My therapist mentioned referring me to a psychiatrist for anxiety medication, then at the next appt. said it wasn't a good idea as it doesn't the issue. I would've loved the temporary relief though...

Started calisthenics today; not to lose weight, but to get toned and get a little stronger. It's a 5x/week type deal ChatGPT drew out for me, but my snap, crackle, pop knees sure do love to complain..

"Yeah, I'm fine..." Jennifer rubbed the base of her neck where the seatbelt had dug into her skin as a result of Nate's sudden brake. It wasn't too serious, and at most, it would leave a small-sized rash for a day or two. She looked behind her to where she presumed the stranger was lying dead, but she couldn't see a damn thing.

"No, we're not leaving him like this," she added, shooting Vin a dirty look. "The least we can do is call 9-1-1 using the guy's phone. If he's not dead, then I'm not going to be an accomplice to murder...regardless of what they think I've already done." Without waiting for a response, she unbuckled her seatbelt and got out of the car. Jennifer looked around for a moment to make sure no one else was nearby, then she walked behind the car to check on the guy.

Sure enough, he wasn't moving, but that didn't mean he was dead. She got down on one knee and used two fingers to check for a heartbeat on his wrist. She didn't know whether to be relieved or disappointed.

"He has a pulse." Jennifer placed his hand down and stood up, wiping off her hands. "And he's also sticky..." She made a face before walking to the back of the vehicle to take off the extra layer of clothing she had on. She then placed the uniform shirt and pair of pants in the trunk and walked around to stand over the stranger again.

"Well, what do we do?"

Yeah, I'll give him that much.
@AcerRo

Well JJ never asked to be saved.
<Snipped quote by Subject Zero>

You should know better. Nates saved her what four times now and she won't help him. Hell when you think about it. All the shit Buckhead has been through was her fault.

How do you figure? She doesn't have any destructive abilities unlike Vin. Besides, Buckhead should consider themselves lucky that JJ helped that one lady back in the gala.
@Subject Zero

True, but that was before she had the seemingly sporadic headaches; that's what's really worrying her.
If JJ isn't going to heal Nate, what makes you think she's going to heal a complete stranger? I say he gets ran over, but they stuff him in the back seat to avoid leaving any tracks and even though he appears to be unconscious, he actually hears the group arguing about what they should do with him, whether JJ should heal him even if it's just a minor fix, etc. When the guy learns about her abilities, he pulls out a gun and forces her to do it. I mean, the guy's a thief already so who's to say things can't escalate, especially when he's hurt and drunk.

That's about the only way to get JJ to help him. Otherwise, good luck convincing her.
Of course you are.

Anyway, @AcerRo, I was wondering if we could have a time skip to midnight or 1 AM when the team got to Harlan. Unless @Subject Zero and @Rawk oppose this for some reason.
@Rawk

Oh that would be really helpful.

EDIT: please tell me my NPC isn't some DC Comics character, because that would really suck.
"Oh for fuck's sake..." Jennifer whispered when Nate hinted at using the vehicle as a weapon against its very own passengers. "You've gone mad," she added in response to his creepy smile, tugging at the strap secured across her lap just for her own peace of mind. Jennifer rolled up the sleeves of the uniform shirt she wore in order to cool down a bit. Wearing all those layers of clothes was making her hot, especially with a possibly suicidal Nate sitting next to her. Who wouldn't feel the least bit uncomfortable in such close proximity to someone like that?

As the inside of the vehicle grew quiet once more, Jennifer leaned her head back to stare out the window. She hoped that by taking this trip to Harlan, everything would get sorted out. Harrison would get arrested for his crimes, the authorities would stop looking for them, and their lives would no longer be in danger. They may or may not lose their abilities in the process, but Jennifer was on the fence regarding how she felt about those. Sure, the headaches sucked, but those could mostly be attributed to her helping Vin. She was otherwise okay with them.

Letting out an audible sigh, Jennifer looked at the clock and complained. Only 5 hours and 25 minutes to go.

@Subject Zero
Nate is an asshole and you're a nerd. Honestly, I can't say which one's worse.

I'm kidding, sorta...
