. Stories between those that traveled would be swapped with those that had been frozen. Some had been frozen for years, whereas one unlucky Chillborn was frozen for about a tenday. They'd all been driven here by the magical blizzard. Rilana would always find Svarak close by, occasionally catching his gaze on her with the corner of her eye.

Chartrose would be able to sense that Shadaraliax had somehow removed the magical ice that had injured Tricia. It would still be unsafe to let her out in the cold, but he would at least know that she was safe within him.

If Alya returned to the top floor, and touched the ice that encased Leandra, she could hear the Note of Ice. It was a difficult sound to recreate, but she was confident that with practice, she would be able to produce it herself.

Once the festivities died down, everyone would find the night quite calm, the wind not chilling them in the slightest. It would be the most peaceful night on their journey, having finally found success, gaining confidence toward the next and final leg of their journey.

The races and creature pages have been adjusted as stated in the previous post. If you have any questions, just ask.
This new rule has been added to the creatures page, and some races will be moved over to creatures to fit under this rule shortly. I will let you all know when this is finished for the current list of races and creatures.

GM NOTE: All creatures can be used as a player character. However, this is only allowed by writers that have put in considerable time and effort into Ebonfort on another character and have thus proven themselves capable. If you wish to play a creature, contact a GM and they will discuss whether they think you are ready or not.
ebonfort.wikia.com/wiki/Empty At the top of the wiki, a new section has replaced the previously useless Stats section. This is the To Do section. Check them out if you need/want any side projects. I'll continue to update the lists as needed. If you have any questions, let me know
Trix smiled lightly as the woman babbled mostly nonsensically. Trix wasn't completely sure, but she guessed that she was the Sunny this woman kept referring to. Unless she was a mad person, but those were all kept in the asylum in the capital. Poor things. Trix didn't know what to call this woman, but the red hair just led to the name Strawberry.

"Calm down Strawberry. I'm going to check out your leg, it will probably hurt." If this woman got too far out of control, Trix could just ask the Knight woman to help hold her down. Trix reached down to Strawberry's pantleg at the ankle to pull it up, "Thanks for showing up when you did, I'd be dead if it weren't for you."

She slowly got the leg up and over the knee, looked down at it with a slight grimace. It was already red with bruise and slightly swollen. It looked to still be in proper alignment, so there was that. She reached into her bag, and pulled out a bowl, and poured in water from her waterskin, added some powdered fairy candle, elderberries, as well as powdered leaves from the elderberry plant. She held it to the woman, close to her mouth, "Drink this, it will help ease the pain and lower the swelling. I'm going to try massaging around the knee, feeling for any breaks. If it hurts too much, tell me. Then I'm going to wrap it up, and we'll get you a crutch."

Trix started by touching the area gingerly with her fingertips. She knew that many bone breaks hurt to the firm touch, because the pain was deeper. If the pain was just surface, of skin and muscle, then it may be more severe with a lighter touch. She slowly rubbed circles, feeling the joint, the swelling, watching the woman's reactions closely.

Once she took her hands away, the knight woman called out, "Just as expected, looks like another company is on the way. I hope it's Captain Krikin, and not Captain Lestol."

Trix listened absentmindedly as she reached into her bag, pulling out bandages. Looking toward Strawberry again, "Looks like everything will be okay now."
@Drache@Foster@Rekaigan - I'm moving this along, so Foster if you're going to return/post, just shoot me a message so we can work out the plot and such.
