How do you feel about having Slovakia as a point of contention between our respective nations, with each of us controlling roughly half the territory? Or possibly Austria, since under your sheet you say you have a part of it.
Problem is that Slovakia's territories are part of the Carpathian mountains, meaning they are priority. That and I don't think your European nation could've effectively fought back after WW3, that's the interesting part of it. Actually while rivalry is expected I kind of also think that your nation and mine may wish to burry the hatchet in preparation for the neverending wave of red from Midhar's Super Soviet Union.
@MurtoxLooks good. Just a few things to fix. 2030 is when the war ended, not its start. Aside from maybe the GM nobody knows how long WW3 went on. Personally I bet it's only a few years. Also I think you may want to kick that Union together a bit sooner. Things take time to sink in.
Yeah, you can't just refuse to take part in the war. If things would be so easy you can bet that there wouldn't be quarter as much war. Brits are important on the political, economic and all around a big player in the world. If WW3 breaks out they can't just stand around, not with the current globalized world. If all you need to survive a huge scale war to just refuse to participate in it then you can bet how many people would choose that.
@The NexerusI just read your NS again and it's kind of a headscratcher for me that how would England survive WW3 relatively unharmed? They are one of top nations thus it also earns them priority from other nations after the obvious customers like Russia, China and of course the USA. Even if you quit the EU I can't see your nation getting away from a near-civilization ending war free. Hungary or Ethiopia can have the excuse of being pretty much irrelevant. Britain wouldn't be so lucky. Either way if there's any global superpower wouldn't that be the new Soviet Union with combining Russia and China and anyone nearby? Their economy might have issues but the fact they are easily the single largest country can easily compensate for that.
That being said this almost feels like nitpicking because in the end it doesn't matter how grand X nation is stated to be. What matters is how we play them.

Politics/Society
As its name suggests Neo Hungaria is a monarchy ruled by their king. The current regent is Mathias III, aged 42. He's the son of the late king Reinhard von Croy and direct descendant of the Arpád Dynasty. He was born in Belgium but spent most of his life in Hungary and later adopted the name Korona Mátyás (Mathias Crown). The main decision-making body of Neo Hungaria is the Parliament which is mostly dominated by the right-wing Hungarian Unity Novation (HUN) party albeit their authority is far less absolute compared to the past. In every four years the members of the Parliament are decided by vote although the system isn't completely clean. Hungarian is the the country's official language albeit given the large diversity of ethnicities and nationalities within Neo Hungaria they also support schools in other languages and people can do administrative duties in up to 11 tongues. Multi-culturalism is prevalent albeit Hungarians subtly still enjoy some preferential treatment.
Economy
Neo Hungaria remained neutral through the entire length of WW3 which allowed them to survive these years relatively intact. Their neighbors were not so lucky and as Neo Hungaria conquered them it also had an impact on their economy. Their conquest was fueled by nationalist propaganda about restoring Hungary of the past yet in effect it also bore strategic importance. Many of the old kingdom's richest agricultural fields and allocation of natural resources were held by foreign countries. Reparations and war-waging costs were expensive but turned out to be rewarding on the long run. With these Neo Hungaria became an economic powerhouse compared to the rest of Europe. They have rich mountains abundant in materials, oil fields and excellent farmlands. Due to the latter they also invested considerable effort in producing various biofuels thus allowing them to be close to self-sufficient. Export of food and materials is one of their largest source of income.
Even prior to WW3 Hungary was keeping pace with other nations when it came to science and technology. This only accelerated after the formation of Neo Hungaria. The nation's economy multiplied more than tenfold and this had a drastic impact on technology and industry. Nowadays Neo Hungaria is one of the most developed nations in the world.
Military
Ever since its conception Neo Hungaria put emphasis on their military and with a good reason. Even after its numerous territorial acquisitions Neo Hungaria was surrounded by giant nations that threatened their existence. As such compared to its neighbors Neo Hungaria is more militarized and their military expenses (along with R&D) reach as high as 21% of their budget. Along with the technological and industrial boom, Neo Hungaria also devoted great resources into arming their forces with only national products. This resulted in a temporarily setback as the industry for making weapons was yet to be finished but by the 2040s this idea became a reality.
Name: Bocskai III-V2 Classification: Stealth-Capable Light Battle Tank Manufacturer: FÉG-ARMY Rollout Date: 2044 (original), 2047 (current variation) Crew: 3 Length: 7m (~10m with the gun forward) Width: 3.4 m Height: 2.6 m Weight: 18.2 metric tons (22.6 tons with extra armor kits) Armor: CNT-BNT composite modular armor Engine: FÉG TURBO-900C Multi-Fuel Turbine Engine (899hp/670kW) Maximum Speed: 120 km/h, up to 85 km/h offroad Maximum Range: 1700 km Main Armament: FÉG 120mm L/70 Multi-Stage Cannon (16x3 ammo, RoF: 6-40RPM depending on mode) Co-Axial Gun: FÉG-M41 10mm Machinegun Secondary Weapon: Csepel-Manfréd Modular Remote Controlled Weapon System (various loadouts) Active Protections: FÉG PL-100 laser defense system (100kW), Smoke grenade launchers, FÉG ORS-4B anti-missile package (includes targeting jammers and anti-projectile launcher ports linked to complex sensors)
Light and advanced tank and the chief fighting vehicle employed by the Royal Hungarian Army. Its predecessor the Bocskai Tank was just a license-built version of the Polish PL-01. But following this subsequent versions constantly upgraded the tank to the extend that the Bocskai III tank is practically a whole different vehicle. The most notable difference is the new full-CNT chasis which improved protection while also decreasing weight, making the tank incredibly light and easy to transport. Though without dense heavy metal frame the armor only offers limited protection against APFSDS rounds. Another focus was on the tank's stealth. The Bocskai III uses the 3rd generation of the PL-01's thermal and radar stealth system and in standard combat situations and from sufficient distance this makes the vehicle practically unetectable. Newest addition is the Bocskai III's active camouflage system which by using the CNT's electronic properties can allow the tank to literally change colors, thus mimicking the surroundings. While this is obviously nowhere close to invisibility it works rather well from standard engagement distances. The Bocskai III also has the latest generation of passive and active protection systems which by the second variation includes a PL-100 laser point defense. Not to replace anti-missile defenses the laser works the best against distant or slow-moving explosive warheads. It can also double as an anti-infantry weapon although overusing the system can be damaging. Lastly the tank has a 120mm gun using the latest liquid propellant shells. Because this alone wouldn't be enough to defeat the latest armors the Bocskai III's cannon has the option for multi-stage acceleration where the side caverns of the barrel are filled up with extra propellant which would be controllably released as the projectile travels. The process takes roughly 8-10 seconds to prepare but the extra power is guaranteed to worth it.
Name: Toldi IVe Classification: Main Battle Tank Manufacturer: MAVAG Rollout Date: 2041 (original), 2048 (current variation) Crew: 3 Length: 7.45m (~12m with the gun forward) Width: 3.6 m Height: 3.2 m Weight: 48.8 metric tons Armor: Laminate Honeycomb Composite Modular Armor Powerplant: MAVAG W16SH-3600 Liquid-cooled Turbodiesel Engine (2222hp/1657kW) Maximum Speed: 90 km/h, up to 64 km/h offroad Main Armament: FÉG 160mm L/60 Gun (30 RPM with autoloader, 3x12 shells) Co-Axial Gun: FÉG-M41 10mm Machinegun Secondary Weapon: Csepel-Manfréd Modular Remote Controlled Weapon System (various loadouts) Active Protections: Smoke grenade launchers, laser/radar warning and jammers, FÉG ORS-5 defense system (incorporates various sensors while having the combination of explosive, projectile and laser based interceptors)
While the Bocskai tanks are innovative, cheap and effective in warfare, there are several situation where the army requires a typical MBT for the job. As such Neo Hungaria developed the Toldi IV main battle tank. Named after a Hungarian knight famous for his strength and valor the Toldi IV is an advanced fighting vehicle with the latest weaponry and protection. 140-150mm guns are dominating tank battles for decades now. MAVAG and FÉG went a step further by chambering the new cannon at 160mm. The increased diameter offers extra power but more importantly it allows the use of more diverse types of shells and gun-launched missiles. Neo Hungary also developed their own unique armor system which is relatively light while offers great degree of protection. It's tough and enduring, its microscopic BN honeycomb plates being immune to the "multiple hit problem" ceramic panels suffered. The armor was also made with the future possibility of irradiated environments and directed energy weapons in mind. Of course the Tolid IV also features the latest electronics, sensors and countermeasures with the E-variant debuting with the FÉG ORS-5 system with coverage and response time far better than most contemporary systems. All of these together makes the Toldi IVe a powerful but expensive tank when compared to the Bocskai III-V2.
As you can guess this is still very much work in progress. For some reason I always have the most problem with writing up history for my NS.
The shot was fired an hour down the road from the base in an APC going a good 45mph, far enough away from the base to be considered part of the battlefield between Randgriz and Vasel. Squad 11 could have been part of the outer patrols of the base, but nevertheless were sufficiently far from Breda to be a viable target for Imperial attack. To clarify, the road north leads through wooded areas with no urban development and only a few hamlets dotted around; perfect ground to ambush a patrol.
As for retrieving the lance, standard operating procedure for locating an ambush survivor would include securing the immediate area and radioing for reinforcements to secure the ambush site. In the circumstances, reinforcements are unlikely since the regiment is still organising for the march north, so the squad has two options; accepted the loss of the lance and leave the fate (and dogtags) of their comrades unknown, or proceed to secure the area with the resources on hand. Harald is more likely to choose the latter, especially since they have about a week to secure the avenue to Vasel; they're in no real rush to hit Le Haye Sainte.
If the majority of players wish to go hunting, then a'hunting we shall go.
I thought we are past the 1 week limit and we are now in a hurry. Oh well, I don't mind this distraction if we actually have time for that. And you can bet Kyo would very much support this (in IC). Albeit I don't exactly like our odds. Oh well, we'll see what's going to happen.
This may help you determining the borders of mine. The only additions besides these are Croatia and the remainder territories of Romania and Serbia.

Ok, You know what, here is an idea. @Durandal@Willy Vereb. Ok Durandal, let Willy get the territories he wants, and the EU can get France. Hows that sound?
I like this idea of course. But it'll depend on Durandal.
I'll post my NS in the OOC regardless and then alter things depending on how my talks with Durandal go. With my NS out we both know which parts would clash and then fix things accordingly.

Military: Active Manpower- 477,809 Reserve Manpower- 221,620
Economics: As a result of the devastation caused by the Third World War and the destruction of trade between many countries following, the GEC became much more self-sufficient out of necessity, unable to support itself as it had before the War. Originally a small portion of the EU's budget, agriculture has become much more supported by the GEC, amounting to 40% of total spending as food imports are much less reliable. Although agriculture consumes a massive amount of the GEC's budget, the primary industries are manufacturing and renewable energy. As limited fossil fuels exist within the member states due to decades of pre-War consumption and lack of easily accessible reserves, renewable energy, primarily wind farms, geothermal vents, and solar power, have risen to power much of the territory. Limited nuclear power exists in certain area and research is being conducted into hydrogen fuel cells. Bioenergy is also a large industry, utilizing some of the reserves of crops to produce fuel.
Manufacturing centers around primarily consumer goods and large industrial equipment, with sectors such as military, small industrial equipment, and other items taking lesser importance. Electronics are a large sector of production, although chemicals and automotives, as well as pharmaceuticals, are the largest areas of industrial production in the GEC.
History:
Demographics: Population- 37,339,520
Ethnicities Diverse to the point of equality between the larger nations, although smaller nations have a much smaller representation of ethnicity. Most people are Caucasian (67%), but there are many other ethnicities, primarily Arabic and African.
Religion: No official state religion exists with the GEC, although the member state of Italy is a partial theocracy centered around Catholicism. Open worship is allowed by the central government, although member states may have other restrictions as long as they do not go against the laws set in place by parliament. Tolerance is promoted as a means to ensure peace although prejudices do still exist in large numbers, although religion has started to fade. Most people are atheists or agnostic (48% of the population), with the rest being mainly Muslim and Catholic, although other religions do exist. No official census has been taken on the subject of religion due to it's sensitive nature.
Bolded are either partial or full territory claims. The italicized parts are things that would be an issue with Neo Hungarica around. Besides, why France and Great Britain aren't claimed in this? What about Spain and/or Portugal? Scandinavian regions?
Because yeah, as things currently stand there are indeed considerable clashes between these two nations. I thought we can quickly talk it over through the OOC but given the above, it might be indeed better if we continue this in PMs.
