I haven't really dispersed so much as don't see a full scene ahead of me. I understand we can have conversations but I dont really see it adding or moving my character forward. I am not ignoring I just don't want to force the conversation/post count with filler words about describing food and stuff. Sorry if it sounds snobby or something I just only want to put my best words forward for this role play. Since there is only myself and Avan who are in Griffindor I figure we will be talking through PM to discuss how our friendship moves forward and things that happen with the two of us between time skips.
Looking back I realize you might be waiting to hear from me. I am here and good to go.
Still here.
So I'm going to wait so there isn't a sandwich post pattern. That sai what are our numbers? I'm expecting myself to be able to post once ever other day but have needed to wait a fair bit. Should we invite a few to join or just enforce some quicker post times?
Devin wouldn't have hid his relief if he could after Jake came over to the same table and joined the Griffendor house with him. He felt like he was in the right group as they quickly all joined together in excited voices. It wasn't hard for the people around Devin to figure out he was a little more removed from magic then the normal first year, but without missing a beat whomever was closest or noticed the first year sporting a confused or quizzical look would lean over and explain whatever was going on.

Devin enjoyed having Jake sit next to him. He was the one often explaining something. His voice rang true through the noise and more often than not would express excitement which was quickly infecting Devin even more then the excitement Devin got from witnessing magic first hand. He loved watching the sorting hat do its tricks and every time the hat was put on another student he would lean over to try and hear what the hat said. Unfortunately, he could never hear the voice he heard when the hat was on is head. Still as he watched the hat distribute the first years to their respected houses he couldn't see any sort of pattern other then the fact that no single person was completely disappointed by their assignment. The worst case was some looks of confusion by other non-magic born like Devin.

"Has anyone ever moved houses?" Devin asked Jake. "I mean what if someone didn't want to be in a house. People seem to sometimes want to join a specific house so what if they don't get assigned to the one they want? Is there a legacy program or something for families like yours?"
The holiday rush is something we should all prep for. That said I will be in one place at the time so I will be ready for it. As for living up to my name I don't take it lightly! Been traveling all of south and Central America for the past half year with my trip finally ending after the new year. Looking forward to this role play being right there with me!
For me slow is nice. When this role play started I was down in Panama and am now in Mexico. That said I can move with a faster pace so a pick up would be fine.
Devin listened to the schools headmistress give a curt welcome towards his fellow first years along with a few choice warnings and introductions. 'Definitely beats the assemblies at his school back home' he thought to himself. The sorting began and before he had time to register just how amazed he was over the fact that there was a talking hat in front of him he heard his name ring out clear against the massive dinning room.

Walking up to the stool he felt little assurance from the headmistresses thin smile as she placed the hat on top of the young Canadian. "Welcome to school boy." The hat said. When it talked Devin could feel a slight tussle from the brim. "There seems to be plenty of confusion in your thoughts. Unsure what to ask for... But a desire to do right is there... That kind of importance to you and your family... Must be. Griffindor!"

As the houses name rang out a steady applause came from one of the tables dressed mostly in red and gold. Seeing the lion symbol above and using common sense Devin went to this table to join his newfound family. As he sat down he was introduced to some of the prefects who would be his RA in a sense. After a quick conversation the group around him turned back and they all watched the sorting continue. Devin let out a long breath. The first hurdle had been jumped.
Devin let out a steady sigh of relief after seeing his nutty sports obsessed side be welcomed rather then ignored by the small now seemingly ever increasing group. The new boy to enter seemed friendly enough but a final verdict him was going to have to wait as the train made its way into the station. The cars quickly unloaded their cargo of eager students to their respected transports. Devin followed the orders given and made his way to a small, dock with boats parked along the side.

Devin managed to get into a boat with three unfamiliar faces. He smiled at them and they did the same back. Still it was clear they were just as nervous as he was especially since he couldn't figure out how the boats started to move on their own. 'I'll never get used to this' he thought to himself.

When the boats turned the gentle bend in the lake the view of the school mesmerized the young Canadian. He felt like all the castles in his young adventure books had come to life right before him. The tower overlooking the whole grounds was constantly busy with birds and the flames lit up the buildings with just enough light to make out the massive complex including the walkway to the quidditch pitch down below in the valley. Walking with his jaw barely hanging on Devin was like the rest of the first years. A sheep being herded into the great hall.

'I'm really never going to get used to this...' The young man thought as he looked up at the ceiling. He saw a familiar face in Jake and moved to stand next to him. "Is that normal?" He asked pointing to just about everything. He felt himself already mostly comfortable around the fellow first year. After all he knew what baseball was so he must be at least an alright guy.
Mm possible I missed your post. Will go back and read through again. Any word from our other cabin mate?
