So, the suits are everything that a person needs to survive in a possibly hostile alien planet- self-contained three-minute air supply, more if you attach air canisters to the belt, relatively thick and durable to protect against extreme temperatures, completely sealed, so it could stand up to the vacuum of space, even. Magnetic boots, to keep one's feet grounded against magnetic walkways in zero-g environments. And more- interface inside the suit, statuses and such showing up on the extra holographic screen that's mounted on one's chest, and a full communications suite- which isn't needed when one can telepathically hear their buddies.

That'll kick in later, when their biological systems have stabilized from stasis.
