I am very excited too. Just need the last few details from the Slamm and Sionnie and we're on express to Faulknorse!

New system. Combat test

Hi, I'm essentially looking for someone or people to help me trial the combat system below.
In short it is just the beginnings but I need to get it right before moving on.

Start with a 30 point spend across basic stats. (For now)

Stats

1=pitiful, 3=average human, 5=human peak, 7=super, 10=godlike

Offence =
Str. 7
Speed. 5
Attack chi. 3

Defense=
Endurance. 4
Awareness. 4
Ability chi. 7

Chi total = At chi +Ab Chi
Physical total= everything else

combat style advantages and disadvantages

Each of your attacks is strong against certain defences and weak against others. (-1, 0, +1) adjust accordingly to suit yourself

Str v End -1
Str v Aware 0
Str v Chi +1

Agi v End 0
Agi v Aware +1
Agi v Chi -1

Chi v End -1
Chi v Aware +1
Chi v Chi 0

Turns

Each turn is divided into two halves.
Defence/attack.
The very first turn (initiation) is just a single attack. The second combatant then chooses a defence to use against it, then retaliates with an attack.

repetition flaws

Repeating the same attack twice becomes predictable. If character red (initiator) started with a str attack and chose to use it again on rnd 2 he would be at a accumulative -2 on his score for repetition. To avoid that a different type of attack must be chosen.
Defensive manoeuvres can be used up to twice in a row before suffering repetition flaws.

You'll need a Stamina/Health system to determine who wins / loses. Of course you probably have this already.

• I need you to choose a favoured enemy
• I need you to choose one extra language
• I need you to choose one type of musical instrument
• I need you to choose a favoured terrain
• I need you to choose a trophy (can be anything mundane)
• I need you to tell me Jethro's Personality Traits, Ideals, Bonds and Flaws.

So... I run into a small giant problem. I no longer have my laptop, and before you ask this 3DS is a handy little thing. Sadly I used my laptop to charge previously stated handy 3DS. I should, hopefully, have my laptop back in a few days, but then again could be months. Hopefully not months. If the game starts before I get my laptop back then have Arthur a little bit behind the rest of the group, catching up when I get back. Anyways, only so much battery left, still others to inform about my sudden absence. Hope to see you lot soon, goodbye.

@Sionnie My apologies. I tend to be busier in the weekends than weekdays.

I will be compiling your character sheets and produce a digital copy of your character sheets before starting (as I mentioned before).

I would also suggest finding an image reference for your characters.

That's fine. You give me what you want in your character and I'll let you know if you can have it or not. Just notify me when you do make changes.

Err, the standard array's maximuim is 18=(6+6+6). Same with the heroic array (4d6, drop lowest.) Only difference is a heroic stat roll gives higher averages.

Anyway, apart from that. I'm ready to start whenever.

This is what i have so far.. Thoughts?

Name: Sionnie (does not know her last name)

Personality: Sionnie is shy and often quiet due to her fear of drawing attention and what that often brings... She is emotionally detached and has problems being social or expressing herself in her interactions with other people. she has an aversion to being touched due to fear of physical harm and reflexsivily repels it. though she comes across as cold she is both thoughtful and kind, for those few who she can trust and would become attached too, her loyalty knows no bounds. because she has problems expressing herself she often acts on her impulses. She has a protective second personality that that exists to protect her from pain. This personality is perfectly described as her "Inner Demon" and has the qualities as of such.

Bonds: She does not have friends, only those who seek to harm or take advantage of her.

Notes: There is an old Wives tale that says that if you continue to sneeze after someone says "Bless You" up to three or more time, you are a demon. For sionnie this is quite literal and very annoying because those word will force her continually to sneeze. She also get strong headaches around holy places or auras. Holy water leaves a nasty burn on her skin ironically the way fire can not achieve.

Although your flaw (which is shy) I'll make you roll a Disadvantage when you try to persuade/deceive/intimidate anyone.
