@Willy Vereb Works for me. Both designs look fine, and I imagine Malagasy is content to trade for those vehicles. They'll probably take at least as many vehicles from Franco-Iberia, and exports from both nations will make up the majority of tanks used by the Peacekeepers. Malagasy will equip its Chevaliers with its own designs.
Well, I think realistically it'd be better if you choose only one supplier for mainline tanks.
Getting a mix of vehicles with way different parts and maintenance could be a logistic nightmare.
But it's up to you.
Personally I'd love if there'd be an IC competition between me and Franco-Iberia's design to see which is the better.
A competitive test of sorts.

Yeah, Malagasy Enterprises is going to make a lot of enemies with their gene manipulation for sure. But then they're a huge agricultural supplier that is mostly concerned with the expansion of trade, and they're pretty far off... They're probably seen as a "tolerable evil" when it comes to getting their goods.

Yeah, so let's have a strong trade going on, but let's say that the BEST equipment Hungary isn't shipping to Malagasy Enterprises, at least not yet. Malagasy Enterprises isn't a friend; just a business partner.
Well, they don't sell their best military hardware for obvious reasons.
In terms of AFVs you can choose from two upgraded Great War vintages, the HK-27 Lehel and the ML-24 Makk.
The first is kind of like the T-55 but with 105mm cannon and more Westernish setup.
The Makk is like the StuG III/IV tank destroyers but with upgraded features and a high-velocity 105mm gun.

Both are decent enough even in the current times but certainly not top-notch. Think of the equivalent of getting Centurion tanks in the 50s. They are good but the designs are approaching their limits how much they can keep up with the times.

I'm looking at your culture/demographics section again. The demographics of Hungary are pretty similar to Madagascar, and the treatment of non-humans is similar (tolerated but not exactly accepted)...

I can see Malagasy Enterprises trading foodstuffs and luxury agricultural products in return for military equipment, metals, and electrical equipment. I don't see these nations as necessarily the best of friends, but a mutually beneficial trade relationship with a foreign entity that isn't really in punching range would definitely be good to Malagasy Enterprises.

...Of course, the corporate government would probably want to secure deals with Hungary which prevent them from opening similar trade deals with the Great Han. I honestly think the Great Han is going to be a natural enemy of Malagasy Enterprises just due to conflicting interests and border friction.

Thoughts?
Actually we pretty much tolerate mutants, it just happens that even if there are laws protecting them things are not so easy. Imagine blacks in the early 1990s, for example. Actually given the Holy League's deep Christian roots and conservatism it's kinda amazing how they managed to accept mutants.
On the other hand you'd likely won't make many friends with your openness to gene manipulation. That's a seriously big can of worms.

But yeah, trade relationship is entirely possible. I happen to have a bit of presence in Africa so perhaps that could be our point of contact.

Just updated my vehicle park a bit. Added a lot more armored vehicles.
As you know me this is hardly the full list but it might still be interesting.

ML-24 Makk SPG/Tank Destroyers and HK-27 Lehel MBTs are on sale for export. Both are equipped with 105mm guns.
If you have good relations with the League then perhaps you may even acquire HK-48 Zrínyi tank destroyers. Those are quite good for defense.
@Mikellh DejaxSounds good to me of course.
You can work on your army profile.

BTW, how large of a military force should we muster? Do you want only space battles or also wish to try fighting on planets?

What if they managed to destroy the Builder's suit? It'd be enough to have the Congregation see the SF as a threat, and since they've already tried to use a diplomatic approach and failed, they'd resolve that the only course of action would be war.
Can work, especially if the Builder is not there to give a moral/emotional view on things nor to communicate with SF. Thus things get nasty.

The Congregation doesn't actually have very tangible things that can get stolen, even the hardlight ships either dematerialize after use, or cannot be operated by corporeal species.

What about the Congregation and the Builder arrive at an outer rim colony world and then ask the planet for knowledge and trade, but the SF military freaks out and attacks them first?
Like I said, either offend you or steal something.
If you don't think there's anything valuable they just take away (keep in mind their tech can deal with non-corporeals to an extend so taking something borderline conceptual is also plausible) then just assume they did something bad to you otherwise and now those people are hiding somewhere deep within the Federation.

Granted, Starfleet or especially local border patrols panicking and firing at you out of reflex is indeed possible. But I don't feel that'd be even remotely enough to bother you.

I see. How should first contact go about? And should the SF be the ones who actually fire first?
I think it's more fun if it's left ambiguous.
From general SF point of view you'd be violent invaders who suddenly appeared at our borders and kept murdering humans unprovoked.
From your point of view you made first contact with one of the Starfleet's ships prior which either offended you deeply and/or stole something precious to you.
As such you're out to get back at those people and also to recover whatever was stolen. The rest of the humans are merely in just your way.
How does it sound?

@Willy Vereb Alright, I'm here. Do you have ideas how our races start a war? It'd be pretty difficult, since both of our species don't like warmongering, the Star Federation has a military, but only for defense purposes and they dislike war because of the Last Great War (from what I read), and the Congregation and the Builder try to avoid wars as much as possible, seeking only to trade with the rest of the sapient species in the universe. Maybe it starts by accident perhaps?
In all likelihood that's what'd happen.
Albeit keep in mind that the Star Federation is corrupt as hell under the surface and their anti-war doctrine is closer to a PR move. Certainly they avoid being associated with things related to the Last Great War but they found plenty of workarounds. Once you peel away their anti-war and friendship crap they are a greedy hyper-capitalist system.
I basically made them as a more realistic foil to the typical sci-fi Federations, in particular the UFP from Star Trek.

@Mikellh DejaxPardon me for the delay. I failed to notice your post.
Anyways, the thread is ready now:
