Michael was sitting in the waiting room with his leg bouncing up and down like a jacked up kangaroo. He wasn’t always the best with hospitals. Bad memories start to creep into his mind and he was even worst at pushing them away. A woman sitting nearby glanced back at Michael and gave him a look that warranted some sort of response. “It’s been a sort of crazy night.” He said and then looked away.

He couldn’t stop his eyes from rolling. After all what he just said was likely now in the running for biggest understatement of the year. The last several hours were spent at the hospital, but it was the 20 minutes before those long hours that were some of the most horrifyingly exciting moments of his young life.

When he had gotten to the café the several regulars all greeted him with a smile. It was a hidden gem of a café which had amazing service provided by the two staffers. They were both more than competent and Michael wasn’t oblivious to how cute they both were. Still he liked them more for their ability to handle the eccentric clientele more than their looks.

His regular spot next to the window was open so he plopped down and pulled his laptop out. From there he started his normal routine of grading papers and winding down from the night at the club. A cup of hot chocolate found its way over to his table no more than a minute later. It was his regular order and they always treated him well. Michael was somewhat confident that one of the baristas had a crush on him.

Later on in the night was when it got hectic. One minute everything was pretty normal. Quiet in the café with a drunk or two walking past shouting about how amazing the world is. The next minute a somewhat sizable explosion rocked the second floor of the building across the street. The resulting panic was what you would expect. Most people in the café went outside to see what was going on while Michael went to check on his scooter which was parked under the building. As he did this someone asked for him to help.

Before he realized it he was running up the stairs following someone shouting about helping people get out. Looking back at this Michael could see as plain as day just how stupid this choice was. Still the results made it clear it was the right one. Upon getting to the second floor he found Ashley Deblin lying on the ground near what looked to be a blown out part of the wall. Rushing over Michael could already hear the sound of sirens getting close.

He opted to stay with Ashley while the paramedic started to work on her. He wasn’t sure what happened, but he might have lied and said he was someone closer to her because a few moments later he was in the ambulance with her to the hospital. There he waited while the doctors did whatever it was they did. He spent most of the time thinking about his past times in hospitals as well as the whole experience of tonight.

When that got to be a bit much he tried to pull his attention to something else and that led to him thinking about Ashley. He had only know her for a few months but she had made an impression. He was sure that was something she had a habit of doing, and it wasn’t just because of her red hair. She seemed wicked smart and also wholly witty with plenty of personality. The only thing that wasn’t really clear was where she spends all her time. Outside of her vital responsibilities at the university no one really saw a lot of her.

“Michael was it?” A person said after coming out of the back hallway. This had the man stand up and look to the person for an update on Ashley’s condition. “Firstly I want to say that overall she is okay. The paramedics were able to see that there was no major damage and that she is going to make a recovery over the next several days.” The doctor then looked back and asked if Michael wanted to go and visit. He simply nodded in response and followed them into the back rooms.

After walking into the room Michael felt a wave of awkwardness fill his entire brain. What was he actually doing here now? He knew Ashley was okay and that was more or less the main reason he was in the waiting room. He could have just been happy with that and then left. Still there he was standing in the room with Ashley looking like she had just had an even more dangerously exciting night than Michael.

Completely put on the spot and having no idea what he should do Michael did what he always did in awkward situations and deflected with humor. “So when people say they are going to blow it up in all the dance songs I don’t think the slang means to do so literally.” He then scratched the back of his neck and then gave a sort of personal laugh to the joke. “Good to see you awake Ashley.” Michael added after a brief pause.
It was normal for Jake to be out on patrol during a week night, but this evening felt a little different than the others. Instead of the normal cool crisp air there was an almost muggy warmth to the breeze. Thankfully instead of having to seek out some air conditioned space Jake had the best answer in town. Moving closer to the edge of the apartment building he leaned forward and fell off the edge of the 50 story high rise. As he fell he reached out and with a flick of his write activated his webbing which latched onto a nearby building and propelled him into a swinging arc down the street. The speed brought the muggy breeze into the world of brisk chill. The whole thing accompanied by a rather energetic outburst from Jake.

Moving through the streets at an unprecedented speed considering the traffic Jake had already mapped out his route and within ten minutes was across downtown in the diamond district. A series of crimes had made this area top the charts of possible crime areas according to his computer assistant as well as also became a likely place to be hit by a new player. The newspapers had half a dozen different names for the thief, but most of the city was just calling her the modern day Robin Hood. Normally a hero the thefts the perpetrator had been doing involved some highly skilled hacking as well as several other skills that M.A.R.Y. deemed a possible threat to her and the local police services.

'Basically I am taking orders from a microwave.' Jake whispered to himself. The problem was that he wasn't by himself which was obvious after his earpiece began to talk back with a nearly feminine mechanical voice.

"Jake I assure you I have you on multiple cameras. I am with you." the voice said. Her name was M.A.R.Y. Jake had heard it explained to him what the letters stood for, but could never remember them. Plus he doubted he had enough breath to say the name quick enough. Either way she was more or less the brains of the whole operation he had cooked up. Which was good considering he was nowhere near smart enough to have dived into DNA splicing which resulted in his superhuman abilities.

"You have no idea how comfortable that makes me MARY." Jake said with a sarcastic tone. Thankfully it was something she couldn't recognize yet so she simply reassured him again and then fell silent. As he continued to swing from building to building he ordered his mp3 to start playing music. He rarely patrolled without some musical assistance. Tonight he decided on a Dance / Latin Pop playlist he found on the internet. It put a kick in his swing as he reached his destination. MARY also interrupted him singing along to play GPS assistance to the obvious.

"You are looking for violent crimes or a hooded figure with black themed attire." MARY added.

"You basically described probable cause in fashion terms." Jake said with a laugh. "She must be a heck of a looker..." He muttered which once again prompted her to speak.

"Several people in multiple reports have described the persons body as likely female with..." The pause made it possible to practically hear calculations going through the processors. "Several have possibly confirmed she was very attractive...Will this be a problem?" Jake laughed a little before asking her to clarify what she meant. "I saw in your online journal that 10 years ago you repeatably stated that you would do anything to be with a beautiful woman."

"I was 14 years old!" Jake shouted. He was about to continue to voice a defense; however, he was cut short by MARY who stated she had detected a security system disabling software attack. She gave Jake directions to blocks north and he jumped into action shooting a web and swinging the two blocks silently. When he reached the roof he spotted a body walking down the street. MARY confirmed that there was an over 90 percent possibility that it was the person who had hacked some of the diamond exchange security.

Swinging down and landing on the sidewalk he wasn't sure how to approach the person so with a somewhat awkward clearing of the throat he stood there. "You know wearing all black makes you hard to see right?" He finally said after he looked her up and down. He stood somewhat confident even though he was wearing a very similar outfit only it was black and red instead with his hero logo of a extended spider on his chest.

Michael saw the thumbs up from the manager as the opening DJ started to settle his tracks and pack up. The overhead music played a standard Euro-House music as the dance floor started to clear as people took the break to go to the bathroom or bar to get a new drink. The set up on his end was already mostly done so the thumbs up was simply a signal that he could get started whenever he wanted. Considering how many times he had done this the signal might have been a gunshot for the beginning of a race. No more than twenty seconds later Michael had his laptop up in front and his new tracks loaded and ready for the crowd.

He pressed enter and as the track began to pick up the whole club seemed to explode. It didn't take long for people to realize who was turning the tables and like a wildfire the crowd again jumped to the dance floor. Over the past several years Michael had become one of the most sought after DJ's in the greater Florida club scene. He was constantly being asked to move on to bigger and larger stages; however, to him the tables were a place to relax and not a place where money and fame were achieved. He started doing it at his high school radio station where he fell in love with making music. From there it was amature gigs and plenty of work to get where he was now. Still it wasn't the only thing that was his identity. In 12 hours he was supposed to teach a class section at university of Miami where he was studying Archaeology as a grad student.

The music was now completely encompassing the club. The heat of the dance floor proving to Michael that his music was being enjoyed, experienced, and electrifying the club. The night continued as more came to dance. Everyone had already texted, tweeted, and posted about Michael being at club Fayth. If Michael was outside he would see a long almost a block long with people still lining up to get in. When the night started to come to a close Michael stepped down from the stage when the climax of his track was hitting. It made it so few saw him leave as he went to the club owner. The two were friends as they shared a few jokes while walking to the rear exit. "A good night. Seems to me that exclusive rights to your shows would be worth a lot of money."

While he was friends with the owner Michael was getting tired of him constantly trying to anchor him into a exclusive performance contract. "You're like a broken record Sam. Something I don't work well with. Just give it a rest. I already spin at your place twice as much as I do anywhere else. You see a jump in numbers for a week after I spin here so I think you will do alright. You own almost ever hot club in the city." Michael was now back in a hallway with Sam who was walking with him along the VIP section of the back area. Opening the door and seeing his scooter right where he left it Michael put his helmet on and said his goodbye to Sam. The drive was no more than ten minutes as Michael lived in the warehouse district which was heavily populated with clubs and a vibrate party scene. It was also right near an amazing cafe that was perfect for any grad student who had a half dozen papers to grade before Tuesday.

WT is a pretty standard wallflower. He works at a university as a communications grad student focusing on news media. The work is demanding and has left him with little free time. That all changes when it gets to the weekend nights. Then he becomes one of the worlds foremost music DJ's in the nation. Spinning new tracks nearly every weekend he gets a kick out of the whole scene. He likes his duel world. So what happens when (Fauxtrot), a spy, needs the access WT's character can provide? Add in a few crushes start to happen? Mix in the fact that finds himself liking her, but with him being a grad student with time only for DJ and school how is it going to play out?

I have a hankering for a good old fashion 1x1 role play. I am in two group stories and they are moving at the speed of a passive aggressive comeback. So to keep my skills in check I thought I would walk over to this section of the Role Play kingdom and see if any of my ideas catch anyone's interest. Below you can find short summaries of the plots I would like to explore. For all these stories Character A would be played by me and be male. Character B would be played by you and would be Female. For the most part they are the same, but with different paint jobs.

Rich Kids

Character A is a smart kid from a rich family. Character B is a smart kid from a rich family. What separates them is what they do at night. Character A has taken on the mantel of a vigilante. Using his fathers inventions and some advanced AI he has started to make a name for himself. Character B has also been breaking the law; however, her goals are more along the revenge path. Her family was recently ruined by a massive Wall Street scandal. Her skills have seemingly groomed her into a perfect cat bugler as she gets revenge on the white collar criminals of the city. One night her actions put her in the cross hairs of Character A. What happens next is up to the role play.

Cop & Thief

Character A is a detective who has been assigned to catch an art thief who has been stealing from private collectors and museums around the city. They have become more and more daring with the criminal being called Midnight due to their ability to finish the job before the stroke of midnight. Character B will play Midnight who the world famous thief. In reality she is on a personal mission to return art that was stolen during WWII and return it to its rightful owners. She is in the new city to steal several works of art and has just moved into a new building with a cute cop as her neighbor. That neighbor just happens to be Character A. What happens next is up to the role play.

Record Holder

Character A is a pretty standard wallflower. So what happens when Character B, a super heroin, starts crushing on his DJ persona? Mix in the fact that he likes her, but as the fun and energetic grad student at the same university? Well grab this role play and lets find out.

Please feel free to ask any questions that you may have. If you want to chance one of the above ideas please share the change. I am not glued to these working out a specific way so when I say lets find out I mean it. I would like someone who is able to post regularly and possible often as I have a bit of free time. My regular length of posts are around 300 words and would like a partner who is around the same length as me. That doesn't mean ever post has to be that long, but it should be a common goal for both of us.

Hope you are reading this with happy and healthy as your current status.

Anyone who wants to have their character be staying at the Bed and Breakfast I mention in my new post feel free to do so. I thought it would be a good way for my character to really meet and spend time with some of the actors as I might not have the same opportunity as some of the other positions in the role play.

Now perhaps we can have people actually post?
If people want this to survive we will need to do cowritten posts most likely for any sort of conversation beyond a few words. Would like someone to engage Arn as I am going to be online for a few hours now and will be able to work on a post.
A well planned airport was a true modern marvel to Jake. He had spent enough time in every type that he could always tell how good an experience was going to be simply from how the flight attendant said their goodbyes when he exited the plane. Sadly, another lesson he learned was LAX was never a good place to be. The monstrosity that was the Los Angeles International Airport was a congested, disorganized, eyesore of a view. Sadly it was also one of the airports Jake had to spend the most time in.

Leaving the exit checkpoint behind him he tucked his passport into his jacket pocket and walked past the food court. He leaned against a post and hailed a taxi while letting out a long stressed out sigh. The flight from New York was a long one and had taxed his energy levels. As a cab pulled up and he started to load himself into the back he checked his watch. “Let’s make it home then work.” He said with a lighter tone. He wasn’t due to show up till 4 so he had time to clean himself up. “First impressions in this city are everything.”

Twenty minutes later he was stuck in traffic and his eyes continued to dart to his watch. “I see I was being an optimistic.” He said with a heavy tone. Jake then gave the address to the studio where the cast was meeting for the scripts first read through. There was a small bed and breakfast nearby and he knew the owner. A shower and a clean pair of clothes was still an option. Another twenty minutes and he was barely out of the cab and in the shower.

Now dressed it what could be described as his uniform of sorts he was showered and shaved. He thanked his old friends, a nice elderly couple who had been running the B and B since before Jake was born. The large room in the main floor had pictures of all the famous people they had housed in the past. It’s distance from the studio and the privacy granted by the well kept garden made it a popular place for celebrities even today.

“Thanks. I owe you for this one Henry.” Jake said as he saw the couple in the kitchen. They seemed to be cleaning up after a lunch. Jake was happy to see several seats at the table had been occupied meaning they had a nearly full booking. “Seems you have some guests. Sorry to intrude.” He added as he started to collect his bag and leave. He was stopped by Mary who had a look that Jake was all too familiar with.

“Young man if you think you are getting that shower for free you have another thing coming.” Her tone was that of a mother about to start a guilt trip. “You will leave your bags here and join us for dinner. I won’t here a word of protest. You haven’t come to see us in almost two months and you promised to suffer through more of Henry’s stories and my cooking.” Mary then firmly set Jake's bags back down and gave him a look that would make a dictator uneasy. “Besides I am sure you are here for that big movie they are starting and as it happens several of our guests are involved in it as well.”

Jake was never one to argue at an opportunity for a home cooked meal. Especially when it came to Mary’s cooking. He gave a chagrinned look and nodded. “I’ll be here for dinner Mary. Can’t promise that any of your famous tenets will be able to join us though. They often have more than a few groups bidding for their attention.” He then paused as Mary straightened his collar out of habit. “Alright now you are just making me self conscious.” He added as Henry told Mary to stop and the two started to cheerfully bicker.

Jake walked the long dead-end street back to the main road and then crossed the street to the studio complex. He flashed his access badge to the guard at the gate and then hailed a small golf cart to drive him to the building on the east corner. Looking again at his watch with a happy smile he walked into the room a good 20 minutes early. A table with some food and drinks could be seen laid out along a wall with another table holding a large collection of name tags. A minute of looking and Jake found his and firmly slapped it on his old travel shirt.
So is anyone planning to post?
