Ophelia’s voice has a small New York accent, somewhat of a soothing tone typically. She walks with her head down, hands in her pockets of the jacket she wears commonly. It is a green jacket that keeps her rather warm, although it is more or less only there for fashion. With Pyrokinesis she is able to adequately control her body temperature as long as she keeps a small amount of focus on it. As such she can often been seen wearing much less clothing than others when the temperature calls for it. 

Ophelia usually dresses in comfortable clothing, leggings, sweaters and sweatpants are typical for her. She finds herself typically laughing a lot in conversations, smiling frequently though there has been somewhat less of that since seeing her parents…

Ophelia has pale blue eyes that reflect her light ginger hair. When she utilizes her abilities her eyes glow a luminescent yellow and her hair begins to levitate, apparently that's normal for kinetics. Her face is often a confident and reserved expression, especially since running away. As one of the older children she's one of the more likely kids to get tackled if recognized so she tends to keep her head down nowadays. Once they got to the motel she immediately took up getting odd jobs, currently she is just doing cleaning for the motel.

Ophelia always attempts to be kind. She finds herself developing crushes rather quickly and she is prone to caring about people too much. Case in point, her love for her parents did not allow her to see who they really were. Another time, she fell for a girl who was known for being a bit… Rude. That didn’t work out too well. Now that she is on the run with these other children of criminals – all of whom are in the same criminal syndicate – she has taken to adopting a somewhat motherly persona around them. Making sure they are taking care of themselves and taking nearly every driving shift – even though it has been mentally and emotionally exhausting for her. She tends to avoid clashing with people, even the more rebellious members of the group as she is well aware that as soon as they begin to single out each other their parents will win.

She finds her parents betrayal deeply saddening, while she was suspicious of them for a large part of her life - she never expected something like this. However, one of the reasons she is so upset is she is well aware that her parents have fully and completely betrayed her. There is nothing like thinking your parents serve as a beacon of light in a noticeably dark corridor until you find out that hope they delivered unto you and their city was false. She has no intention of ever returning to her parents and is willing to support each and every other Runaway in order to make sure they feel comfortable enough to make the same choice.  

When she cares for someone, or falls for them and she finds out they feel the same way she is completely passionate about it. However, while that may be the most obvious outlet for her passion there is passion in almost everything she does. She cares for the other Runaways with a passion that one would only find in a mother bear, she also tends to have a completely dominating drive to complete things she has started. And now that she has set out on the road to stopping her parents from doing what they are doing – there may be no stopping her outside of death. Outside of the serious topics Ophelia finds herself to be somewhat of a 'suck'. She likes cute acts of affection, small animals and babies and tends to find even the most encyclopedic novel a half decent read. As such she is constantly and consistently pushing herself to get out there more.

Taking seven other children on a life or death road trip hadn't been the first thought on her mind for that.

| History |

Ophelia knew she was different since her fifth birthday party when her powers manifested for the first time. They told her to blow out the candles and when she attempted to, the house burned down. She was taught primarily by her father how to control her abilities. Which muscles were her human ones and which was the mutation that could burn a house down. She was adept enough in her mutation, enough to typically be able to control it. While her parents had to pass off the idea that they were just clumsy and that fires were common place in their home. Sometimes when she would awake from nightmares the house would be on fire, sometimes even just when she was reading in the living room with her parents. Perhaps that was some sort of sixth sense. It always seemed like there were hiding something but Ophelia always assumed it had just been about a case. 

Ophelia and her parents had a good enough relationship. She assumed that they were hiding something, but nothing close to the truth. She was sent to a private school, where she was enrolled in physical education, biology and a few mandatory courses. She was a good student and she had a good rapport with many of the other students. Which has made her disappearance all the more difficult, if for no reason than because she has been sought after by many of her old friends posting on social media. Ophelia was no prom queen, but she was popular enough as It was. 

Ophelia was given a car not even a month before she made her escape with the others. That would become a huge benefit as they would be living in the small vehicle for the next while. It was a Jeep Wrangler, which made space somewhat of a issue – but no one complained.

| Cordelia Beauregard |

A Mutant as well, Cordelia typically referred to as Cory, is the captain of the N.Y.P.D.’s 13th precinct. Her specific mutation allows her to adopt perfect muscle memory. She can perform any physical action she sees as long as her body is capable of performing it. Thusly, a gymnast who has trained for a multitude of years could have her exact poise and form replicated by Cory quite easily. She is an incredibly powerful woman in New York and while Ophelia is still trying to figure out the depths of her control on the city. But as a captain of a precinct – she possesses large amounts of power politically in New York.

Roll in the Syndicate: Cordelia is a woman on a rampage. She is typically sent by either George or Regina when something isn't going someone's way. She also often times serves as the Syndicates first line of defense, like a bodyguard. This is often acted out for George as he tends to be one of the more poetic members of the syndicate - often times asking for things before taking them. She also plays a large role in their cover. They are prominent members of New York society, her and her husband. As such they are often all seen at gala's, invited to White House dinners that sort of thing. While she isn't the only one with leverage in New York her and Luke perhaps have the most pull on the middle to lower class. They 'put their lives on the line' with each and every other cop, though they have more control of these situations than one may know. Because of this the Syndicate's pull on New York and The United States in general is nearly unfathomable. They not only have the higher-ups but the schmucks working for them too.

| Lucas Beauregard |

Another Mutant, Lucas who is referred to as Luke is the N.Y.P.D.’s 7th Precinct captain. Sharing a similar status with his wife set up very specific goals for their daughter, ones that she didn’t quite fill out. While she was on track to become a police officer an unfortunate incident has pushed that back somewhat. Luke’s mutation allows him to move objects with his mind often known as telekinesis and while he has shown some talent in telepathy (that made Ophelia’s life incredibly hard growing up) he is not as adept with it. His talent with telekinesis is incredible, able to avoid bullets by pushing them with his mind and make it seem normal.

Roll in the Syndicate: Every once in a while, in fact quite commonly the syndicate needs something very overt done with incredible subtlety. This is where Luke comes in. Like a hitman who never has to enter the building of his mark, Luke has framed gas explosions, brake failures and much more elaborate murders through the use of his telepathy. One that he was rather proud of involved a firing range accident that he was a witness to. Of course his finger prints were not on the guns whatsoever and he was cleared of any suspicion. Luke is truly a terrifying force to be reckoned with and has some of the most daunting mental and physical prowess of the entire syndicate. He is also trained with weaponry and self defense should the need arise, seeing as he is a captain of an N.Y.P.D. precinct. Together with his wife he provides a perfect key into the hearts and minds of America, an all American family losing their daughter to corruption and kidnapping. Woe is he.

| Abilities |

Ophelia is able to control fire through Pyrokinesis. While she is currently very bad at creating fire, it is something she may one day be able to do. She has created fire in drastic moments or times of high emotional stress which has itself created doubt in her own abilities. However, what she can - comfortably do is control fire when it is presented to her and even multiply the amount of fire present at any given time. This means that a small spark could quite easily turn into a forest fire. Ophelia's largest weakness when it comes to Pyrokinesis is twofold. Primarily, it is hard for her to control what does and does not catch fire as it would require her to shift her focus onto multiple things. 

To explain, if Ophelia were to throw a ball of fire towards an aggressor, his shirt or perhaps some dead grass could catch fire. While Ophelia is now capable of putting that fire out, it would mean that she would have to stop focusing on the fireball she had initially thrown. This may cause the inital fire to fizzle out of it is in the air - or if it is near something flammable it could begin to rage.

Ophelia has been going by Lia ever since running away – not too many people have the name Ophelia. She carries with her an N.Y.P.D. Lighter in case of emergencies, it is a zippo.

Tish
“With her big black boots, long brown hair”
"Tish is between a rock and a hard place. On one hand her relationship with her parents wasn’t the greatest, on the other what happened, happened. I honestly don’t know how she’s taking it."

Tish is wonderful to have around, she’s the heart of our group without a doubt. Always willing to spill into anecdotes about one thing or another, sometimes talking about the clouds – other times starting up games of Eye Spy on the road. She’s important to us. I don’t think she likes it when I become all rulesey and whatnot, but I guess she probably respects the situation enough. I remembered once we got to the hotel and I saw some amount of normalcy that her birthday is coming up. I’m going to do something for her, maybe get her something – I think that’s important to keep that level of connection.

She’s ridiculously useful though. Being a shapeshifter couldn’t be more relevant when you’re out on the run. We have to use her for the most part – going through motel officials stuff like that. But I haven’t been recognized just yet, all things considered I’m pretty lucky for that. Still, I’m going to get her a birthday present myself – I really think it’s important for her to know that we really appreciate her there.

Luckily she hasn’t had to see my… Fiery side I guess? I’m really awful at this kind of thing. I’m… More than a little worried about what everyone is going to think. I don’t know what they know already about my abilities but I haven’t say anything really. I don’t plan on it. I really don’t know how they’re going to react but usually when you find out you ran away with a mutant you call a hotline or something. I don’t know. Maybe I’m overthinking it.

I guess it helps that she’s cute. I don’t know though, I can’t afford to start developing one-sided crushes right now. I have seven other people to look after and I’ll rot in hell before anyone touches a goddam hair on her, I mean.. Their head. So I don’t think I have any time. Nor do I think she would have any reason to be interested either, I mean Jesus I must be a mess. Still, I doubt I’m ever going to meet someone who knows what I’m going through better than her – so there is that. God I need to stop talking.

Andy
 “And I told you to be patient, and I told you to be fine, and I told you to be balanced, and I told you to be kind.”
"Andy is a huge help. The guy is a genius so it’s really nice having someone to help me keep everyone on the up and up sometimes. Sometimes he can come across as the generic smart kid in the Jeep when he starts a monologue about something he saw in the distance or something he had heard. But he’s a really nice guy, from someone who knows what it feels like – he cares a lot. It’s nice."

Andy is impossibly helpful when it comes to the other kids. I still don’t even know what I’d do without him there. We kind of act as a unit, like the gay parents of this ragtag group of people. If I’m not mistaken we’re the ones who supposedly kidnapped the rest of the kids so that should mean that we’re basically responsible for what happens to them.

As stupidly obvious as it sounds, I think he’s taking this whole thing pretty poorly. I mean, don’t get me wrong – so am I. But, I think I’ve accepted it. I don’t know. You catch people in their silences though and I know how much he must be hurting. I think I should do something for him soon. I’ll have to figure out what he’d like. Something that would cheer him up just a little bit. I have noticed something a little strange though. Talking to him is kind of like talking to a cop. He feels like he’s leading you a little in conversations, but its not quite the same. Whereas a cop will definitely lead you where they need you to go – he kind of leads you where he think you might want to go? It’s hard to tell. But I’ve noticed it.

Other than that it’s been nice. He’s been riding shotgun with me, I don’t mind to take his driving shifts over – originally we were going to swap, but he was as pale as a ghost when I handed him the keys so I just kept driving. I don’t mind though, highways have a certain sense of beauty about them and he keeps me awake with quiet conversation. 
“And in the morning I’ll be with you, but it will be a different kind and I’ll be holding all the tickets, and you’ll be owning all the fines.”

Jay
“My father was a gamblin’ man, down in New Orleans.”
"What can I say about Jay that he hasn’t said about himself? Really though, he’s a great joy to be around which is nice all things considered. Always cracking jokes and easy to talk to about anything. What I kind of took away from when we first decided to run away was that in that moment Jay made a decision to stick with the rest of us for the rest of his life."

Jay makes running away from everything you know a whole hell of a lot easier. When you’ve got someone who is as incredibly loyal as Jay is, which is to say he’s loyal to a fault, it makes it so much easier. He’s funny, when he’s awake while we’re driving he’s awake and he’s talking and making jokes singing along with songs, and then in an instant – he’s out cold. It’s kind of adorable if I’m being honest.

He kind of reminds me a little of an idealist form of myself. So confident and comfortable with what he’s doing at any given moment. Don’t get me wrong I’m doing everything anyways, but it almost feels like he feels as comfortable running away as he does watching Sunday morning cartoons in his PJ’s. His birthday is coming along pretty soon, February 18th. I wrote them all down before we left. I’m not really sure why, it just felt important to me that we make sure to not forget to enjoy our lives. As soon as our parents manage to take joy from us, that’s when we lose and they win. I think that’s why Jay is so important.

He’s the smile of this group. For a kid that seems to channel his inner anarchist he sure does have a lot of love for this world in general.

Amelia

“Amelia is like my little sister. Even though we only became that way a couple days ago she’s braided my hair at least three times since we began the road trip and she’s always so full of… Life. It’s really wonderful, she’s just wonderful.”

In all honesty Mia is a huge part of the reason I’m able to keep going. She kind of inspires you to take of her in a way, you spend five minutes with the hyperactive ball of goofiness and you just want to see her through this mess. Make sure she has a new home and she isn’t hurt anymore. I’ve seen her take some medication a few times that is kind of worrisome, I’m not sure we’ll be able to get her anymore when she runs out. I’ve been thinking about that a lot. I’m going to have to find out what kind of medication it is and see what I can do. I don’t want to have to rob a pharmacy… But maybe I can get Tish to do it.

I think that Mia is probably one of the more innocent members of the team, save for Malcolm obviously. She, Tish and Malcolm are the three youngest and have been painted as the kidnapping victims as kidnapped by Glo, Andy and myself. Not sure where that puts Jay but I guess we kidnapped him too. She’s a human from what I know sot that means she can’t really contribute to defending everyone but I wouldn’t want her to either way. I can’t even imagine letting her stand up against our parents before I do. But, at the same time, I really don’t want anyone to know about my abilities. Especially her. I don’t know why but I think she’s started to kind of look up to me.

People don’t look up to people who can mould fires with their minds. Might make her think twice about the burn marks on me.

I guess you could say that in a way Mia is the fuel for our team. She’s always singing along with the radio and swearing up a storm talking about how goddam much she’s craving some fucking chocolate. Stuff like that. But I think she’s just looking for a rise out of me. She has a kinda… Curvy figure, I try to ignore, she’s way younger than me. I don’t have curves like that goddammit. 

Ah well. I love her voice, southern accents are wonderful.
“Eh bien chéri, prends donc la porte car tu said que plus rien ne me va – Really dear, take the door therefore because you know that nothing goes with me anymore.”

Malcolm
 “There’s faith, and there’s sleep. We need to pick one please”
“Malcolm’s situation is really hard. He’s one of our youngest, constantly apologies – the guy’s whole world has crashed around him and now he’s running from it. It’s just a really, really tough situation.”

On one hand, Malcolm is definitely the nicest member of our group and has a really strong sense of what’s right at what time. But on the other hand, he folds in on himself, his smile his as reflexive as his eyes and he seems incredibly self-aware. You catch these looks of self-chastising in the rearview mirror that I’m pretty sure don’t come out when we’re talking face to face. Because of this I try to throw him a bone every so often, give him the choice of music, small stuff. There’s not much you can do while you’re on the road unfortunately but I try to do it anyway. 

He’s actually really kind and somewhat charming though, he’s got this real sense of loyalty that kind of just goes unspoken. Of course, you feel the loyal part of people in times like this, but it’s still reassuring to feel it all the same. I haven’t had to use my abilities since we’ve been on the road but at one point on New Year’s Day where we were making considerably less progress – most likely because of traffic I caught him looking at one of the burns on the back of my neck. He wasn’t judging me or anything like that, but it seemed to bug him a lot.

While I don’t think that Malcolm would ever suggest the idea of stopping our parents from doing… Whatever the hell they’re trying to do to the world, I don’t doubt that he’d be the first to agree with the plan. I really don’t.

Gloria

 “Nothing beats Glo’s cooking after a long day on a shitt- sorry crappy road. It’s weird that a lot of the others think of me as a motherly kind of figure when she’s so motherly herself. I think some people think she’s rude or something like that? To me she kind of just comes across as really sure of herself, of her point of view. We need that now more than ever.” 

If there was ever a more helpful person in existence than Gloria, they would be heralded as a lord and savior. While friendship with Gloria has a bit of a learning curve, and it is steep – but so incredibly worth it. It would be difficult for someone to find a more loyal person to befriend. Though I have to admit, I’ve been staring a little too much. She’s just absolutely beautiful, she has this sort of thing about her that’s so natural and effortlessly wonderful. I’d like to spend some time with her but I don’t want to bug her. She’s only a year younger than me but for sometimes I still feel like it’s my job to look after her. After all, I found the dossiers and if I didn’t she’d be with her family and her family was close.

She’s pretty fond of the jeep, which is pretty sweet. When we first set out she was always asking questions about it and taking a look underneath the hood. I actually already miss that, it gave me something to talk to her about. That’s probably the worst part of this whole situation. We all have something in common with each other, but it’s our parents. No one wants to talk about that. She seems to respect the fact that I’ve taken a small job cleaning in the motel, I get the feeling she might try to find a job as well but honestly I’m not sure.

What I do know is that she takes pretty great pictures with her Polaroid. She’s always got it on her so that’s been a nice distraction, looking over any photos she’s taken so far. I should probably get her some film soon. She has this really cool accent, though I guess she probably doesn’t like it as she doesn’t enjoy speaking English very much. 

I think Glo is easily one of the most interesting people I’ve ever had the pleasure to talk to though. I really have a great time when we’re chatting in the motel or driving on the highway.

Cody
 “Hold, hold on, hold onto me ‘cause I’m a little unsteady, a little unsteady.”
Cody is strange in the way that he’s completely normal and at the exact same time very abnormal. He owns a ton of plain sweatshirts and jackets and graphic tees most of which are blue and from what I know about his at home life it was good but not great. But if he knows something is wrong he will fight it and be rather immovable on the subject. That’s rare, and I really appreciate it about him.

Cody can be a little uneasy sometimes, we haven’t fought much but at the beginning when something got heated he was kind of the mediator of those arguments. Other than that though it’s actually pretty rare to hear him speak up. That doesn’t mean he isn’t listening though, he’s keen on making sure he can do just as much as anyone else and help out when I or anyone else needs it, he’s just a little more introverted. In the same way, he looks like he could be any of our little brother. Whether it’s the physique – though he’s taller than me, or it’s his warm gentle demeanor – I’m not sure.

Cody and I have yet to talk as much as I’d like. He doesn’t like not having a plan and he seems to appreciate the idea that I knew exactly the motel I was taking everyone to and the amount of time it would take for us to get there, how many days I’d have to drive for and how long each of those sprints would be. I’m glad to have his support, but I feel like if I had just randomly decided on a motel he would’ve definitely objected and told me to look at more than just one It’s good to have someone like that though, It makes sure that even in the worst situations you won’t make too many mistakes.

I think his abilities must be pretty difficult to deal with. I mean, I haven’t slept much at all recently because I’m afraid I’m going to burn down the motel, but he could be walking down the street and just collapse. Glo carried him in her purse once. That was strange to see, let alone think of so quickly. Overall, I think Cody is a great addition to our little crew. Not only he does he bring consistently good morals to the table but he’s actually pretty funny sometimes too.
