1. I'm in school to become a physical therapist assistant! (Did it!)

2. I will quit any roleplay that has been inactive IC for one month for any reason. I've been in too many Schrodinger's RP's and I'm not doing that anymore.

Hi! I plan to torture the worthless rabble with... *ahem* I mean, be the gracious leader of a Hunger Games roleplay. It will be set in the world of the Hunger Games books/movies around the time of the 74th games, but on a different landmass. The roleplay will be a standard Hunger Games competition (unless, of course, any radicals decide to do something stupid). I plan to use lots of tabletop mechanics. I would like to have up to nine tributes, but I will consider taking more if there is a lot of interest. Also, I can't be sure how the game will work until it happens, so please bear with me if something doesn't work out in the fair way I imagine. I mean, this is the Hunger Games for goodness sake, so "fair" is only a relative term, anyway. Please let me know if you are interested so I can get to work on the worldbuilding and game mechanics details! Also, feel free to ask any questions, though I might not be able to answer you until I get more ideas set in stone.
Name: Nicolette Baudin

Gender: Female

Age: 19

Personality: Nicolette is quiet and introverted, though not particularly shy. She works hard to be organized and precise. She is a nerd with a lot of book smarts, but also naive and lacking in street smarts. She loves reading and learning new things, though sometimes she can be nervous about new hands-on experiences.

Nicolette is particularly interested in history and dreams of becoming a Pokemon Historian. One of her major weaknesses is that she expects situations to go according to how they have gone in the past, and she can become confused or flustered by unexpected outcomes.

She is interested in raising Pokemon as friends, but she doesn't have much experience battling. Nicolette views battles as a way to observe and contribute to a long-standing tradition of friendly competition honoring wars of the distant past. She doesn't dream of becoming a great competitive trainer, but she does give battling a try on occasion, largely because it seems to make Rush happy.

Nicolette currently works part-time as a librarian's assistant while raising her two Pokemon. She is comfortable and content with her life. Content, but not happy. While part of her wants to stay safe at home with her books, another part has always craved a greater purpose, to play a larger role in the history that future generations will study.

History: Nicolette was raised as an only child in a fairly privileged and sheltered home. She spent most of her childhood studying and reading. Thus, she never had many friends, and she considered the family Furfrou Alphonse to be her best friend.

Nicolette has always been particularly interested in Pokemon-related history. Part of her yearned to set out on grand adventures to witness history first-hand. However, she doubted her abilities to handle the perils of the wide world.

Nicolette finally took her chance when she learned that a major conflict had just ended in the Orre region, and patient trainers were needed to help rehabilitate Pokemon from a mysterious condition called Shadow. She was matched with Rush the Electrike, largely because the organizers thought another canine-like Pokemon would help him adjust. Since then, Nicolette has aimed to stop being a passive witness to Pokemon history and start becoming a part of it. The problem is, she's not sure how to accomplish this goal...

Home town: Camphrier Town, Kalos, but has been living in Phenac City, Orre, for two years

Starting Pokemon:

Alphonse Rene Gagnon IV: Furfrou; male; mid-thirties; docile nature; level 10; attacks: Tackle, Growl, Sand-Attack, Baby-Doll Eyes; Alphonse comes from a line of carefully bred Contest Pokemon, and he's proud of that lineage even though he has never won a Pokemon Contest himself. He has been the Baudin family pet since before Nicollete was born. He is calm, serious, and level-headed, always preferring to solve problems with words and wits. Following the rules is important to him, and he considers violence outside a formal battle setting to be disgracefully rude. Secretly, he's a little afraid of battling, though he won't let anyone know it. Alphonse has developed great patience (but also some vanity) through years of grooming fads. However, justice is important to him, and he will argue and/or fight fiercely against injustice, whether the offender is friend or foe. Though he's not very good at expressing affection outwardly, Alphonse cherishes his role as a father figure for Rush... troublesome though the Electrike may be.

Rush: Electrike; male; older teen; bold nature; level 16; attacks: Electro Ball (egg move), Tackle, Thunder Wave, Leer; Rush was born to a Shadow Houndour father and a non-shadow Electrike mother. Cipher turned him into a Shadow Pokemon at just a few weeks old. Rush was trained to be a heartless fighting machine, and that's the only purpose in life he has ever known. When Cipher fell, he and some other Shadow Pokemon were purified and sent to live with "rehab" trainers. Rush is still getting used to his new life, and many things about non-shadow life confuse him. He is still easily angered, aggressive, and quick to fight. However, he is learning how to be curious and care about others. Rush is incredibly brave and feels most comfortable on the battlefield. His greatest fear is disappointing his "masters" Nicolette and Alphonse, a fear he faces every day in the attempt to learn how to be "normal".
Oooh, an Orre RP! I'm glad I caught you guys in the beginning stages. No guarantee I'll be able to join this RP, but I'll be thinking about a character :)
I'm still around, waiting for Celina and/or Trevor to post.
Mildred found one crisp, bright note that must have been placed there earlier today. In a barely legible scrawl, it read:

Mission type: Rescue
Client: Nate the Fennekin
Location: Quake Path
Reward: 5 Geo Pebbles, Protein, $1000
Difficulty: 1
Description: My best friend, Kate the Cyndaquil, and I went into Quake Path on a dare. There, a big Pokemon started chasing us, and we got separated! I made it out, but Kate might still be in there. Please hurry; that big Pokemon might do terrible things if it catches her!

After a little searching, Mildred also found a sightly faded note behind some of the newer ones. In much neater handwriting, it read:

Mission type: Retrieval
Client: Bill the Nidorino
Location: Quake Path
Reward: Heal Seed, Calcium, $1000
Difficulty: 1
Description: My son, Will the Rattata, lost his Pecha Scarf deep in Quake Path. Without that scarf, I can't hug or play with my son for fear of poisoning him with my Poison Point! Please bring his scarf back soon!

"These might be a little tough for a team of two beginners," Mildred commented, pointing out both notices to Celina and Trevor. "But I'm afraid they're the best we have at the moment. You can take one of these assignments if you think you're ready, or you can wait for something a little easier to come along." The Smeargle secretly hoped Team Solar Eclipse would choose to wait. That way, she would definitely have time to inform her superiors of her unsettling hunches about this team.
@AbysmalDemonIf you had any mission in mind for Team Solar Eclipse, now would be the time... If you don't, one of us could come up with something if you want.
Mildred frowned as Trevor gave his shaky, vague answer. Maybe she was right to be suspicious of this team. Right then, the Smeargle made up her mind not to let them out of her sight until a higher-ranking member of the guild could check them out. Well, unless they attacked or threatened her... or set foot outside the town border... but barring those limits, Mildred would not be stopped from performing her solemn duty! She quickly resumed her professional demeanor as Trevor asked about the sparser board on the left.

"You're halfway right," Mildred answered, staring grimly at the notes and sketches, some of which she drew herself. "This board is for bounties on wanted criminals. Most of them are stronger than the average Pokemon you'll meet in a dungeon, so we'll only allow teams to hunt crooks if we know th-they're capable. They're arranged fr-from petty thieves at the bottom to pot-t-tentially region-threatening criminals at the top."

Mildred gulped and tore her eyes away from the board that rattled her every time she walked by, as if those sketches would come to life and maul her. But the most frightening of all was a long list of crimes with no image or name near the top of the board. Suddenly remembering her company, the secretary cleared her throat and half-succeeded at plastering on a pleasant smile.

"But you don't have to worry about that board for a while," Mildred continued, quickly escorting the team toward the board on the right. This one nearly overflowed with notes of various size. "This is the job board for other tasks, such as retrieval, escort, and rescue missions. Like the bounty board, missions are arranged by estimated difficulty from bottom to top. Now, let's see if there's anything near the bottom that could fit your team..."
"Your questions will be answered on the tour," Mildred replied with a light smile as she took the forms from Celina. The secretary briefly scanned a few pages and frowned a bit at the team name. Solar Eclipse? They named themselves after an astronomical phenomenon that blocks the source of light and life? She recalled hearing that the guild had some trouble with a certain 'Team Darkness' a few years ago... But she supposed it wasn't right to judge people by their team name any more than their species.

Mildred made a quick note to watch this team carefully. Then she scanned the lobby. All seemed relatively calm at the moment, and her colleague should return from his errand soon. The Smeargle quickly jotted a note that read On orientation tour, please direct all questions to Sophia. We apologize for the inconvenience. Then she placed the note on her desk, tilted it until it lay perfectly straight, and gestured for Team Solar Eclipse to follow her through a grand door at the end of the lobby.

The group journeyed to a few rooms of importance, including the cafeteria, mail room, and nurse's office. The Pokemon working there seemed more than happy to take a few minutes out of their day to explain the basics of living and working at the guild, and Mildred appreciated the time to sit back and recharge. While a particularly chatty Ambipom explained his job, she leafed through the rest of TSE's application, signing each with the lavender ink on her tail.

"Next stop is the job board," Mildred informed as the three Pokemon walked/flew up a spiral staircase. Unless the Smeargle wanted to endure the embarrassment of huffing and puffing like a Snorlax by the time she reached the top, it would take the group a few more minutes to reach their destination. Mildred realized with a twinge of nerves that now would be an appropriate time for small talk. Though she really wanted to say nothing beyond her pre-written script about the guild, she felt it her duty to at least attempt to give an impression of confidence and interest.

"So... uh..." Mildred began, followed by a pause. "How long have you two known each other?" There. A simple question with an answer that could range from two words to a novel. Good start, Mildred inwardly praised herself.
@Card CaptorI noticed you write your posts in AWESOME! Just figured it was a good time to bring up my inner praise ^_^
So Mithril has a negative weight? Does that mean he can make his wielder levitate or fly? I'm just imagining Gris and Mithril going UP, UP, AND AWAY!!
