Breaking News: "Hello and Good Morning Unova, I'm Arnold Gloom bringing you this breaking story from Nimbasa City as a group of Arceus fanatics are surrounding the theme parks here preventing hundreds of customers from leaving the park. While the situation has remained civil up to this point there are worries that Pokemon may be sent out and attacks may start flying." The new anchor pauses for a moment before adding "What are the thinking of this back home Tom?" he asks There is a brief silence before the second anchor responds "We are are in shock here Arny, it's very disturbing that a group such as theirs is able to shut down a theme park and even more so that the police are doing nothing to fix this." He chuckles slightly before continuing "I suppose its hard to get a large response when the most they can do is shut down the Mr.Mime Merry-go-round, Haha. The backdrop changes to the Pokemon Language pattern and the League theme plays "In other news Joey is set to battle Cameron for a shot at taking on the Elite 4 and I know we are all just very excited for this bout aren't we?

@Prints Avoid Good question, I'm thinking due to recent creation they haven't turned into fossils, they simply live deep underground where you would normally find their dead remains. if we could revive fossils we could revive dead people and Pokemon and that kind of ruins the tone

@onenote yeah no pokegear, while not useful in game it would put this world on easy mode yes bikes exist and are fine for travelling the cities, but the routes here are far more untamed than in the games and riding a bike strait through would be outrageous

@Prints Avoid How did your family get its wealth? You can start where ever you like to start building your story. The first major plot related event will take place in Kanto which my character will be absent from. I'm heading to Unova first personally

What's the world like in terms of Pokemon research and stuff? Have we got these famous professors around making huge discoveries? I ask because I'm seeing my character as one who wants to get out and do field research on wild Pokemon.

Yes for sure, professors are just that however, professors. Not mentors or secret tutors to aspiring trainers, The instances of a professor giving a starter to a new trainer are very low. Professors are the authority on Pokemon knowledge though, Just like how i don't know the talents and abilities of every animal on this planet, the average person wouldn't know to terribly much about most Pokemon. Professors discovered most forms of evolution, breeding techniques and mega-evolution. But yeah, going on journey to learn as much as possible about the pokemon world isn't uncommon for aspiring researchers when a formal education isn't financially possible
