There were shitty games back then too. Shitty games usually don't become classics, so everyone forgets about them.
Yeh, you can only vote and see what happens anyway, so you might as well vote for your guy in the primary even if he isn't viable.

In Missouri you can vote in both primaries if you like. Not to say we are particularly relevant to the entire thing...

Oh, he knows.

oh to be a fly in that steam chat
I don't want Trump to win so much as I enjoy having a front row seat to the implosion of this fucktarded two-party system.

I really wish Rand Paul were a viable candidate, but Trump's still better than Shillary or Le Bern XD

i wont tell hugs i swear
I adore Trump.

Politics is just about the only serious interest that I have, and it is probably the most skewed subject out there in so far as how important it is compared to how much people care about it and especially inform themselves about it. Donald Trump makes people interested in politics, and for that, irrespective of his political views or mine, he has my thanks.

The people who are into Trump seem to be people who have been interested in politics for a long time. He seems to be feeding off of the number of dissatisfied Republicans, particularly of the reactionary type. His bread and butter has been, as far as I can tell, baby boomer right-wingers who distanced themselves from Neoconservatives after Bush, and are looking for some charismatic neo-Reagan to restore the concept of conservatism and steal it away from all relatively moderate, uninspiring candidates that keep getting thrown to them. Trump isn't much of a conservative, and definitely not a neo-Reagan, but he can talk a good game and that counts for something when compared to the Romney's and Cruz's of this world.

Or are you talking about the knee-jerk reaction that is really common now among everyone else? How he has caused a lot of otherwise politically lethargic people to cringe in horror and pay attention? I doubt that will translate to any long-term political awareness. It's just the spectacle for the year.
Well, there are definitely a number of hardcore party loyalists out there in the world today. If Jesus descended from heaven on a cloud and announced he was running for President on a Democratic ticket, with a resurrected Ronald Reagan as his VP and William F. Buckley Jr as his press secretary, there would no doubt be a number of Republicans who vote against him because they ain't going to vote for no damn Demoncrat.

You can just imagine the career right-wing pundits rolling out the "Eye of a needle" talking points, or pointing out how Reagan funneled money to Islamic Terrorists in Afghanistan.
I knew he was, but the conservatives of my family have completely disowned him. That is completely sensible.

It is people who secretly support him but try to hide it that stick out as weird. If you believe in something, fucking stand up for it. If you fill guilty about it, perhaps you should take a little time to reflect why you feel that way.
I like the idea he is making excuses though. Has Trump become some sort of forbidden fruit? A naughty secret in all the local conservative meeting houses?
update: Father says Trump showed up at a "meeting" he's at?

my bullshit sniffer is hard at work

Twist: The meeting was a Bernie Sanders rally.

It depends. Did he go voluntarily or was he forced to be your community's sacrifice to the rising God-King?
