When it comes to roleplay, I find that there are few things more beautiful than when characters unexpectedly evolve into entirely different people over the course of a story.

Bio

My time with the guild must come to an end, it's been a short but relatively enjoyable one. This is me just stopping by for the last time (6/12/2017) to say goodbye to past and present RP partners!

"This sword, forged in fire and ice. The runes that trail its blade can be seen but by my two eyes.

As if written in the snow, the lies, shall melt away. By the wheel of sun to cross the sky this day. Shadows may lay heavy upon the earth.

But the truth, cut deep in stone, will last 'til the heavens comes tumbling down upon this world."

Historical reenactor, Avid roleplayer, Writer, HEMA practitioner, Gamer, Painter.

I'm an experienced Roleplayer who has been roleplaying for 13 or so years, mostly in MMOs but also on the tabletop and via text among other things. Roleplaying, creative writing and history are a few things I am quite passionate about. I like to think that I am quite flexible when it comes to style of roleplay and the setting in which it takes place, that being said I have a bias towards Fantasy settings and tend to prefer deeper narratives.

To name a few of my other hobbies aside from roleplay, I enjoy historical reenactment, gaming, worldbuilding, writing stories, HEMA and LARP, painting, cosplay and making things.

A bunch of my favourite settings are Dragon Age, Guild Wars, Bloodborne, Total Annihilation: Kingdoms, Pillars of Eternity, Warcraft, Warhammer (40K and Fantasy), Fallen London/Sunless Sea, Darkest Dungeon, Cthulhu mythos, A Song of Ice and Fire, Runequest/Mythras, Dungeons and Dragons and Hillfolk.

Oh yes, one more thing. I should probably mention that I'm not a nazi, and the fact that Norse symbolism and the "viking" image are often used with bigoted connotations disgusts me.

The Rugged Fish

Ryker of the Barrows

The growth of the city, coupled with the growth of the nearby town of Averby caused the two to expand into one another, with the two separated only by the walls of Averine city and the river which surrounded them. Even after crossing the main drawbridge leading out of Averine and into Averby it never truly felt like Ryker had left the city. The Wayfairer's Wagon inn was in Averby and could be seen just east of the city gates. It was a short walk and though Averby was busy it was nowhere near as bustling as the city itself.

It was obvious how the inn had gotten its name, as upon Rykers approach he could see three seperate wagons parked besides and beside those a large stable suitable for many horses. One of the wagons had men working on it who seemed to be preparing to set off eastwards, they loaded and unloaded crates and barrels and joked among one another. The second wagon caught Ryker's eye, however, for it was a type of wagon he recognised. A modified war-wagon with crossed swords and a blue shield painted on the side. Atop the wagon was a huge, steel limbed ballista; the kind of ballista used to harpoon great monstrous beasts during hunting missions. The presence of this wagon indicated Ryker had certainly found the place he was looking for.

As he entered, Ryker found himself in a pleasant, rustic inn decorated with drapes of exotic fabrics, animal hides and trophies from various hunts, and opposite the counter was an open log fireplace filled with black ashes and soot. As the man put down his equipment and took a seat he was approached by a serving girl who offered him a small bowl of gruel and a cup of milk to drink for the humble price of four copper shards.
Just finished creating a map for the city and the surrounding countryside, it can be found in the lore compendium of the OOC tab, or pinned at the top of the IC tab behind a hider for easy reference during RP! Don't worry if your PC's hometown isn't on there as there are plenty of towns further afield.
Ulf Egilsson roared with the rest as he disembarked from the Odin's Whisper and made his way up the beach alongside his fellow Norsemen and women. He kept up with the rest of the raiders at a sprightly jog just behind the men at the front, and despite the weight of his armour and helmet, which he favoured for its unparalleled protection and sinister appearance, he had no problems keeping up with them. He held his dane axe in two hands up over his shoulder so that it was poised for an overhead swing and roared to his fellows as the alarm bell atop the monastery began to blare

"Good! Now they know that we are coming!"
The Great Northern Wood

Emirien

Davian helps Emirien stand by offering her his hand, but doesn't pull her to her feet. He still occasionally rubs his throbbing eye with his free hand and frantically blinks the ache away whenever he isn't rubbing it. "Never mind vicious grouse, it's the trees and soil we need to watch out for." he says, exhaling sharply from his nose as he sniggers. He moves so that he is stood with his back to the brnach which just hit him and turns to face Emirien, briefly eyeing her. "Best not to hunt with a wounded ankle, but you seem alright. 'Reckon we should keep going or do you want to go back?" His body language betrays him despite his words, however, and as he half turns and brushes the twigs aside once more while keeping his eyes on Emirien it is obvious that he would prefer to continue onwards into the woods.

The Rugged Fish

Ryker of the Barrows

The next morning promised fairer weather. The rain from the day before had passed during the night and though the city streets were still damp the sun had been shining since it rose with only a few clouds in the sky. Unfortunately for Ryker, this meant that the city had gotten busier earlier as he made his way to the Rugged Fish. On the other hand, Rykers appearance and the presence of his sword seemed to dissuade thieves from taking advantage of his encumbered, and he made it to his destination unmolested.

The inside of the small quayside inn was quieter than it was yesterday with only the bartender present as Ryker entered. Regardless of how hard Ryker knocked on Alexandra's door no answer came. Perhaps she was a heavy sleeper and hadn't gotten up yet, or perhaps she had already left, and the innkeep didn't help much as he called to him: "Haven't seen her since last night, my man. Mayhaps she slipped out without me knowing it but I reckon she's the type who wants to be seen and heard wherever she goes, eh? So I doubt that. Want me to take a message, or get you a drink while you wait?"
@Eilyx Welcome to the guild, and welcome back to the world of roleplay. I too was once charmed and stolen away by the beauty that are Guild Wars and it's sequel, I even ran a bunch of RP guilds there.
@Dynamo Frokane Glad to hear you've enjoyed giving it a read, and thanks for the kind words! If you (Or anyone!) do ever fancy jumping in then feel free. This RP is free roaming, with a few key plot points, twists and threads which players might discover if they play their cards right. Meaning it'll never be too late to jump in and enjoy the world.
Bump. We haven't had a post made by a player in a while. Players, let me know if interest is waning rather than just disappearing please! On another note, if anyone is interested this is still very much open to new players.
Odin's Whisper
Ulf Thrallson opted to dress himself in his armour before he joined the rowers, and quite obviously took his time about doing so. Once all his armour save for his helmet was on he took a seat by one of the oars and joined in rowing in unison with the rest of the crew. For now he addressed no one as no one had addressed him but he laughed aloud at some of the insults being thrown back and fourth from the two boats.
@Warborn123@Sirkaithethird How long/many players are we looking for in total before we get this ship sailing?
