Devin woke up to the sound of his dad banging on his door to wake up and get to school. Rolling out of bed and getting himself ready he was out of bed and out the door in an efficient 24 minutes. Throwing on some headphones and walking to school meant he spent most of his morning on his phone listening to music and scanning the social media of his life.

Few surprises were found as most were about the recent murders that had been taking place at his school. Over the summer break his dad had been somewhat crazy and talking about moving or sending Devin and his little sister to some other school. Of course that wasn't really an option for Devin, but he figured the whole thing was really just bringing up their mothers case again.

The fact that the fingers were found and people had been going missing didn't just freak Devin out, they had him downright angry. He was angry that the police didn't seem to know anything, he was angry at the faculty for not knowing anything, and he was pissed at his fellow students for thinking they knew everything and confusing gossip and rumor with facts. The social media surrounding the missing persons was enough to make him hurl.

Switching to music he threw on some beats and walked the rest of the 15 minutes to school listening to some zone out music and casually giving the nod to fellow classmates as they all made their way into the educational penitentiary that was Kage Private High. When he rounded the gate with the school sign and walked up the front courtyard he saw a few people he shared classes with last year. One or two seemed to notice him and didn't say much while the rest seemed more engrossed in their conversation.

Since last year Devin's evening antics were starting to gain him some street credit. Only problem was the credit was he was just a kid having a tantrum. His schools opinion of him was a roller coaster to say the least. Not too long ago he was the poor kid who lost his parent. Now he was the up and coming hoodlum people avoiding eye contact with and never seemed to want to walk with. Devin didn't much care. He was over the school after last year and wasn't interested. In fact the only reason he was at school was because of one thing.

Whomever was taking people and cutting off fingers needed to be stopped. If no one knew anything someone at this school underneath all the BS just might know who is doing it or be responsible. Hell would freeze over if Devin didn't try and stop it. A bloody finger isn't too far off from a bloody eye...
@Jangel13

I have a question before I start working on my post.

School Murders - Are there confirmed victims? It reads like the fingers were found, but not the owners so are there people missing (students or teachers suddenly no longer coming to school?) or is this school just got a bad case of the mutilated finger infestation (LOL)?

Meetings were how Devin spent the rest of the rehearsal time. He sat in with a few of the venues higher ups to listen to their crowd control plan and review some of the transportation details for the stars and a few odds and ends. During the whole time Eric was texting him or at one point calling him which he just ignored until after the meeting and then went and found him. He was near the stage on his laptop while also watching the rehearsal. They had reached some break or something since the twins were on stage but listening rather than practicing blocking or dancing.

He made his way over to his friend being careful to not get in the way of some of the dancers and other onstage talent. He sat down with his friend and they started talking about this and that. At one point he thought Josephine of all people had looked over at him more than normal. He brushed this thought to the side as hopefully or hormonal thinking and moved on. The topic of his current love life was where Eric had landed so he was letting himself think stupid thoughts to avoid it.

“I am just saying man we are in New York City. We gotta get a night off and take the town!” Eric said this while never looking up from his laptop.

This comment and action made Devin cross his arms and roll his eyes. “The day you give yourself a day off is the day you die Eric.” While a crazy life was lived by many only Eric was the one who seemed to constantly plan and accept chaos. While he asked a lot of everyone and seemed to never confidently know where his shoes are he worked hard and it was a big reason the two liked each other.

“Okay well what about between shows on the way to DC?” Eric asked.

“You want to go and hit on women at the airport bars at 8:30 in the morning?” Devin asked with a perhaps too loud laugh. “I admit that might be the first time we find someone married to the work…” Devin stopped himself from giving Eric and indication that he was interested in this plan. “Just keep working through everything and I am sure some dancer or singer will drag you along.” He then patted his friend on the back and left as the rehearsal wrapped up.

Walking along the bottom of the stage he passed the twins and gave them a curt nod. This earned what was an earnest nod back from Jason and a seemingly warm hello from Josephine. He then went up the stage and back behind the massive curtains where Savannah was. They said their goodbyes and a few people swapped contacts as they left the stadium and made their way to the hotel.

When his charge brought up his friends unique talent of calling on Devin to do more work he sheepishly shook his head. “I’ll deny ever saying this if you bring it up, but he doesn’t mean ill will the requests.” Devin then continued after he smiled a little. “Eric is a guy who can’t not be doing something. If it isn’t work, it was schoolwork and if it wasn’t school it was something else. Think of a workaholic and multiply it by six and you have about a tenth of his perspective and priorities.” They crossed a street with the light red and hustled to get out of the road before a car had a reason to honk.

“Think of the job as his life and when he asked for help it is you getting in invite.” “But I will likely add restaurant consultant to my billables.” He said with a tone that would have warranted a wink if he could do it.
As Rebekah Bierman tumbled into the room, she interrupted a somewhat dry story the new headmaster was telling. “Goodness my dear are you okay!” he said somewhat bewildered by the commotion. “please remember we are expected to stay upright!” Adam then, along with Devin who was closest helped her back onto her feet.

“Looking fit Rebekah.” Devin said with a smile. “Let me introduce you to the new headmaster. This is Adam Chapeau. He was just telling us about his most recent visit to Hogsmeade.” His tone was warm enough, but his face clearly showed that the story was not holding much interest. “I believe he was about to go into the candy shop.”

“Yes well I can finish that story later Professor.” Adam said still concerned with Rebekah “Let’s get you something to drink and a seat under you.” He then walked her over to the fireplace and set her down in the empty wingback chair. “Of course the ending isn’t worth skipping.” Adam then pulled out a few candies and put them on the table.

“Is this everyone or who are we missing?” Adam mused rhetorically.
Will get a part up tomorrow!
Understood.

I think my character is ready for review!

Who did the blood eye terrorist kill? Devin lost his mother to the Blood Eye Terrorist

Backstory: Devin lived a normal life until the Blood Eye Terrorist killed his mother. There was no clue as to why she was marked for death, but by the time her name came up the reality had set in and people knew what it meant. Still the family did everything they could, but his mother was a proud woman, and more than that a mother. The idea of any harm coming to her family made her flee in the middle of the night. Three days later her body was found in a hotel two towns over in the same bloody style just like the others had.

Devin was never given any real time to grieve. With his father needing to work to keep them going it fell on Devin to suddenly grow up and become a parent all at once. He loved his family, but at times he felt completely trapped and as that feeling continued to weigh on him Devin lashed out at anything that he felt could lessen the burden.

As soon as his little sister was old enough Devin started to go out at night. At first it was just the freedom of escape and chance to not have anyone needing or expecting anything. Soon enough it started to turn into going out and looking for trouble. A fight he could win or a fight he could lose it didn't make much difference to him.

Eventually his reputation earned himself a breath of influence and the fights started to seem stagnant. Thankfully while respected he wasn't feared at school. With him having to repeat a year due to missing so much time during everything with his family he is now somehow seeing and looking beyond high school and to either college or another opportunity.

If Devin didn't know any better he would have thought his phone was broken, but instead it was his sense of fashion that was damaged. For the last thirty minutes he had been trying to figure out what to wear to the The Great Bash. Using the Color ID app on his phone he quickly realized just how lacking in the fashion department he had let himself slide. Every shirt he owned was either white or black it seemed and since he was now back on campus his selection was limited to what he had packed and brought with him on the flight over. Originally he had thought about asking his friends back home to help curate an outfit, but he was somewhat embarrassed to explain his decision to attend.

"Google, open Be My Eyes App" Devin said throwing the most recent black shirt into the color identified pile. It was time to just call in reinforcements instead of trying to doing this himself. The app asked him if he needed immediate help or specialized assistance. He spoke clearly and replied with the keywords involving selecting clothing and a male assistant. Considering he was in his underwear he was pretty sure he could be kicked off if he requested a woman. Though that was perhaps a better opinion? He listened as the phone rang and a few moments later a person picked up.

"Hello my name is Charles. It says here that you are looking for help with an outfit is that correct?" The man on the call sounded older which concerned Devin somewhat, but he couldn't well just hang up after calling. Considering he wasn't going to ask the man to dress him and instead go with what the sales person mentioned to him earlier at the airport where he bought the new jacket.

"Yes I am looking for help with an outfit. I am looking for my grey shirt. I believe I packed it, but I can't locate it." Devin then, perhaps in an act of impatience. Spun his phone along his room where he had been unpacking. "I am looking for a grey t-shirt. I haven't been able to locate it. Can you see it?"

It took a moment for Charles to reply. "Yes it looks like two grey shirts are in the pile of shirts to the right of where you put your luggage bag. One is grey with some white speckled and the other is a graphic t-shirt with a grey color backdrop." His tone was cheerful and after he asked if there was anything else he could help with. Devin was at this point just revealed and after grabbing the shirt from the unknown pile he put the shirt on his bed along with the pants and belt. "Happy to help you Devin. Have a good time."

Once the call was done Devin was facing the right direction and felt it. He took time and repacked his clothes making up his mind to fully unpack tomorrow morning. He grabbed his towel, and made his way to the shower and after getting himself clean he dried off and got dressed for The Big Bash. His outfit was somewhat simple with a single statement item which was the yellow jacket. The jacket was a departure from his normal hoodie and jeans look. He had purchased it somewhat impulsively, but after he put it on and gave himself a quick pat down he felt good about the move. It was a tighter layer than a comfy hoodie, but that lent itself to making Devin feel 'cooler'. As if his posture was more flexed and impressive. With one more check to make sure he had everything he needed (wallet, sunglasses, cell phone, keys, and cane) Devin left his apartment and headed out into the world to find some dinner. His heart was set on Dino's Cafe which he hadn't had all summer.

Dino's Cafe was a hole in the wall spot that featured all things Italian food. Earning its stripes in Boston the family owned eatery moved to Meadow View years before Devin arrived. Devin was personally convinced that Italian food is the greatest gift to college students. Every bachelor pad anywhere would always have at least two kinds of pasta and four kinds of sauce in the kitchen. Pizza was the national dish of choice for those age 10 to 22, and you never could beat the price. Cheap, quick, easy, and good. All these lent themselves to his lifestyle and considering food wasn't nearly as important as other things to him Devin loved Dino's. Specifically the Meatball sub. Normally this would be a very risky play considering how he was about to go out and the meatball sub was a messy order, but Devin was feeling good and walking like he knew it. The small tap of his cane rang out just a little lighter and his stride seemed just a little more effortless.

A relaxed Devin made his way to the restaurant after about a fifteen minute walk off campus. When he opened the door to the restaurant he was greeted with a friendly cry from behind the register. "Devin!" Shouted a short but gruff man. Dino had come to know his regulars and Devin was one he liked. "Good to see you again my friend." he added and then shouted to the kitchen behind him "ONE SUB MEATBALL".

This made Devin smile as he gave Dino the details of his summer. The two shared a few stories and then Dino arrived with the sandwich and set it in a table for Devin to enjoy. The meal was everything Devin had wanted it to be. It was filling, delicious, and surprisingly not that messy. With his stomach full and his spirits riding high Devin left Dino's in search of the other spirits. He knew plenty would be flowing at the party tonight, but he wasn't going to show up empty handed. Getting his phone out and using the voice command he called his friend with a car and started getting his plan together for getting to the party.

"Hey it is Devin... Yep I am outside Dino's with cash in hand."
