It began with the decision to ban religion.
Impossible, right? Well first it started with this obsession of separation between Church and State. Then for some reason only Black lives began to matter. And before we know it, people actually thought SJWs were real civil heroes. Never mind the fact that not even the Roman Curia had any power over how people celebrated their nuptials. We somehow thought fighting racism with racism was a good idea. And this movement of "it offends me, therefore it's sexist" was gradually accepted to the point where the crime of slut-shaming became a virtue. Finally, it all boiled down to removing the one thing that was the cause of it all: religion. Religion made you a homophobic, white-privileged sexist.
Hooray for our generation, but there's only one problem.
Lucy, or commonly known as Lucifer, the ruler of Hell, saw this opportunity to ensure humankind's downfall. Combining their scientific ingenuity and some of her black magic, she initiated the design of a virus that would help demons possess humans. Slowly, but surely, many innocent humans were enslaved, having been taken over by malevolent forces that had absolute control of their bodies. It started with rising crime rates, especially violent offenses and sexual assaults. Money from the rich went to drug cartels and gangs. Soon, an entire nation's military would be at the command of a force of evil that no one believes exist.
Heaven's finest are enraged, but none would dare act without permission from the Almighty, who remains silent and generous of his gift of Free Will. It was not until the youngest of the angelic order took a stand. These angels in particular were a unique breed, created by God for the sole purpose of learning modern man and to one day walk among them to inspire holy greatness. But perhaps out of some twisted sense of humor, since God was infallible, these celestial agents were allowed to be selective of what they learned. And what they all shared in common was a penchant for anime and memes.
Their only hope to stop Lucy and prevent national damnation, rests within their search for the last mage, a human blessed with magical powers. To their dismay and slight amusement, the mage turns out to be a debt-ridden gorgeous college student who secretly works as a cam girl to get by. Now the country's survival depends on a group of misfit angels and a faithless internet sex icon. Together they will liberate the souls of the enslaved, defeat the Devil and her army, pay off crippling loans, and make the country great again!

What exactly is this?
Hope is Such a Splendid Thing is a roleplay that pokes fun at some things that many take too seriously. It's a story about hope and redemption. Comedic and ridiculous, it also caters to those with an appreciation for lewdness. You're invited to take part in the damnation or salvation of a great country that has seemingly unburdened itself of religion. The devil, empowered by the lack of faith, devises a plan to enslave humans by possession and inciting more sin. The despair sparks the action of young imperfect angels who team up with most unlikely candidate to help save the world.

CharactersThe Last Human Mage: A university student whose magical powers lay dormant until she unites with Angels. She is mankind's only hope against Hell taking over the country. She works and attends classes full time. To get by, she makes extra cash as a cam girl.
[Taken]Angels: Agents from heaven that want to save humanity. Their goal is to team up with the Last Human Mage and use her powers to stop the Devil. They are youngest in the heaven, designed by God for the purpose of inspiring holiness. They are anime-lovers and so take the form of an anime trope.
