Jiang asks the questions that needs to be asked, it just takes him a long time to get to them.
Baji stood there and listened to the man's introduction, it was great to have a guide to help them get through this journey. After hearing Yuudai's suggestions, he began walking around in circles scratching his head and tapping his chin. Jiang was weighing out all possibilities, one wrong decision and that could cause them the whole mission. "Uta is another village belonging to Shima. Maybe they would go there if there was something else worth stealing. Ru is a place where we have no jurisdiction, there may be similar treasures worth stealing to them and thus would be their next target...however, if they know or even suspect that we are onto their trail then they would expect us to either go to Uta since it would be easier to get people to cooperate with the search and we would have a better chance of knowing who doesn't belong there or expect us to go to Ru because that would be the obvious choice of where they would flee...but they could expect us to know all of this already and take the obvious escape route, expecting us to expect them to take the less obvious one."

In the midst of his verbal brainstorming he was instinctively posing and stretching around the area. Jiang Baji stopped moving and stood in one spot on one foot with that knee slightly bent and the other leg off the ground with it's ankle resting on the other knee as if he was making a figure 4 and leaning forward. He thought some more until he came with a bright idea, or at least a good question to ask their guide. "Aha! Takumi, I am Jiang Baji, The Dog of Shima and I have a question for you! Surely as a guide you and your brethren have been approached and employed by shady individuals who wish to disappear without a trace! Are there any places, any roads or hidden byways that a criminal or anyone may take around here if they wished to disappear discreetly without a trace?" He didn't know if there was such a place, but if it existed then it may be worth giving that a try, maybe that's what the thieves decided, to take an unknown route so we would be behind regardless of where we went. "If not then I say that we check Ru, if they didn't go there yet, then they may be a target in the future if they have something similarly valuable."
Awesome :D Just need to give everything a once-through again and I'll let you know if anything comes up :)

Welcome to the fold, you will never leave us now!
I was waiting on Narrator.
Thanks, broham.
Their lord put his complete trust in them and in return he asked Baji to do the same with his allies. He would get off from the floor and stride forward and make his way towards the exit. Baji quickly turned his attention to Hibiki before exiting, however. He walked over to the monk and addressed him once more. "I do not mean to offend or make you sound incapable of basic movement, but do you need any help or would you like a friend to walk out with you?" He wasn't trying to be insensitive, but he didn't want to just join the rest without checking on Hibiki in case he did need some help finding his way out.
I figured as much due to the lack of communication.
Baji was caught in a headlock and had his hair messed up by Yuudai. Usually this was a grave offense that demanded action to be taken, but it was nothing more than a minor annoyance due to his hair being in an ordinary style and his family not being there with him. It seemed as if she misinterpreted his words as misogynistic or maybe that her cooking was the only value that she had. Jiang Baji pried his head free from her grasps and fixed his hair. "Please, leave the hair out of this. I hold your culinary skills in high regard. You are the only one I would ask to prepare my final meal. I meant no offense." He had hoped that his words were enough to settle that misunderstanding. It seemed as if his words of encouragement were received improperly on a few others as well, and one didn't seem to care at all. Such a lack of companionship was an odd and foreign feeling to Jiang Baji and he would do his best to bring everyone closer together in whatever way that he could. The blind monk and the old crow were his biggest concerns, he always set out to protect the little guy and make them feel safe even if they did have decades more of experience and could take him out from a distance without him even knowing.

The success of this mission was crucial for Lord Shima and Jiang Baji himself. He needed to win Shima's favor for the future and to become stronger himself. The azure warrior approached his lord once more, bowing before his graciousness and spewing out his fears of failure to him.
"My lord, I have been struck with terrible fear of us failing you in the worst way possible! As you can see, we are very diverse and come from different backgrounds with different morals. Our greatest strength can also be our greatest weakness if we allow ourselves to swallow each other up! There may come a time where we can not agree on the course of action to take or how to approach a situation, few may suggest peace while others vote for violence. We could be caught off guard by the enemy or let an opportunity slip through the ether due to egos, ideals and bickering!" Jiang took in one last deep breath before continuing on with his point. "I humbly ask that you make accommodations to send a politician or someone who will act as your final verdict! Elect someone to carry the burden of making the impossible decisions so that we have no choice but follow in your honor and so that our egos will not get the better of us!" He spoke with such spirit and fervor in his voice and thought only of the survival of his group. For them and the Shima Clan, he would always remain humble and stalwart, he would always fight for them in the name of justice!
@The Narrator Question: Is Hibiki's character/soul reading ability common knowledge or something he is keeping on a need to know basis with Lord Shima?

I will be leaving soon to celebrate a friend's birthday but I will try to get something up before then.
