Feel free. I'll answer what I can.

What did you leave behind?
<Snipped quote by whizzball1>

*Glances to my left*
Yeah. Me too.

Can I ask the personal question you probably expect me to ask?
<Snipped quote by whizzball1>

Ideally I won't ever see it again, so I won't have to care. To clarify, I mean care about roaming.

Oh! I wouldn't super care either unless I couldn't see my family.
<Snipped quote by whizzball1>

I just really haven't been able to bring myself to care. Not for a long time, and when I did care, it wasn't my choice.

That's unfortunate! Do you care now?
<Snipped quote by whizzball1>

It isn't suggested.

I wouldn't think so!

After you've managed to eliminate the control of its previous owner? I couldn't tell you what it's like to actually claim one because I've never done it—I'm what one might call a "roamer," someone who navigates Existence without any territories or allegiances.

And that's allowed?
<Snipped quote by whizzball1>

It's effectively a similar concept, but on a smaller scale. The larger your territory, the more power you can store and call upon at a given time.

But how do you get territory?
<Snipped quote by whizzball1>

Do you know how Tier Five exerted control over all of Existence? They had special privileges due to their class?

Didn't they just have a lot of power to do whatever they wanted? And they could make rules using the System?
<Snipped quote by whizzball1>

It is effectively exerting one's control, presence, and influence over a dimensional region. Typically, the owner of the territory will defend it and attempt to prevent a takeover. The more territory you have, the more strength you likely have at your disposal. Of course, you could run out if in nonstop battles, but for the most part, that's how it works.

How does this territory thing know that you own a territory and somebody else doesn't? What do you mean by control? What do you have to control?

*The Gyroball slows to a stop and a bunch of people file out and file in* See how quick that was? Less than a minute to travel an eighth of the mountain! Sometimes it feels like the longest part is getting people in and out. Two more sectors. *The Gyroball starts going again, stopping at another sector, and then it goes and comes to a stop; our seatbelts beep and let us out* Sector 3-e-zeta. Hospes' Bakery, here we come! *Steps out of the Gyroball out of the station and comes out to another busy street surrounded by shops*
